My Official Thoughts on the May 6th Episode of AEW Dynamite:

My Official Thoughts: A very decent episode of Dynamite, not like the great episode last week, but the Main Event saved this episode with Kevin Knight having a spectacular performance once again against the AEW World Champion, Darby Allin. But the rest of the show, the matches were okay, could've been a lot better, but they were okay. Next week, we have Kazuchika Okada challenging for the AEW World Title, which is amazing. The match is going to rock, as I think Darby Allin will have another stellar performance. But other than that, like I said very decent episode, but could've been a lot better in my opinion.

The May 6th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Official Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Jon Moxley [c] vs. Juice Robinson in an AEW Continental Title Eliminator Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — This wasn't a horrible match by any means. I saw some people dislike it on Social Media. It wasn't their best match together, but these two have a lot of history together. If you go back to NJPW, I believe Juice Robinson was Jon Moxley’s first NJPW opponent when he left WWE in 2019. So seeing these two go at it was cool. I never expected Jon Moxley to lose an Eliminator Match; he just wants to get his minutes in, but in the end, Jon Moxley came away with the win over Juice Robinson, and his story with Will Ospreay is very confusing to me at this moment in time.

The 2nd Match: Orange Cassidy (with Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, Kyle O’Reilly, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson & Roderick Strong) [c] [World Trios] vs. Dax Harwood (with Cash Wheeler, Clark Connors, David Finlay, Rocky Romero, Stokely, Tommaso Ciampa & Trent Beretta) [c] [World Tag Team] in an AEW World Tag Team Title / AEW World Trios Title No. 1 Contender’s Double Jeopardy Match | The Match Rating: **.75 — This was one sloppy match, so many people on the outside, and the in-ring action wasn't all that I really wanted something more serious, but this match was one big mess to me. I was surprised to see Orange Cassidy getting the win. Now they have a future AEW World Tag Team Title shot against the Conglomeration. But this whole match had some potential to be fun, but with everyone on the outside, it really ruined the match for me.

The 3rd Match: Kazuchika Okada (with Lance Archer) (c) vs. Bryan Keith in an AEW International Title Match | The Match Rating: **.25 — Kazuchika Okada is a very funny wrestler; he doesn't go 100% on TV, but when he needs to, there's a reason for his greatness. He went up against Bryan Keith as he defended his AEW International Title. This match was nothing notable to me, just felt like a filler match. We knew Kazuchika Okada wasn't dropping his AEW International Title to Bryan Keith, but I wish the match had been a lot better than what we got. Next week, Kazuchika Okada will be going after Darby Allin as he challenges for the AEW World Title.

The 4th Match: Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander vs. Harley Cameron & Mina Shirakawa in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: *** — Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander have been an interesting unit as they take on Harley Cameron & Mina Shirakawa in some Tag Team Action. This was the 3rd Best Match of the Night, which wasn't bad by any means. I knew Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander were going to come out victorious in the process in which they did so. But this match was cool, not complaining. I'm glad that Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander at least have something to do in the meantime.

The Main Event Match: Darby Allin (c) vs. Kevin Knight in an AEW World Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — A very enjoyable match. The Jet is simply the next big thing in this company. He has everything you want in a champion, and already has two world title matches under his belt this year. Darby Allin is having a glorious run as champion, already having three great title defenses. This match is simply showing the future of Kevin Knight. He went and showed out like he always does. Had some near-falls but came up short in the end of things. I do think Darby Allin is on a crazy run, and has PAC & Kazuchika Okada to worry about next, but this has been simply a great title reign by Darby Allin.

The May 6th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Match of the Night: Darby Allin (c) vs. Kevin Knight in an AEW World Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — The match was very enjoyable. The Jet is the next big star, with two world title matches this year, showing great potential. Darby Allin is having a remarkable reign, with three title defenses, proving his strength. Kevin Knight demonstrated promise, had near-falls, but ultimately lost. Darby Allin’s run is impressive, with future challenges from PAC & Kazuchika Okada. Overall, a great title reign by Darby Allin.

The May 6th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Official Episode Grade: 6.75/10 (C+) — A decent episode of Dynamite, though not as great as last week. The main event saved the show, with Kevin Knight delivering another spectacular performance against AEW World Champion Darby Allin. The other matches were okay, but could’ve been better. Next week’s AEW World Title match with Kazuchika Okada should be amazing, and I expect another stellar performance from Darby. Overall, a decent episode that could have been much better.
