My Thoughts on the August 6th Episode of AEW Dynamite:

My Thoughts: Marvelous episode of AEW Dynamite. The opener between Jon Moxley and Mike "Speedball" Bailey. Very quick-paced and a fun way to open the show. I'm glad Jon Moxley isn't doing his Bloodsport style anymore; that's what used to drag his match quality down. But it was a fun opener with Jon Moxley going on top with him next week taking on Kevin Knight, who's Mike Bailey's tag partner. Alex Windsor won the 4-Way Match to earn her a spot in the AEW TBS Title Match. I wanted Billie Starkz to win, but it didn't happen. Afterwards, Mercedes Moné got Alex Windsor. As with Athena, she took down Toni Storm. It was a good way to make both women look strong. Brodido took down the legendary Young Bucks in a shocking elimination. I thought the Young Bucks and FTR were going to be in the finals, but it'll be Brodies and FTR, it seems, to fight for a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Titles at Forbidden Door against The Hurt Syndicate. The Main Event we saw was MJF and Mark Briscoe in a Grudge Match, as MJF got the win, but afterwards, Adam Page and MJF brawled as the show closed off. This was a very fun episode, not a single bad match, and we saw some upsets and fresh stories continuing to progress. I have nothing negative to say about AEW as of recent have been exceptional.

The August 6th Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Jon Moxley (with Marnia Shafir & Wheeler Yuta) vs. Mike Bailey (with Kevin Knight) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — Jon Moxley, something struck a fire in him because he has been tremendous as of late in the ring. Mike Bailey, Mr. Speedball, was awesome in this match. He's one of the sickest wrestlers in AEW, and this match was made a day before the show, and it was such a great opener for Dynamite. A very long, drama-filled back-and-forth match. Kevin Knight was by the ringside, trying to stop the chaos if the Death Riders tried to do anything. Mike Bailey had some moments where I thought an upset was going to happen, but it didn't. Jon Moxley got the win, and next week, Jon Moxley will look to take on Mike Bailey's tag partner, Kevin Knight, in some singles action, and I can't wait for that match.

2nd Match: Alex Windsor (with Toni Storm) vs. Billie Starkz (with Athena) vs. Queen Aminata vs. Skye Blue in an AEW TBS Title Forbidden Door Four-Way Qualifier Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — AEW Quality in 4-Way Matches has been great this year, and this match is super fun. I thought the right choice was Billie Starkz to have her and Athena have a title match at the same time at Forbidden Door in a few weeks. Queen Aminata is so underrated. She was doing everything in this match, and I wish she had more of a sustainable push because she can be used so much more in AEW if Tony Khan can book her properly. Alex Windsor, who won this match, was great in this match as well as her booking since being All Elite has been excellent. She already had a Title Match with Athena and tagged alongside the AEW Women's World Champion, Toni Storm. Skye Blue was okay in this match this year. She hasn't done anything to wow me as of late couple of years ago, I thought she would be a valuable piece, but she has been a pin-eater of filling up some matches. But this was a boatload of fun. Alex Windsor gains an opportunity to potentially win the AEW TBS Title from the unstoppable and the belt collector Mercedes Moné.

3rd Match: Brodido (Bandido & Brody King) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) in an AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament Semi-Final Match | The Match Rating: ****.75 — What a crazy tag team tournament match. The Young Bucks, who have been dealing with their issues since losing the EVP Titles. They have been in a sort of midlife crisis as they have been in the midst of being humiliated by everyone in AEW. Brodido is a tag team I didn't know I needed because they are awesome you have the ROH World Champion Bandido with Brody King who I have been on record stating he's one of the most underrated person in AEW and needed to be treated like a awesome it seems like they heard me as they piulled off a huge upset and onto the Final Round of the AEW World Tag Team Number One Contender Tournament as they took down The Young Bucks. Brodido in the short time has helped the AEW Tag Division tremendously. I hope this team continues, and I hope they face The Hurt Syndicate at AEW Forbidden Door. Now, for the Young Bucks, I wonder what they'll do now that they are eliminated from the tournament. They have been making this storyline work, and I want to see how it concludes with them turning face and redoing their wrongs? We'll find out.

The Main Event Match: MJF vs. Mark Briscoe in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **** — Now the Grundge Match has happened between MJF, who fought a rare Dynamite Match as he doesn't usually fight on weekly episodes of Dynamite, but this was a fun way to, I think end the feud between him and Mark Briscoe. This was a fun feud for MJF, as this was very entertaining, as he and Mark Briscoe had, in my opinion of the most underrated feuds from AEW this year. It has been going on for months and hit me, and I thought this was a great feud for MJF. Now I wish Mark Briscoe had won this feud, but he looked great regardless, with the promo battles and match he had with MJF. Adam Page made the save after the match as he protected Mark Briscoe from MJF. MJF is one of the best heels in today's wrestling, and I am excited for his and Adam Page's future match. They have done a good job building the story and the pending 2nd match between the two.

The August 6th Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Episode Grade: 8.50/10 (A-) — This was an awesome all-around episode of AEW Dynamite. What I have enjoyed from AEW 2025 is the fact that they have perfected their craft and delivered very enticing stories and have done a better job in progressions from week to week, and I’m soaked for next week’s show as Jon Moxley and Kevin Knight will be dueling it out awesome episode and AEW is on a run of a lifetime.
