My Thoughts on the February 4th Episode of AEW Dynamite:

My Thoughts: This was a very strong episode of AEW Dynamite, anchored by consistently high‑quality in‑ring work and several major storyline developments that genuinely felt important. From start to finish, the show maintained a strong pace and sense of momentum, using both the matches and the post‑match angles to build anticipation heading into AEW Grand Slam.

One of the standout moments of the night was Andrade punching his ticket to AEW Grand Slam. His performance felt decisive and focused, reinforcing the idea that he is a serious, top‑tier contender heading into one of AEW’s biggest television events of the year. The way the match was structured showcased his athleticism and intensity, while also giving the audience a clear reason to invest in his journey going forward. Andrade’s victory didn’t just add another name to the Grand Slam card; it made him feel like a legitimate threat who could steal the show on a major stage. The women’s division also received a meaningful spotlight, with MegaBad earning a future AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Match at Grand Slam. This was an important step in adding stakes and direction to the women’s tag scene, and the match that set up the title opportunity delivered in terms of energy and crowd engagement. MegaBad’s win gave the episode a sense of progression for the division, and their upcoming title shot now feels like a genuine attraction rather than a throwaway match. The way the segment was presented suggested that AEW intends to give this program real attention and narrative weight at Grand Slam. Perhaps the most shocking development of the entire episode was Brody King’s dominant performance over AEW World Champion MJF. In less than two minutes, Brody King squashed the champion in a way that immediately changed the tone of the main‑event scene. This was not a competitive back‑and‑forth contest; it was a brutal, one‑sided statement that made Brody look like a monster and raised serious questions about MJF’s trajectory heading into Grand Slam. Squash matches at this level are rare, and using one against the world champion sent a clear message that the title picture is far from stable. What made this episode especially effective was how these individual moments all fed into the larger build for AEW Grand Slam. Andrade’s qualification, MegaBad’s upcoming title opportunity, and Brody King’s destruction of MJF each added a different layer of intrigue: from athletic showcase to divisional stakes, to main‑event chaos. The show managed to balance in‑ring quality with narrative advancement, ensuring that the matches had consequences and that the audience was left with concrete reasons to tune in next week. Overall, this edition of AEW Dynamite was an all‑around fun and impactful show. The combination of strong matches, surprising outcomes, and clear forward movement toward AEW Grand Slam made the episode feel important rather than filler. As we head into Grand Slam next week, the card feels hotter, the stakes feel higher, and several key players—including Andrade, MegaBad, Brody King, and MJF—have compelling storylines that should carry significant interest into one of AEW’s marquee events.

The February 4th Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: The Don Callis Family (El Clon, Josh Alexander & Konosuke Takeshita) vs. The Death Riders (Daniel Garcia, Jon Moxley & PAC) (with Marnia Shafir) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: **** — In a fast-paced six-man tag, The Don Callis Family (El Clon, Josh Alexander & Konosuke Takeshita) battled The Death Riders (Daniel Garcia, Jon Moxley & PAC, with Marina Shafir) in a hard-hitting clash that showcased both teams’ chemistry and aggression. The bout featured intense striking exchanges, quick tags, and frequent momentum swings, earning a strong **** match rating for its intensity and in-ring storytelling.

The 2nd Match: Orange Cassidy & Toni Storm vs. Brittnie Brooks & Jordan Oasis in a Mixed Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This was a typical squash match in my eyes they could’ve left this off the show and give couple more minutes to other ceratin matches on the card but this whole story with Orange Cassidy and Toni Storm isn’t interesting nor is it something I wanna see every week please end this and have both respected wrestlers back chasing titles.

The 3rd Match: Adam Page vs. Mark Davis in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — Hard‑hitting, physical singles match. Page relies on speed and strikes early; Davis throws him around and grinds him down mid‑match. The closing stretch is built around counters to the Buckshot and Davis’ big powerbomb/piledriver near falls. Page finally hits the Buckshot for the win.

The 4th Match: Andrade El Ídolo (with Lance Archer) vs. Kenny Omega in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — High‑end workrate match. Andrade methodically targets a body part and slows Kenny down; Omega keeps firing back with snap dragons, dives, and V‑Triggers. Big counter sequences around the One‑Winged Angel and Andrade’s double knees, with several believable near falls before a decisive finish.

The 5th Match: Babes Of Wrath (Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale) [c] vs. MegaBad (Megan Bayne& Penelope Ford) in an AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Eliminator Match | The Match Rating: *** — Classic tag formula. MegaBad shines early off Bayne’s power and Penelope’s speed, then the champs isolate Ford and work heat. Big hot tag to Bayne, a couple of strong near falls for the challengers, but the champs regroup, take Ford out with their finisher while Bayne is neutralized on the floor.

The 6th Match: Ricochet (c) vs. Jack Perry in an AEW National Title Match | The Match Rating: ***.50  — Ricochet starts fast with slick counters and dives; Perry slows it down by targeting his back/neck and leaning into heel tactics. The closing stretch is full of counters, roll‑ups, and one big top‑rope near fall before Ricochet hits his big move to retain.

The Main Event Match: MJF [c] vs. Brody King in an AEW World Title Eliminator Match | The Match Rating: N/A — One of the most shocking squash matches I’ve ever seen as MJF was destroyed in less than two minutes as Brody King made a statement and now is going to the AEW Grand Slam in Australia to challenge for the AEW World Championship. Now with this much-needed momentum and elevation, we might see a new AEW World Champion next weekend in Australia.

The February 4th Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Match of the Night: Andrade El Ídolo (with Lance Archer) vs. Kenny Omega in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — This was the statement match for Andrade; he beat Swerve Strickland and now Kenny Omega. This already surpassed his 2nd WWE Run. Andrade, I would’ve had him win at the Grand Slam to face whoever has the AEW World Title at that moment in time, but man, I’m so happy for Andrade. This is how he should be booked as a Main Event Level Talent.

The February 4th Edition of AEW Dynamite — The Episode Grade: 7.75/10 (B) — This was a very strong episode that was based around very solid matches, and shocking moments as we saw Andrade punch his ticket to AEW Grand Slam, MegaBad have a future AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Match at Grand Slam, and Brody King squashed the AEW World Champion MJF in less than two minutes, just an all-around fun episode of AEW Dynamite as we head towards AEW Grand Slam next week.
