My Official Thoughts on the May 13th Episode of AEW Dynamite:

My Official Thoughts: Great Episode of Dynamite, we saw the Brackets made for the Men's & Women's Owen Hart Tournament, Darby Allin continues to reign supreme with a great title defense against Konosuke Takeshita. But AEW Dynamite has been the best TV Wrestling show this year with the consistency it has shown, mixed in with the great matches they put on display.

The May 13th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Official Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, Orange Cassidy & The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood), The Dogs (Clark Connors & David Finlay) & Tommaso Ciampa in a Ten-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — First, when I saw this match, I was like, it's either going to be a blast or a disaster, because when it comes to super-compact Tag Team Matches, I always think the worst. Still, I wrong this was a very fun opener, Adam Copeland growing his signature hair out again is cool but the team of Cope, Cage, Orange & The Bucks was a lot of fun to watch, the heel side of things we saw them suffer the loss at FTR, Tommaso & The Dogs suffer the loss, a lot of different stories being told in this match, but I do have a feeling Adam Copeland & Christian Cage will win the titles at DoN.

The 2nd Match: Mike Bailey (with Kevin Knight) vs. Westbrook in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — A squash match for Mike Bailey once again, as he defeated Westbrook in a minute. Then, after the match, as he had his best buddy, Kevin Knight, in the ring, he called out Darby Allin as he wanted a shot at the AEW World Title, after he got done with Konosuke Takeshita. Now this match will definitely rock as Mike Bailey and Darby Allin can give us a classic, but I do like the string of wins Mike Bailey has been securing as of late with these squash matches.

The 3rd Match: Kevin Knight (with Mike Bailey) (c) vs. Brian Cage (with Lance Archer) in an AEW TNT Title Match | The Match Rating: *** — Brian Cage made his return after a 14-Month Hiatus from AEW due to injury as he answered Kevin Knight's AEW TNT Open Challenge. This match was very decent. Brian Cage was a good and fresh new challenger for Kevin Knight. There were some solid moments in the match. Brian Cage did have a strong performance; he's back united with the Don Callis Family as he suffered the loss, as Kevin Knight won to retain his AEW TNT Title. This has been a very solid reign from Kevin Knight really excited for his direction this summer.

The 4th Match: Will Ospreay vs. Ace Austin in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — Such a fun match, Ace Austin. I liked it in the beginning, but he was hesitant to trust Will Ospreay due to his new affiliation with the Death Riders. Will Ospreay is simply amazing to watch. This match was a lot of fun. I like the fact that Ace Austin is getting these types of matches as of late. He just had a match with Kazuchika Okada for the AEW International Title, and now this. Will Ospreay started to display a new in-ring style with his work with the Death Riders, as he got the win with an Arm Breaker instead of the Hidden Blade, which was a nice touch in my opinion.

The 5th Match: The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter) & Hikaru Shida vs. Triangle Of Madness (Julia Hart, Skye Blue & Thekla) in a Six-Women Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: **.25 — This match was something I was interested in seeing, but it was a very lackluster match to me. It could've been a lot better with the talent that was involved in this match, but the storyline, in my opinion, between everyone in this match has been okay. I get why this match happened. But I have a feeling that at Double or Nothing, Thekla is going to lose her title. I do feel like the end is near for her reign, which was a pretty good reign, I must say, but I just think with how AEW books reigns, it's ending soon.

The Main Event Match: Darby Allin (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita in an AEW World Title Match | The Match Rating: ***** — Man, I can confidently say Darby Allin’s reign is Top 3 in the History of AEW because these matches he has had with the title have been amazing. Konosuke Takeshita was amazing in this match; this was the Match of the Night, and one of the best matches in AEW this year. But after the match, MJF attacked, as now the Hair vs. Title Match is official for AEW Double or Nothing. I'm excited, as I'll be attending Double or Nothing. So this match is going to be fun to watch in person.

The May 13th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Match of the Night: Darby Allin (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita in an AEW World Title Match | The Match Rating: ***** — Man, I can confidently say Darby Allin’s reign is Top 3 in the History of AEW because these matches he has had with the title have been amazing. Konosuke Takeshita was amazing in this match; this was the Match of the Night, and one of the best matches in AEW this year. But after the match, MJF attacked, as now the Hair vs. Title Match is official for AEW Double or Nothing. I’m excited, as I’ll be attending Double or Nothing. So this match is going to be fun to watch in person. The atmosphere is going to be electric, especially with stakes this high and MJF involved. If this match lives up to Darby’s recent run, it could easily end up being a Match of the Year contender.

The May 13th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Official Episode Grade: 8.50/10 (A-) — This was a great episode of Dynamite. We got the full reveal of the brackets for both the Men’s and Women’s Owen Hart Tournaments, setting the stage for some really exciting matchups. Darby Allin continues to reign supreme with another strong title defense against Konosuke Takeshita, further cementing his status as one of AEW’s top stars. Week after week, AEW Dynamite has been the most consistent TV wrestling show of the year, delivering engaging storytelling and high-energy in-ring action. The combination of long-term booking, meaningful stakes, and excellent matches makes it feel like must-see wrestling every single time it’s on.
