My Thoughts on the March 18th Episode of AEW Dynamite:
My Thoughts: A very down episode of AEW Dynamite after riding high from AEW Revolution. From this show, there was really only one very good match, which was Speedball taking on Mark Davis. I enjoyed the MJF Promo and Swerve Strickland Promo. Next week, I hope we get back on track with Dynamite because this was a very poor episode, something I wouldn't expect from AEW, as they have been putting out some great episodes of Dynamite in recent months. Maybe this is a fluke episode.
The March 4th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Will Ospreay vs. Blake Christian in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: *** — This was cool. Will Ospreay is back gracing our TVs again; he had the huge pop of the show. He took on Blake Christian, who just recently became All Elite fully. But this was very solid. Will Ospreay looked fine in this match, but I would like him to tone down on the super high-octane offense he had we wanna contiune to see him wrestle for many more decades. But this was solid; it did its job. Will Ospreay gets the win, then cuts a very savage promo, aiming at Jon Moxley, confirming what we all knew: he's coming for the leader of the Death Riders. I assume their match will be taking place at AEW Dynasty.
The 2nd Match: Death Riders (Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta) vs. Bang Bang Gang (Ace Austin & Juice Robinson) (with Austin Gunn) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: **.75 — A very random tag team match, I'm happy to see Ace Austin, sadly, he should've stayed in TNA because I feel like he would've been booked better instead of being in a watered-down Bullet Club Stable. But this match was very mediocre. The only highlight was before the match, as Will Ospreay attacked the man who took him out for many months in Jon Moxley, but this match just didn't do anything for anyone. Ace Austin & Juice Robinson have been stagnant, and the Death Riders as a whole are confusing, as Jon Moxley seems to be a babyface, but the whole group is heels. All-around confusing, but this was a very boring match, and it added nothing to me.
The 3rd Match: Darby Allin vs. Gabe Kidd in a Coffin Match | The Match Rating: *.75 — This is the issue you've had with the Dogs losing on Sunday, then Gabe Kidd loses again to Darby Allin in a very brutal fashion. You want me to believe he's that touch S.O.B. he always claims he is from New Japan? This match should've been Gabe Kidd’s win. I thought this was perfect for him to win, but I just don't get this booking at all. This was a very poor match. I wasn't even excited for this at all because what is the point of this match? To announce that Darby Allin is eyeing the AEW World Title and is potentially MJF’s next challenger at AEW Dynasty? All of this wasn't good. Gabe Kidd, I ain't the biggest fan, but I'm logical, you want him to get major wins to keep his outlandish character believable. These losses just make him look like a wimp.
The 4th Match: Mike Bailey vs. Mark Davis in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — This was the only good match from this show, a very fun match between these two: Mike Bailey, who regained the AEW World Trios Title, and faced the man he took it away from, the Don Callis Family, in Mark Davis. But Mike Speedball and Mark Davis styles just clicked in the ring; the dynamic of this match and pace was great. I love how Mark Davis has been getting so many matches and chances to shine. I know the whole Jake Doyle stuff derailed with the untimely injury to Jake Doyle, but man, it was nice to see Mark Davis being showcased the way he has been showcased as this big husky threat. Mike Speedball got the win, which was surprising. I thought Mark Davis would win, but a very good match. This is what I always enjoy about AEW: these fun Free TV Matches.
The 5th Match: Mina Shirakawa vs. Marnia Shafir in a No Holds Barred Match | The Match Rating: **.50 — Originally, it was supposed to be Toni Storm, but she was KO'd backstage as blood poured through her skull, and Mina Shirakawa filled in for her. I was fine with the pivot as I'm a fan of Mina Shirakawa, but it leads me to believe she was the one who did that to Toni Storm. Maybe in due time, we’ll figure out who took out Toni Dtorm. But this match was fine. Marnia Shafir, with back-to-back matches of her having a passable performance, I'm not a fan of her as a performer. She isn't good in the ring; the only thing I remember about her is that awful promo she did years back. But the ending to this match was cool, and glad Mina Shirakawa got the win.
The Main Event Match: Jack Perry & The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs. The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada, Rocky Romero & Trent Beretta) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — A very decent Main Event, but it wasn't anything that special. But the Young Bucks united with the new AEW National Champion Jack Perry to take on The Don Callis Family in the Main Event of tonight's show, the match was decent like I said I kinda wanted Don Callis Family to win, but that wouldn't make much sense with what AEW tryna do with the Young Bucks but they get the win with Jack Perry. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage came out to stake their claim at AEW Dynasty, where they'll be challenging for the AEW World Tag Team Titles against FTR. But what I got from this is that Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will win at AEW Dynasty, then their final tag team match together will be a TLC Match against the Young Bucks. Because if I recall, Adam Copeland's contract does end in September of this year. But we'll see what happens.
The March 18th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Match of the Night: Mike Bailey vs. Mark Davis in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — A very fun physical match, I enjoy Mike Bailey, even dating back to his TNA Days. He is a really good in-ring talent. Mark Davis, who has been used well this year, has been having a very solid 2026. I thought this was the only good match from tonight’s show. I hope both men continue to be used well.
The March 18th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Episode Grade: 5/10 (C) — A very lackluster episode of AEW Dynamite, some matches I felt that weren’t needed mixed in with generic matches that added no substance to the show, a very poor episode of AEW Dynamite.
