My Official Thoughts on the July 22nd Episode of AEW Dynamite:

My Official Thoughts: Overall enjoyable episode of Dynamite as we're heading towards AEW Redemption this Sunday. We had some serious progression as Kevin Knight retained his AEW TNT Title, and he now goes to AEW Redemption in the Main Event against Kenny Omega for the AEW World Title. Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay finally had some development involving The Young Bucks. I thought Divine Dominion needed some better opponents in the future, someone who we will feel are threats for their AEW Women's World Title. But other than that, a very solid episode of AEW Dynamite.

My Official Match Ratings for the July 22nd AEW Dynamite Episode:

The Opening Match: Kevin Knight (c) vs. Darby Allin in an AEW TNT Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — This was a strong performance. Furthermore, this makes Kevin Knight a huge threat going into Sunday for AEW Redemption. I thought this match was the Match of the Night. I really liked the fact that AEW has been booking Kevin Knight; he's feeling like the next major superstar of AEW. He's main-eventing AEW Redemption against Kenny Omega for the AEW World Title. Beating Darby Allin, who just came off a great AEW World Title run. But this was a great all-around fun opener for the Nashville Crowd. Kevin Knight will win an AEW World Title in a year.

The 2nd Match: Brodido (Bandido & Brody King) vs. Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada & Kyle Fletcher) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: **** — This was a good match, creating chaos between Kazuchika Okada and Kyle Fletcher, especially for Kyle Fletcher, who's facing Bandido for the AEW International Championship at AEW Redemption. But the moment everyone was talking about in this match was the accidental Rain-Maker to Kyle Fletcher, as friendly fire occurred during this match, which Brodido captizalied off of to get the win. But this creates more drama & intrigue for the AEW International Title Match this coming Sunday at AEW Redemption.

The 3rd Match: Jay White vs. Clark Connors in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: *** — Jay White has been gone for a while. This match is like he's still working off rust from being away. This match was okay; in some parts it seemed like he wasn't hitting on all cylinders. Also, seeing him make Clark Connors submit instead of hitting the Bladerunner to get the win was different. But this match was okay. Jay White, I give him some time before we get the Jay White we once knew, but slowly he's getting back to his old form, in my opinion.

The 4th Match: Divine Dominion (Lena Kross & Megan Bayne) (c) vs. Sisters Of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) in an AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title No Disqualification Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — I think it's time for Tony Khan to give better challengers for Divine Dominion because it's not believable that the Sister of Sins is beating Divine Dominion for the AEW Women's World Title. But this match had a No DQ stipulation. I did enjoy certain parts of this match. I did like the chaos that occurred in this match, but it's getting predictable that Divine Dominion will retain each time.

The Main Event Match: Death Riders (Jon Moxley & Will Ospreay) & Kenny Omega vs. Don Callis Family (Brian Cage, Hechicero & Jake Doyle) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — As usual, I expected the team of Death Riders & Kenny Omega to get the win over The Don Callis Family. The match was okay, but what happened after the match is what I really cared about. The tensions between Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay grew as we saw as well The Young Bucks come into the ring and brawl with the Death Riders' Jon Moxley & Will Ospreay, whom they're facing this Sunday at AEW Redemption. But those after-match activities were entertaining, giving a good build towards the Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay match for ALL IN London, as this was needed to start furthermore build it to make it seem personal, not a friendly feud.

My Official Match of the Night for the July 22nd Episode of AEW Dynamite: Kevin Knight (c) vs. Darby Allin in an AEW TNT Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — This was a strong performance, making Kevin Knight a major threat for AEW Redemption Sunday. I thought this match was the Match of the Night and liked how AEW has been booking Knight; he’s feeling like a future AEW superstar. He’s main-eventing against Kenny Omega for the AEW World Title, having beaten Darby Allin after his great run. It was a fun opener for Nashville, and I believe Kevin Knight will win the AEW World Title within a year.

My July 22nd Official Episode Grade for AEW Dynamite: 7/10 (B-) — Overall, an enjoyable episode of Dynamite as we head toward AEW Redemption this Sunday. Kevin Knight retained his AEW TNT Title and now challenges Kenny Omega for the AEW World Title in the main event. Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay finally progressed their story with The Young Bucks. Divine Dominion, however, still needs stronger challengers for their AEW Women’s World Title. Otherwise, a solid show.
