My Thoughts on the August 13th Episode of AEW Dynamite:
My Thoughts: This was one of the weaker Dynamite episodes, which surprised me considering the tone and what was planned for a filler episode vibe, but we did get a very fun All-Star Eight-Man Tag Team Match and the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Adam Copeland and Christian Cage reuniting the legendary tag team. There were some good moments, and next week in Scotland, we have a highly energetic crowd in store, and I can’t wait for that. match card for the show.
The August 13th Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Jon Moxley (with Marina Shafir & Wheeler Yuta) vs. Kevin Knight (with Mike Bailey) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — A good hard hard-hitting opener with Jon Moxley having a solid outing, same with Kevin Knioght, who's one of my favorites in AEW at this moment in time. I think this match was fun, had some high-flying action from Kevin Knight, and Jon Moxley was brawling like great, and we saw Jon Moxley working on Kevin Knight's abdomen a lot in this match, weakening it, trying to get the advantage. This was a great way to end the match with the submission and after the match chaos.
2nd Match: Alex Windsor, Queen Aminata & Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Moné & Triangle Of Madness (Skye Blue & Thekla) (with Julia Hart) in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — This was a quick-paced match, and I thought Alex Windsor looked great. Willow Nightingale gave this match the energy it needed with her hard-hitting and awesome intensity. The heels did their job as they were doing the dirty tactics, and Thekla has been very impressive since she arrived in AEW, and I think she has done a great job. SKye Blue needs something because her in-ring performance hasn't been up to par for my liking. But this match set up an all-star women's tag in Scotland with Alex Windsor & Tomi Storm taking on Athena and Mercedes Moné.
3rd Match: Adam Copeland vs. Stokley in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This match was a ploy to get FTR to come out and attack, and that is what happened as FTR attacked and Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian came out but Christian Cage came out and saved his long-time best friend and brother and the moment they embraced with a loud recpetion the legendary tag team is back in the wrestling world. They’ll be fighting at Forbidden Door against Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne in their first match back together since 2011.
4th Match: Brody King, The Conglormeration (Hologram & Tomohiro Ishii) & Hiromu Takahashi vs. The Don Callis Family (Josh Alexander & Kyle Fletcher) & The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) in an Eight-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: **** — The best match from Dynamite. I liked seeing Hiromu Takahashi teaming up with Brody King, Hologram, and Tomohiro Ishii to take on Josh Alexander and the AEW TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher, with the Young Bucks aligning with them in this all-star tag team matchup. We saw the babyface's team get the win, and The Young Buck is irate as they have been on a downhill spiral since losing at ALL IN Texas.
The Main Event Match: The Opps (Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs & Samoa Joe) vs. La Faccion Ingobernable (Dralistico, Rush & The Beast Mortos) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: **.50 — Samoa Joe has made his return with the Opps. This was an okay Main Event it wasn't anything special. La Faccion Ingobernable has been a team that takes the pins every match they are involved in, which I'm not shocked about, sadly, with how they have been presented as of recent.
The August 13th Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Match of the Night: Brody King, The Conglormeration (Hologram & Tomohiro Ishii) & Hiromu Takahashi vs. The Don Callis Family (Josh Alexander & Kyle Fletcher) & The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) in an Eight-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ****
The August 13th Edition of AEW Dynamite — The Episode Grade: 6.50/10 (C+) — This was one of the weaker Dynamite Episodes, which I was even shocked about after looking at the match card for tonight and what was slated for the show. It did give a filler episode energy, but we had a very fun All-Star Eight-Man Tag Team Match and the moment we’ve been waiting for as Adam Copeland and Christian Cage have reunited the legendary tag team. Some good moments, as next week in Scotland we have a highly energetic crowd in-store, and I can’t wait for that.
Next Week AEW Dynamite August 20th Episode — The Announced Matches & Segments:
Athena & Mercedes Moné vs. Alex Windsor & Toni Storm in a Tag Team Match.
FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Hardwood) vs. Brodidio (Bandido & Brody King) in an AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament Final Match.
