My Thoughts on the January 21st Episode of AEW Dynamite:

My Thoughts: A very fun episode of AEW Dynamite. I really liked how this show was spaced out, enjoyed the opener between Mike Bailey and Samoa Joe, a very good match, and let's hope Samoa Joe can re-enter the AEW World Title picture again. The Death Riders put down The Don Callis Family in a very fun Street Fight. Alec Pierce and Jordan Oliver made their official AEW Debut, and they took on the AEW World Tag Team Champions in FTR, which is such a big thing that they suffered a loss, but in the process were made to be some pieces of the future. Very excited to see what these guys do. Kenny Omega turned back the clock and got the win over Josh Alexander. Kenny Omega looked so great in the match seems like his body is starting to get healthy, and he's starting to get more aggressive with his pursuit of the AEW World Title. Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford get a massive win and are climbing the AEW Women's World Tag Team ladder, as I can see them winning the titles in the coming months. The Main Event we saw an awesome match, it seemed like Swerve Strickland gave a big rub to Kevin Knight as he put on a hell of a performance and danced with one of the best in a very fun match. AEW has been on a roll, and it doesn't seem like anytime soon they're gonna slow down. Great stuff by everyone on the show.

The January 21st Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Samoa Joe (with Hook & Katsuyori Shibata) vs. Mike Bailey in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — This was a very solid opener having Samoa Joe the leader of The Opps taking on the new AEW World Trios Champion Mike Bailey I did expect Samoa Joe to get the win because he's a killer and should be treated as one but I love this style of match, and thought they had some good chemistry in the ring. Mike Baile is someone I expect to take a huge leap in AEW this year, same with his JetSpeed buddy Kevin Knight, but this was a solid opener and set the tempo for the entirety of the AEW Dynamite Episode.

The 2nd Match: Death Riders (Daniel Garcia, Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta) (with Marina Shafir) vs. The Don Callis Family (Hechicero, Lance Archer & Rocky Romero) in a Six-Man Tag Team Street Fight | The Match Rating: ***.50 — This was a very fun Six-Man Tag Team Street Fight. We know The Death Riders have issues with the Don Callis Family at this point in time. I don't even know if the Death Riders are babyfaces or heels or tweakers. But they have been solid as of late, and for the Don Callis Family, they came up short against the Deah Riders, suffering a massive loss.

The 3rd Match: FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. Alec Price & Jordan Oliver in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: **.75 — The official debuts of Alec Price and Josh Oliver, who recently were offered contracts and were told by MJF they're All Elite, which was a great moment; they finally appeared on Dynamite, and I can tell the future is bright for both men as they faced against the AEW World Tag Team Champions in FTR. This was a very short match, but it did what it needed to do to establish Alec Price and Josh Oliver in my eyes. It did the job, as now both men who had a good showing are going to be looked at as a team that can maybe be future faces in the Tag Team Division. Now, for FTR, they have to worry about Jake Doyle and Mark Davis as they're coming for the AEW World Tag Team Titles, and will be FTR's next challengers.

The 4th Match: Kenny Omega vs. Josh Alexander in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — This was indeed a sick match. Kenny Omega looked great in this match. He seemingly got healthier, and the time he got off has helped a lot with his body. We want to see as much as we can of Kenny Omega. Josh Alexander, we knew in 2021 people wanted these two to fight when Kenny Omega was the TNA World Champion, but the wait was worth it. I really enjoyed Josh Alexander's performance in this match. He displayed a lot of offensive action and used his heel tactics. I liked the V Triggers and Terminator Dive that was nice to see, but Kenny Omega heading into overdrive, as we know he's in the pursuit of the AEW World Title.

The 5th Match: Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford vs. Timeless Love Bombs (Mina Shirakawa & Toni Storm) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — I'm a huge Megan Bayne fan, and I'm glad she and Penelope Ford got a massive win over Mina Shirakawa and Toni Storm much needed for them as a tag team. But Megan Bayne is someone I hope when she's done with the Tag Team Stuff she should enter in the AEW Women's World Title picture, she's someone who can easily be a face of the Women's Division, and they need to captilize off of her this coming year.

The Main Event Match: Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) vs. Kevin Knight in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — Sometimes, a younger wrestler needs to swim with the sharks to really test whether they have it. Some fail, some succeed. But with Kevin Knight and his performance against the former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland, he swam, and he delivered. This was an awesome match, and I loved it for many reasons. I loved the chemistry and the offensive battles both men were showing. I loved how Kevin Knight treated this like the most important thing for him, and Swerve Strickland really understood the assignment as one of the faces of the company who's helping to shape the future of the company, and he did that by putting over Kevin Knight big-time. Even in a loss, Kevin Knight shone. He stood toe-to-toe with one of the top stars and delivered. I'm so happy and proud of Kevin Knight. He has been someone who made nothing into something, and I hope it pays off. Amazing stuff by both men, and I hope they clash in the future in a Main Event of a Major AEW PPV.
