My Thoughts on the March 14th Special Event of AAA Rey De Reyes:

My Thoughts: Undertaker has been doing a great job these past three weeks booking these AAA shows. This was a very fun show, and I'm very glad I tuned in to watch it. Loved the opening segment of the Lucha Bros saying at a TripleMania they'll indeed reunite. The opener with Flammer and Bayley battling for the AAA Reina de Reinas Title was very fun. I thought Bayley was going to do it, but the Las Toxicas came out to help Flammer keep her title and become the longest reigning AAA Reina de Reinas champion in company history. The Match of the Night for me came afterwards as the Rey de Reyes Four-Way Match was a lot of fun, with storytelling and drama adding to the match. Santos Escobar has been the huge talking point as a lot of people speculate he was either injured or didn't care about the match because he looked off last night. But El Grande Americano will have a future AAA Mega Title Match against Dominik Mysterio as Ludwig Kaiser, who took a character and made it the most popular act in the Mexican Wrestling Scene. The Main Event Match was underhwhelming to say the least, but Dominik Mysterio is staying in AAA, and also is still the AAA Mega Champion as he defeated El Hijo del Vikingo to remain champion, but now, because of the stipulation, as long as Dominik Mysterio is the AAA Champion, El Hijo del Vikingo can't challenge for the Main Prize in AAA. But this was an overall fun event, next week’s card looks fun, and hopefully, week two of AAA Rey de Reyes delivers as well.

The March 14th Special Event of AAA Rey De Reyes — The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Flammer (c) vs. Bayley in a AAA Reina de Reinas Title Match | The Match Rating: **** — Bayley was a surprising choice. After seeing her come out, I thought for a fact she was going to win and become AAA Reina de Reinas Champion, taking down Flammer. But this was a very fun match. Flammer looked great against Bayley. She held her own as someone who isn't very familiar with Flammer ever since I started fully watching AAA last year. She's a very underrated in-ring talent. She swam with Bayley tonight and delivered a very solid performance, so I give her her flowers for that. Bayley was doing a lot in this match; she was pulling all the stops to become AAA Reina de Reinas. Flammer was having good chemistry with Bayley. Something I'll say with how thin the AAA Women's Division is, having Bayley come through that door to answer the challenge was much needed, having a future HOF come out to an amazing pop. The crowd was electric throughout the night, but this was a lot of fun. In the closing moments, I was holding hope that Byaley would win, but the Las Toxicas came out to help Flammer retain to become the longest reigning AAA Reina de Reinas Champion. One thing to note, where was Lyra Valkyria? That's something I saw all over social media: she didn't come to help Bayley. Will that be something to keep an eye on? But Bayley has another chance this Monday as she faces AJ Lee for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Title, but with this loss, will she go 0-2 this Monday on title shots this past week?

The 2nd Match: El Grande Americano vs. La Parka vs. Original El Grande Americano vs. Santos Escobar in a  Rey de Reyes Final Four-Way Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — A very fun match, I knew this match was going to be the Match of the Night because of who was going to be involved in this match. You had Chad Gable, La Parka, Ludwig Kaiser, and Santos Escobar. I knew they couldn't fumble a match filled with fun in-ring talent. The match started fun, I really enjoyed watching Chad Gable and Ludwig Kaiser go at it with the El Grande Americano personas. La Parka was very fun to watch as he's the one with the most Rey de Reyes victories in the history of the AAA Promotion. Santos Escobar was the talk of the whole event as people were suggesting he wass injured, hung-over or didn't care to be in this match at all because he looked awful I thought in the firts half of the match he was fine, but I think personally he got concussed because he looked so wonky, and clunky in some of the moves I know Santos Esobar can go in the ring we've seen it many times, so with him having a tyerrible performance shocked me as he is also in the midst of a title feud with the AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. who was involved in this match costing Santos Escobar his chance of winning. Another cool moment was when Bravo Americano & Rayo Americano handcuffed the Original El Grande Americano to help El Grande Americano get the win as he pinned Santos Escobar for the victory to get his momentous win, he gets the prestigious sword, and a future AAA Mega Title shot against Dominik Mysterio. Ludwig Kaiser looked emotional; he took a character and made it the biggest thing in Mexico. He had a Stone Cold level pop when he won. Now, imagine when he becomes the World Champion in AAA, that pop. A fun match, and I really hope the crowning moment for Ludwig Kaiser comes soon.

The Main Event Match: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. El Hijo del Vikingo (with Dorian Roldan & Omos) in a AAA Mega Title No Disqualification Match | The Match Rating: **.75 — What's funny to me as a fan is that you can tell how Triple H uses Dominik Mysterio, and how different the Undertaker uses Dominik Mysterio in AAA. In terms of restrictions, Dominik Mysterio looks more comfortable in the ring, as he does AAA material compared to his WWE material; it's a lot different range-wise. But this match was the match I was excited for. They did a good job building for this match, but it just didn't exceed my expectations. El Hijo del Vikingo lost and is now not able to challenge for the AAA Mega Title as long as Dominik Mysterio is the holder of the title. But when Mini Vikingo came out, that was a good spot he got at his older brother, but Omos destroyed him. But this match was also eleven minutes long, which I felt was short for how high-stakes this match was; it should've gone twenty to twenty-five minutes. But in the end, we saw Dominik Mysterio go out on top. I saw rumors that El Hijo del Vikingo might be going after Penta, and the WWE Intercontinental Title, which is great for him because it keeps him going, but after Dominik Mysterio drops the title to who I assume will be El Grande Americano, defeating him, what does Dominik Mysterio do next in AAA? That’s my question.

The March 14th Special Event of AAA Rey De Reyes — The Match of the Night: El Grande Americano vs. La Parka vs. Original El Grande Americano vs. Santos Escobar in a Rey de Reyes Final Four-Way Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — This was a very fun match, only downside of things is Snatos Escobar performance which was down-right awful. But other than that, I really enjoyed this match, and Ludwig Kaiser earns himself a crowning moment of his career.

The March 14th Special Event of AAA Rey De Reyes — The Episode Grade: 8.25/10 (B+) — A very fun event, we had the Lucha Bros reunite to announce they would wrestle as a team again at AAA TripleMania. Bayley appeared to be coming up short against Flammer for the AAA Reina de Reinas Title. The Rey de Reyes winner, El Grande Americano, deserved it because he worked so hard for this moment, and Ludwig Kaiser was very emotional as the Puebla crowd was cheering him on. The Main Event we saw Dominik Mysterio retain his AAA Mega Title against El Hijo del Vikingo in a very chaotic Main Event to cap off a very fun Week One of AAA Rey de Reyes.
