My Official Thoughts on the June 24th Episode of AEW Dynamite:
My Official Thoughts: This was one of the most matches I’ve seen on a Dynamite in quite a while, eight in total, so anyone who attended definitely got their money’s worth. It was also a very strong episode overall, and I’m really excited for AEW Forbidden Door. AEW has done a good job building the show, so I’m looking forward to seeing what happens this Sunday. The pacing never really slowed down, which made the episode feel even bigger than usual. If AEW can keep this momentum going, Forbidden Door could wind up being one of their best events of the year.
My Official Match Ratings for the June 24th AEW Dynamite Episode:
The Opening Match: Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta) (with Marnia Shafir) vs. Brodido (Bandido & Brody King) & Mistico in a Six-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: **** — Brodido & Mistico suffered the loss, which makes me believe that Bandido is going to win the title this Sunday against Jon Moxley. Or is Moxley Reign of Terror going to continue onward?
The 2nd Match: Harley Cameron vs. Marnia Shafir in an AEW TBS Title Survival Of The Fittest Qualifying Match | The Match Rating: **.25 — I can't believe Harley Cameron won over Marnia Shafir. Harley Cameron is probably one of the workers that I wish Tony Khan would stop giving a lot of chances to, because I feel like others deserve it more.
The 3rd Match: Will Ospreay vs. El Phantasmo in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **** — This was a decent match for Will Ospreay as he got the win using a Hidden Blade. What I'm excited about is him and Swerve Strickland. I have stated this many times, I do think the winner will win the AEW World Title at ALL IN, so my best bet is Ospreay.
The 4th Match: Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) vs. Daniel Garcia in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — Swerve Strickland, who got a win over Death Rider's Daniel Garcia. This was a very solid match to me. Swerve Strickland gets one more win before his match against Will Ospreay this Sunday at AEW Forbidden Door, as I expect that match to be a Match of the Year Contender.
The 5th Match: Zack Sabre Jr. (with Bad Dude Tito & Mikey Nicholls) vs. Jack Perry in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — Zack Sabre Jr. getting some wins, before his match against Kenny Omega at AEW Forbidden Door, is smart, but this was very decent, and in the end, Zack Sabre Jr. submitted Jack Perry for the win.
The 6th Match: The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs. TMDK (Bad Dude Tito & Mikey Nicholls) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This was a very quick match, as The Young Bucks made quick work out of the TMDK’s Bad Dude Tito & Mikey Nicholls as they get the win, now The Young Bucks have to focus on their match this Sunday in the Three-Way Tag Team Match.
The 7th Match: Queen Aminata vs. Red Velvet in an AEW TBS Title Survival Of The Fittest Qualifying Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — Very happy that Queen Aminata won, and is in the AEW TBS Title Match, that's slated for next week's AEW Dynamite. But this match was very solid against two very solid wrestlers, as Red Velvet looked good in this match, but she came up just a little short in the process.
The Main Event Match: Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs. Ricochet in an AEW International Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — This was the best match from the show. Konosuke Takeshita and Ricochet tore it down in this AEW International Title Match. I thought the action in the ring was very solid, and Konosuke Takeshita picked up the win and retained his AEW International Title.
My Official Match of the Night for the June 24th Episode of AEW Dynamite: Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs. Ricochet in an AEW International Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — Konosuke Takeshita and Ricochet delivered the match of the night in this AEW International Title bout. The in-ring action was strong throughout, and Takeshita secured the victory to retain his AEW International Championship.
My June 24th Official Episode Grade for AEW Dynamite: 7.50/10 (B) — This was the most matches I have seen on a Dynamite in a long time, eight matches, so whoever went to this event got their money’s worth. But this was a very strong episode, very excited for AEW Forbidden Door. I do think AEW has been building this show up well, so I’m hyped to see what transpires this Sunday.
