My Official Thoughts on the July 28th Episode of WWE NXT:

My Official Thoughts: This was a solid episode, rated C+ here. The standout was Grayson Waller, whose promo felt genuine. He’s frustrated with his trajectory since early 2025, when he began to be seen as a jobber and comedic act. However, he’s more than that, and with his second chance in WWE, he aims to prove why he was overlooked. The matches were decent, and I appreciated Cruz Montana’s appearance. NXT remains an engaging weekly show. I’m curious to see how Waller develops if he wins the NXT Title, especially with next week’s episode featuring three title matches. Overall, a strong NXT episode.

My Official Match Ratings for the July 28th WWE NXT Episode:

The Opening Match: Lizzy Rain vs. Izzi Dame (with Niko Vance) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **** — This was a very solid back-and-forth match. I'm not the biggest believer in Izzi Dame at the beginning of the year, but she has developed very well and is going to continue to grow all-around as a wrestler. This was one of her strongest in-ring performances in recent weeks. Lizzy Rain is a star in the making. She's so awesome, an awesome babyface. She was going really well in this match; I really liked the great moves she had on display. Her best trait is her charisma. But we saw Shawn Spears come out, which distracted Izzi Dame to help Lizzy Rain get the win over Izzi Dame in the opening match.

The 2nd Match: Myles Borne (c) vs. Kam Hendrix in a WWE NXT North American Title Match | The Match Rating: **.50 — Kam Hendrix, I don't really see it with this gimmick. He has been decent in the ring and has a lot of room for improvement, but this gimmick he has isn't good. I feel like he should change it up. This match was average to me. I did like some moments in this match, especially the aftermath where Mason Rook came out afterwards and attacked Kam Hendrix to continue that feud, but I do have a gut feeling that Tavion Heights will turn on Myles Borne eventually and be the one to take the title away from Myles Borne.

The 3rd Match: BirthRight (Channing Lorenzo & Uriah Connors) (with Arianna Grace, Charlie Dempsey & Lexis King) vs. OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ** — This match wasn't anything special to me. I know that tension in OTM has been brewing with Bronco Nima joining Los Perros del Mal in AAA, which in-fact member's of the stable came out to distract Bronco Nima, which let BirthRight get the win as Lucien Price was blindsided as Channing Lorenzo got the pin-fall victory. Is the tension growing as Lucien Price was annoyed? Are we seeing the end of OTM? Angel & Berto might have to tell Bronco Nima what to choose because having two teams won't work in the long run.

The Main Event Match: Shiloh Hill vs. Tristan Angels in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **.25 — This feud has officially ended. It seems like Tristan Angels, I think, lost almost every match in this feud, so can we even call this a feud? Shiloh Hill took down Tristan Angels after a two-month-long feud, which involved a tooth being stolen, which was interesting, trying something new in Creative Writing, but Shiloh Hill has now, in my eyes, put Tristan Angels in the past, as Tristan Angels is someone I'm high on who can be a very good heel for NXT and eventually move to the Main Roster.

My Official Match of the Night for the July 28th Episode of WWE NXT: Lizzy Rain vs. Izzi Dame (with Niko Vance) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **** — This was a very solid, back-and-forth match. I wasn’t the biggest believer in Izzi Dame earlier this year, but she’s improved a lot and should keep growing as a wrestler. This was one of her strongest recent performances. Lizzy Rain is a star in the making. She’s an excellent babyface with great charisma, and she looked really good here. I especially liked the moves she showed off. Shawn Spears’ interference distracted Izzi Dame, which helped Lizzy Rain get the win in the opening match.

My Official Highlight of the Show for the July 28th Episode of WWE NXT: Grayson Waller Passionate Promo -- The talk of last night’s episode as Grayson Waller made his first TV Apperence since being squashed by Oba Femi on Monday Night RAW back in April of this year since the start of 2025 he was floudnering as he wasn’t being used right, and was a jobber once New Day exited WWE. Now with this 2nd rebirth, this promo was well-done. Really hit the anil of Grayson Waller’s last two years, as he has been a joke and hasn’t done anything notable. Once touted as a future cocky heel that can elevate a wrestler is now back to rebuilding himself as he chases the WWE NXT Title, which Tony D’Angelo holds. This was a very well-done segment, and got me excited about what Grayson Waller does next.

My July 28th Official Episode Grade for WWE NXT: 6.75/10 (C+) — This was a very solid episode, even though I gave it a C+ here. What I have to say. Grayson Waller was the vocal talking point about this episode; his promo came from a real place. The man is frustrated with how his career has been since the beginning of 2025, when he started to become a jobber, and essentially a comedy act. But in reality he’s more than that, and with this 2nd rebirth in WWE he’s going to use that motivation to show why people missed out on him. The matches on the show were decent, and I did like how Cruz Montana was shown in this episode. NXT is a very enjoyable weekly show. I do wanna see how Grayson Waller progresses if he does manage to win the NXT Title, and next week’s episode is stacked with three title matches. But overall, a solid episode of NXT.
