My Thoughts on the August 27th Episode of AEW Dynamite:

My Thoughts: What an amazing episode of AEW Dynamite in the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I have to say what I saw tonight was just a fun all-around episode fun matches and brutal moments from the Main Event Match. AEW Dynamite has had their best year. I don't remember a very awful episode this year has been just a boat-load of fun being a fan of AEW. But this was a very fun episode, and they need to return frequently to the 2300 Arena. I know WWE did it last year, but AEW needs to do it again.

The August 27th Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Jon Moxley (with Marnia Shafir & Wheeler Yuta) vs. Daniel Garcia (with Matt Menard) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — A very solid opener for AEW Dynamite. Daniel Garcia, as of late, has been trying to find his footing since losing the AEW TNT Title. He has been in limbo. This match was very good. It reminded me of their match from 2022, but at that time, those were two different wrestlers than what they are today. But I did enjoy this. The chemistry they have is very solid. They know how to put some solid matches together, but at the end of it all, Jon Moxley gets the win, and I wonder if this string of losses and missed opportunities is the seed to a Daniel Garcia heel turn?

The 2nd Match: Harley Cameron & Kris Statlander vs. Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: *** — This was the weakest match from the show tonight. Harley Cameron is very okay too me. She didn't do much for me in this match, but Kris Statlander was putting together a good one. Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford, once the AEW Women's Tag Team Titles are revealed or made, they need to be the ones who win them first. They have been a very solid team and a team that has been highlighted a lot. But this was a very average and my least favorite match from this AEW Dynamite Episode.

The 3rd Match: The Don Callis Family (Hechicero, Josh Alexander, Kazuchika Okada & Konosuke Takeshita) (with Wardlow) vs. Brodidio (Bandido & Brody King) & JetSpeed (Kevin Knight & Mike Bailey) in an Eight-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — Tony Khan goes to the Eight-Man All-Star Tags, and 99.9% of the time, they are always enjoyable, with some great spots. This match was super fun as Don Callis Family came off a successful night at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door, where they revealed that Wardlow is aligned with them to bring more added muscle to the group. We saw Kazuchika Okada get the win against Swerve Strickland. In this match, we saw some fun back-and-forth we the new AEW World Tag Team Champions, Brodido and JetSpeed, helping along the way, but it wasn't enough as the Don Callis Family got the win and added more momentum and heat to their group.

The 4th Match: The Opps (Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs & Samoa Joe) (c) vs. Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) & Ricochet in an AEW World Trios Title Match | The Match Rating: **.75 — This was a very fun AEW World Trios Title Match. Gates of Agony and Ricochet as a unit have been working to perfection. I like the fact that Ricochet has his own faction, and it has helped him a lot. They just need one more member, and I feel like the faction is in place. The Opps looked awesome in this match; they did their thing. As Ricochet was setting himself up on the top rope, MVP cracked him on the lower backside, causing him to get destroyed by each Opps Member, which caused him to lose the match. Very fun match, and now we see where this new Ricochet Group is going, as they will be feuding with The Hurt Syndicate.

The Main Event Match: Darby Allin vs. Claudio Castagnoli in a Falls Count Anywhere Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — This match was a very much tribute to ECW. This was a car wreck of a match, but I really enjoyed this. Darby Allin is one of the best wrestlers and in general character in AEW. Today, he's like the modern-day Jeff Hardy. That's the vibe I get from him: a mixture of Sting, Raven, and Jeff Hardy. But this was a very fun match as expected, Darby Allin gets the win and the last laugh as the Death Riders afterwards try to get at Darby Allin but couldn't. AEW gave a nice tribute to ECW, and it's nice to see, knowing Tony Khan was a huge ECW Fan.
