My Official Review of the October 21st Episode of AEW Dynamite:

My Official Review: This was a very good episode; this episode felt like a major reset. We had the teasers of Kyle Fletcher eyeing the AEW World Title. We had Bang Bang Gang and The Dogs form together as they're now a villainous supergroup. Marnia Shafir seems to be the next person in line to take on Mercedes Moné for the AEW Women's World Title. The New Level and Swerve Strickland gave a proposal of a Texas Death Match at AEW Full Gear for the AEW World Trios Title, which had Adam Page getting flashbacks. I really just loved the brand new wide range of stories being told and the needed heel turn for Jay White. Best part of this episode was Ilja Dragunov’s In-Ring Debut in AEW It was awesome seeing Ilja Dragunov in the Company that he truly belongs in. What we saw against Mike Bailey is a sample size of what’s to come. He has an AEW World Champion ceiling; he’s going to be amazing in AEW, and I can’t wait for what’s in store for Ilja Dragunov in AEW. Amazing Episode very happy with the direction of AEW as we hit the end of 2026.

My Official Match Ratings for the October 21st AEW Dynamite Episode:

The Opening Match: Davis And Doyle (Jake Doyle & Mark Davis) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) [c] in an AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Match | My Match Rating: N/A — This was a surprising squash match but this makes Davis And Doyle a creditable threat for the AEW World Tag Team Titles, but I can’t for the future AEW World Tag Team Title Match with maybe the chance of Davis And Doyle winning the titles if I was the Creative Booker I would’ve done that but this was a fun opener because we don’t see squashes against champions as often. Davis And Doyle are one of my favorite AEW Tag Teams, so hopefully they can win the AEW World Tag Team Titles.

The 2nd Match: Don Callis Family (Kevin Knight & Kyle Fletcher) vs. Adam Copeland & Will Ospreay in a Tag Team Match | My Match Rating: **** — Very shocking, to say the least, that Adam Copeland and Will Ospreay lost, but what they did after the match, I have to give credit to Tony Khan because he most likely started Kyle Fletcher pursuit of the AEW World Championship. I thought this match was solid, but it also created old feuds to be reignited, and Kazuchika Okada and Adam Copeland seem to be on a future crash course, which I dig a lot because we know Edge is retiring soon, so let's have some matches for him that he might want to do before he hangs up his Wrestling Boots. But this was good also: Darby Allin and Steven Borden came out, and we have our Men's Blood and Guts Match officially set, which was crazy, but this was a decent match and a great post-match angle that set up a lot of future matches and new fresh feuds.

The 3rd Match: Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) vs. Tome Filip in a Singles Match | My Match Rating: N/A — This match was kinda pointless; that’s one of my negatives towards Tony Khan booking style because this match wasn’t needed. Maybe they could’ve added a Swerve Strickland segment announcing the challenge for the AEW World Trios Title in a Texas Death Match.

The 4th Match: Jay White & Orange Cassidy vs. Death Riders (Daniel Garcia & Wheeler Yuta) in a Tag Team Match | My Match Rating: *** — A very mediocre tag team match. Before the Heel Turn, I said to myself, what's Jay White even doing anymore? He hasn't been taken seriously, and surprisingly enough, hours later we saw what occurred, but this match was okay. Jay White and Orange Cassidy winning against the Role Players of the Death Riders in Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta is cool, but what I wish is something different for Orange Cassidy. He has been super boring in recent years, and I could say the same for Jay White, but he's now a heel as he formed a super group with The Dogs, so I guess we just have to wait and see how that plays out.

The 5th Match: Jon Moxley [c] vs. Roderick Strong in an AEW Continental Title Eliminator Match | My Match Rating: ***.25 — Typical Jon Moxley style of match, but it's Roderick Strong; you know he can't make anything horrible. This was a fine Eliminator match. I think everyone in the world knew Roderick Strong wasn't going to win, but the fact of the matter is he always performs well. As he did in this match, but my issue is that Jon Moxley is tired of the same style of matches; it's repetitive, and we know he isn't losing. He only lost one Singles Match this year, which was against Will Ospreay at ALL OUT Chicago, so it's like these matches do nothing for me, but this one I have to say was fun.

The 6th Match: Queen Aminata vs. Maya World in an AEW TBS Title No. 1 Contender’s Match | My Match Rating: ***.50 — These two are going to be future AEW Women's World Champions in my eyes. But this match was fun and cool to see Queen Aminata having another title match as she challenged for the AEW Women's World Title and now the AEW TBS Title against Persephone on AEW Fright Night. Maya World came back from injury and looked solid in the ring, hoping she has something major for the end of the year.

The Main Event Match: Ilja Dragunov vs. Mike Bailey in a Singles Match | My Match Rating: ****.75 — He has arrived. Ilja Dragunov has arrived in All Elite Wrestling, and this was an excellent debut on AEW TV. I’m very happy to see him wrestling again. This was just a taste of the intense matches we’ll be seeing, and there’s a list of matchups I can’t wait to see him in. Mike Bailey tried everything he could, but he became the first victim of Ilja Dragunov’s madness as Dragunov picked up the win. This match was awesome. I love Ilja Dragunov’s wrestling style, and he’ll fit perfectly in AEW.

My Official Match of the Night for the October 21st Episode of AEW Dynamite: Ilja Dragunov vs. Mike Bailey in a Singles Match | My Match Rating: ****.75 — He has arrived. Ilja Dragunov has arrived in All Elite Wrestling. This was an excellent debut on AEW TV. Very happy to see Ilja Dragunov wrestling again. This was a little taste of the intense matches we'll be seeing. We have a list of matches I can't wait to see Ilja Dragunov be in. Mike Bailey tried everything in his power, but he was the first victim of Ilja Dragunov’s madness as he got the win. This match was awesome. I love Ilja Dragunov style of wrestling, and he's going to fit like a puzzle in AEW.

My Official Highlight of the Show for the October 21st Episode of AEW Dynamite: Ilja Dragunov’s In-Ring Debut in AEW — It was awesome seeing Ilja Dragunov in the Company that he truly belongs in. What we saw against Mike Bailey is a sample size of what’s to come. He has an AEW World Champion ceiling; he’s going to be amazing in AEW, and I can’t wait for what’s in store for Ilja Dragunov in AEW.

My October 21st Official Episode Grade for AEW Dynamite: 9/10 (A) — AEW Dynamite felt like a major reset, introducing fresh stories and meaningful developments. Kyle Fletcher set his sights on the AEW World Championship, Bang Bang Gang and The Dogs formed a villainous supergroup, and Marnia Shafir emerged as a potential challenger for Mercedes Moné. The New Level and Swerve Strickland also proposed a Texas Death Match for the AEW World Trios Championship, triggering flashbacks for Adam Page. The highlight was Ilja Dragunov’s AEW in-ring debut against Mike Bailey. He looked outstanding and showed why he has an AEW World Championship ceiling. Overall, this was an exciting episode with a strong mix of new storylines and the much-needed heel turn for Jay White.
