My Thoughts on the March 25th Episode of AEW Dynamite:

My Thoughts: A very well-written episode of AEW Dynamite, I thought all the matches that occurred on this episode were fun to watch, even mixed in with the segments. This was a very well-written episode of Dynamite, a lot better than last week’s episode. But now we’re looking towards AEW Dynasty as we're starting to get everything together for that event in Canada.

The March 25th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Official Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Kenny Omega vs. Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) in an AEW World Title No. 1 Contender’s vs. Kenny Omega’s EVP Position Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — This wasn't like the first match between these two, but it was still one hell of a match. We got Kenny Omega, whose EVP Status is on the line. If Swerve Strickland wins, he still holds his No. 1 Contender token and becomes an EVP. But if Kenny Omega wins, he gets MJF at AEW Dynasty for the AEW World Title. I like the in-ring psychology of this match. I really think what was missing was that they didn't get into that 5th gear they did in the first match, but as I said, this was a very fun match. I'm glad this kicked things off for the show, having it as the opener of Dynamite. I think MJF being challenged by Kenny Omega gives me the sense that we could see Kenny Omega once again become AEW World Champion, which would be something I’ve been craving for since 2020. But we have to see what direction they'll go because, at the end of the day, Swerve Strickland isn't someone who forgets. Especially with him being a heel now, he'll probably have some interference during that AEW World Title Match at AEW Dynasty. But again, awesome match, wished it hit another gear, but I'm very happy with the match outcome.

The 2nd Match: Death Riders (Daniel Garcia, Jon Moxley & Marnia Shafir) (with Wheeler Yuta) vs. SkyFlight (Dante Martin, Darius Martin & Zayda Steel) (with Christopher Daniels) in a Mixed Six-Person Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — SkyFlight getting this spot was very cool, this Mixed Six-Person Tag Team Match I didn't even know was going to occur but this was a very decent match. Zayda Steel was the spotlight of this match. She is someone I'm banking on to be a Women's Champion within AEW soon, in a couple of years, as she continues to develop her skillset. But the Death Riders come away with the win as they are dealing with an angry Will Ospreay, who's going to be facing PAC next week in Canada on AEW Dynamite.

The 3rd Match: Mike Bailey vs. Rocky Romero in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This was a quick match, but Mike Bailey got the job quick as he made quick work of Don Callis Member Rocky Romero in a matter of two minutes. I really want more with Mike Bailey as he’s one of my favorite in-ring people in AEW, so hoping he gets a major opportunity soon, and even though he’s 1/3 of the AEW World Trios Titles, I just want him to showcase positively more like he was here.

The 4th Match: The Dogs (Clark Connors & David Finlay) vs. The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — I was quite worried if The Dogs were going to lose, but luckily they got the win in this match. Roderick Strong, even at an old age, is still moving like he was in ROH and WWE. He's just a treat to watch because he's that damn good in the square circle. The Dogs were awesome in this match, especially David Finlay, who was doing a lot in this match. I just wanna say this, I feel like Orange Cassidy hit his ceiling in AEW as a face. I really would like to see him have a character shift so that it provides something new and fresh for him as a wrestler, seeing how he has been dwindling for quite some time now. I would like an unexpected heel turn that could revitalize his career in AEW.

The 5th Match: Thekla (c) vs. Mina Shirakawa in an AEW Women’s World Title Match | The Match Rating: *** — Mina Shirakawa has been in a big-spot these past two weeks with being the one who walked in the room to a bloodied up Toni Storm then taking her spot in the Marnia Shafir Match to beat Marnia Shafir now had a AEW Women's World Title Match? She has been on a roll with her bookings. Thekla got the win as expected. I didn't see her losing this match, but this also leads me to believe that Mina Shirakawa is the reason Toni Storm is out. I know Toni Storm is expected to be out for the whole 2026 calendar year. This could be a great storyline. I hope they don't fumble this whatsoever.

The Main Event Match: Darby Allin vs. Rush in a No Count Out Match | The Match Rating: **** — Rush in an AEW Dynamite Main Event Match? Hell yeah. I really was looking forward to this, for one, it's Rush, who I believe is one of the most underbooked wrestlers in AEW, two, Darby Allin is like a stuffed toy, so he always goes to the high stakes to make a match great, and three, it's two of the top in-ring wrestlers within the company. I really enjoyed this. It’s cool to see Rush. He can be a valuable piece for this scene. I wish they would continue to use him after this show, but Darby Allin gets the win as he's also in the pursuit of trying to get MJF the AEW World Title, so the Main Event Scene is shaping up as we enter into the Spring.

The March 25th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Match of the Night: Kenny Omega vs. Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) in an AEW World Title No. 1 Contender’s vs. Kenny Omega’s EVP Position Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — Like I said in my match rating section, this was an awesome match, but it was lacking the final gear for this match. I'm happy with the outcome, as I thought it made the best sense, but I want to see this feud continue to develop, as we know it’s just getting started.

The March 25th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Official Episode Grade: 8.25/10 (B+) — A great rebound from last week’s mess of an episode, AEW Dynamite was filled with great action, and segments from this episode. Kenny Omega is now back as the No. 1 Contender for the Top Prize in the company, which made me super happy, and we saw Rush get a big spot on this show. An overall strong episode of AEW Dynamite, very much looking forward to next week’s show, where they head to Canada.

Next Week AEW Dynamite April 1st Episode in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Live on TBS — The Announced Matches & Segments:

  1. PAC vs. Will Ospreay in a Singles Match.

  2. Brody King, Jack Perry & Kenny Omega vs. The Demand (Bishop Kaun, Ricochet & Toa Liona) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match.
