My Official Thoughts on the April 15th Episode of AEW Dynamite Spring Break Thru:
My Official Thoughts: A very fun episode, we had a major AEW World Title change as Darby Allin, a man who has been with the company for seven years, had his big time moment as he is the new AEW World Champion squashing MJF in the process, the rest of the show was highly entetraining as in total we had three title matches, and two fun matches. I think AEW is shifting into a new gear, but they have been fun to watch since the start of 2025.
The April 15th Episode of AEW Dynamite Spring Break Thru — My Official Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Tommaso Ciampa vs. Dezmond Xavier in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — Tommaso Ciampa joined Kevin Knight in pursuing the AEW World Title. This was a fine opening match as Dezmond Xavier is looking to take down Tommaso Ciampa, but it didn't go to plan, and this was solid. Tommaso Ciampa being in the World Title scene is something I haven't seen since he was in NXT from 2016-2022, when he was always in the Main Event Scene, so it's cool to see again. Maybe he and Darby Allin will have a match down the road.
The 2nd Match: Kevin Knight (c) vs. Claudio Castagnoli in an AEW TNT Title Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — Successful 1st Title Defense against Claudio Castagnoli. Kevin Knight had a very solid match against Claudio Castagnoli of the Death Riders. Kevin Knight, I expect, will have a very good run. It’s already starting great, and he's hungrier as he is targeting the AEW World Title and even said he maybe could be holding two belts. Loving how AEW is making Kevin Knight feel big-time.
The 3rd Match: Will Ospreay vs. Hechicero (with Lance Archer) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — A very fun match, a very technical match, the selling of Will Ospreay’s neck was a great touch, as in hindsight, this is so crazy, the man had his neck destroyed at AEW Dynasty, and is fighting still? That's simply insane, but this was a lot of fun. This was my show's Match og the Night because it displayed a lot, and Hechicero is always fun to watch. He's just one of the best technical wrestlers in the world today. Will Ospreay got the win and was attacked by his former friend Mark Davis, and next week, we'll see both of them fight on AEW Dynamite.
The 4th Match: Willow Nightingale (c) vs. Kamille in an AEW TBS Title Match | The Match Rating: *.75 — This match was underwhelming because of Kamille. Willow Nightingale did her thing, but Kamille is just not good at this wrestling thing. But Willow Nightingale got the win and retained her AEW TBS Title, but I hope this is the end of that quick feud with Kamille, and going on to better pastures.
The Main Event Match: MJF (c) vs. Darby Allin in an AEW World Title Match | The Match Rating: **** — This was great, a squash match as Darby Allin defeated MJF to win his 1st Ever AEW World Title, he became an AEW Triple Crown Champion, the 1st in AEW History. MJF losing didn't hurt him whatsoever, as he was banged up, he was hurting from the match on Sunday, and his performance in the match was great as he sold everything to perfection. But congrats to Darby Allin, let the man get rock n' rolling. Also, seeing Sting was awesome as well.
The April 15th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Match of the Night: Will Ospreay vs. Hechicero (with Lance Archer) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — This was a very enjoyable and technically impressive match. The moment when Will Ospreay’s neck was sold was a nice touch, especially considering how incredible it is that he had his neck injured at AEW Dynasty and is still competing. That’s truly unbelievable. Overall, this was my favorite match of the night because it showcased a lot and featured Hechicero, who is always entertaining to watch. He’s one of the top technical wrestlers in the world today. Ospreay won the match but was attacked afterward by his former friend Mark Davis. Next week, we’ll see them face off on AEW Dynamite.
The April 15th Episode of AEW Dynamite — My Official Episode Grade: 8/10 (B+) — This was very fun. We saw a major AEW World Title change, as Darby Allin, who has been with the company for seven years, finally had his big moment by becoming the new AEW World Champion in a squash match against MJF.
