My Thoughts on the February 11th Episode of AEW Dynamite:
My Thoughts: This was an excellent episode of AEW Dynamite. This was one of their best episodes in quite some time. I really enjoyed the opening segment with Kenny Omega and Swerve Strickland. I thought it added a lot of drama to feel that World Title scene, as well as both men chasing the gold. But this was some quality stuff I do enjoy watching, both men trade words back and forth, now next week they’ll battle it out. The matches on the show were so much fun, we saw two title changes. One huge, shocking change: Thekla is now the face of the AEW Women's Side. But this was all-around such a fun episode. This is why AEW Dynamite been one of the top weekly shows for a couple of years because of the quality and sticking to the roots of wrestling.
The February 11th Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: The Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley & PAC) (with Marnia Shafir) vs. The Don Callis Family (Josh Alexander, Konosuke Takeshita & Mark Davis) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — This match was very decent to open up AEW Dynamite. I like the semi-battle Jon Moxley and Konosuke Takeshita had before their battle at AEW Grand Slam in Australia this Saturday. But this was a very fun Six-Man Tag Team Match. I think it's very funny that Death Riders are faces in this feud, but with everything else, they're bad guys. But this was overall some fun quality stuff.
The 2nd Match: Tommaso Ciampa (c) vs. Kyle Fletcher (with Lance Archer) in an AEW TNT Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.75 — What a match, this right here showed me that Tommaso Ciampa fits like a glove in AEW, and these three matches he already has had in AEW have surpassed his WWE Main Roster run. But I didn't expect Tommaso Ciampa to lose his title this quickly. I actually thought some Don Callis Family stuff was going to occur on the outside to give Tommaso Ciampa an opening to find a way to win, but my goodness, what a match. I was on my feet watching the final minutes of this match. It was near fall after near fall. I thought Kyle Fletcher was going to lose, but he pulled through to become a 2x AEW TNT Champion. Tommaso Ciampa, in his 11 Day Reign as the AEW TNT Champion, elevated the belt in that short amount of time. Now Kyle Fletcher will get his homecoming as a champion. To top things off, I can't wait to see what else Tommaso Ciampa is going to do in AEW because he been on fire in WWE. He had a couple of good matches when he was allowed to go, like the Gunther Intercontinental Title Match and the Ilja Dragunov Title Match. Still, in AEW, he will consistently gibe use that instead of giving us that for every 6-7 months because of WWE’s poor booking.
The 3rd Match: The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong) vs. Clark Connors & Daniel Garcia in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ** — I’ve been saying this whole Orange Cassidy & Toni Storm storyline needs to end. I think this is one of the weaker points of the show. We also saw Roderick Strong walk away from Orange Cassidy, which was kinda shocking. But this was my least favorite match from tonight's great episode of AEW Dynamite. I just think once this whole Orange Cassidy & Toni Storm storyline ends, have them back in their respective positions. Like, have Orange Cassidy back in the AEW International Title Scene and have Toni Storm chase after someone like Thekla for the AEW Women's World Title. I just think this is one of the low points of every weekly Dynamite episode.
The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs. Private Party (Isiah Cassidy & Marq Quen) vs. The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Myron Reed) in an AEW World Tag Team Title No. 1 Contender’s Three-Way Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS. Private Party is back from their one-year hiatus. I remember there were reports last year that they were potentially leaving to join WWE. But I'm glad things have smoothed over now; they are back on good terms, because this AEW Tag Team Division is very packed. With them being back, it adds more depth to the division. But this match was very fun, also so happy for Myron Reed, I'm glad a major company took a chance on him, he’s been a great talent back in DPW. But I was kinda annoyed The Young Bucks won because of the fact that we seen them face FTR multiple times. I was more interested in seeing The Rascalz getting the opportunity, as they just recently signed it, would've been a great spot for them to be in an AEW World Tag Team Title Match, but overall, this was a fun Three-Way Tag, just unhappy with the winners, as I felt like it should've been The Rascalz.
The Main Event Match: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Thekla in an AEW Women’s World Title Strap Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — This has to be one of the most shocking title changes I've seen in a while because I didn't expect Thekla to come out as the new AEW Women's World Champion, but she did it. Her grind to the top has been fun to watch. I always thought of her as an upper-mid card person, but she proved me wrong, and I'm glad she did because her performance in this match was very good. Kris Statlander’s reign ends, but she had some great matches during this reign. Do I think it should've been better booked storywise, yes. But I did enjoy this Main Event. I'm very glad that we got some shocking moments throughout this show. I have a feeling Thekla is going to have a very fun run. Also, Jamie Hayter came back, which made me happy as well.
The February 11th Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Match of the Night: Tommaso Ciampa (c) vs. Kyle Fletcher (with Lance Archer) in an AEW TNT Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.75 — This was amazing, this was such a great match. Even though Tommaso Ciampa’s reign was only eleven days long, those were some fun eleven days. Kyle Fletcher heads into his home country as champion. This is what AEW is best at: doing amazing professional wrestling matches.
The February 11th Edition of AEW Dynamite — The Episode Grade: 9.25/10 (A) — This episode of AEW Dynamite was outstanding, one of the best in recent memory. I especially enjoyed the opening with Kenny Omega and Swerve Strickland, which added excitement to the World Title scene and highlighted both men’s pursuit of gold. Their exchange was engaging, and their upcoming match promises to be thrilling. The show featured two title changes, including a surprising one—Thekla becoming the new face of the AEW Women’s division. Overall, it was a highly entertaining episode, exemplifying why AEW Dynamite remains a top weekly show for years, thanks to its quality and commitment to wrestling’s roots.
