My Thoughts on the July 30th Episode of AEW Dynamite:
My Thoughts: This was a very good episode of AEW Dynamite what I liked from the weekly shows is the conistency of the in-ring action I don’t remember a last time where a match on AEW was a distater. I do like the freshness of the new storylines being told as Swerve Strickland and Kazuchika Okada is something fresh as with the story of The Young Bucks being EVP’s no more. The women’s side is heating up as Athena pinned the AEW Women’s World Champion, Toni Storm, to give her more confidence in taking her down, and MJF continues to toy with Mark Briscoe. This was a very fun episode, and AEW continues their hot streak of great episodes and great in-ring matches.
The July 30th | Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) vs. The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) in an AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament Quarter-Final Match | Match Rating: ***.50 — This was a very fun opening match. I love the fact that they made The Young Bucks have a jobber entrance, playing into them losing the EVP's Titles and being relegated to being nothing but AEW Talent. The Outrunners IU had winning this match to get the major upset win to further the story for the Young Bucks as they continue to fall, but that didn't happen. There were a few times I thought that the match was over and The Outrunners had it won, but nope, that wasn't it. The Outruinners lost, and now The Young Bucks move on into the next round of the Tournament.
2nd Match: Adam Page (c) vs. Jon Moxley in an AEW World Title Everyone Banned From Ringside Match | Match Rating: ****.75 — Not like their ALL IN Match, but this was an amazing match by both men. Jon Moxley not doing his Josh Barnett Bloodsport style made me happy when he wrestles like himself; he is off the charts amazing. Adam Page looked phenomenal in this match as he was doing everything to stop Jon Moxley to retain and win. A referee bump occurred, and we saw the Death Riders come out, but they were caught but Jon Moxley blasted the AEW World Title on Adam Page, but a near fall two count kept the match going. Darby Allin from above crashed down on the Death Riders. Adam Page caught Jon Moxley and hit a Buckshot Lariat to get the win and retain his AEW World Title to continue his reign. This was fun, exciting, and had suspense; it had everything to make this match fun, and I'm glad Adam Page is still the AEW World Champion.
3rd Match: Athena & Billie Starkz vs. Alex Windsor & Toni Storm in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: **** — This was a fun tag team match. I'm so happy Alex Windsor is in a big match like this tag team teaming with the AEW Women's World Champion in Toni Storm. I liked how Athena and Billie Starkz were getting their own in this match. The story being told in the ring was evident about how Athena has the contract and gets the win to add to the momentum, and even pins the AEW Women's World Champion, Toni Storm. I enjoyed this, and I love the fact that Athena is on Dynamite weekly now. Keep this going.
The Main Event Match: Mark Briscoe vs. Ricochet in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ****.25 — This was a very fun Main Event. Ricochet, having the Gates of Agony by his side, is great, so he can build his heel stable. Mark Briscoe is having a very good match and wins. But afterward, MJF cut a promo on the titantron, but it was pre-recorded as he attacked Mark Briscoe. But the AEW World Champion saves Mark Briscoe and makes MJF back off. Next week, MJF will take on Mark Briscoe in the Main Event to end the feud and the story told between them.
The July 30th | Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Match of the Night: Adam Page (c) vs. Jon Moxley in an AEW World Title Everyone Banned From Ringside Match | Match Rating: ****.75
The July 30th | Episode of AEW Dynamite — The Episode Grade: 8.75/10 (A-) — This was a very good all-around episode of AEW Dynamite. What I enjoy are the matches that were on display; it was storytelling and great in-ring work. AEW Dyanmite has been on a great stretch of shows, and I don’t see them slowing down anytime soon.
Next Week AEW Dynamite | August 5th Episode — The Announced Matches & Segments:
