The AEW Forbidden Door Event Preview & What You Need To Know:

  • Swerve Strickland got desperate in the early part of the year as his pursuit of the AEW World Title kept coming short, so something needed to change. He turned back to the dark side and reverted to the Killer he once was as he took down everyone who stepped in his way. During this Owen Hart Tournament, he had one goal: making it to ALL IN to fight for the AEW World Title. But there is one thing he would run into: someone he's very familiar with, and that man is Will Ospreay. See, about a year ago, these men were close and united as they wanted to end The Young Bucks, and did so at ALL IN Texas. But in the year 2026, oh, how both men are so much different now. Swervve Strickland is a man with an edge now, and Will Ospreay has unlikely allies at his hand with the Death Riders. Will Ospreay’s dream is to Main Event Wembley, and Swerve Strickland’s dream is to become a 2x AEW World Champion. In the Final Round of the Men's Owen Hart Tournament, who's going to come out on top? Who'll leave it all on the line to go onto ALL IN in Wembley to headline the biggest AEW Show and challenge for the richest prize in all of AEW, and it's the AEW World Championship? Swerve Strickland. Will Ospreay. There has to be a winner, who'll be the one heading to ALL IN? We find out tonight.

  • Mercedes Moné made her return against Alex Windsor in the First Round of the Wild Card Spot. Then proceeded to defeat Hazuki on the June 17th Episode of AEW Dynamite. Mercedes Moné won last year's Women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, so she's going for a back-to-back tournament win. But someone we didn't expect has entered replacing Sareee after she sustained an injury Maya World is one of AEW's best young talents who has been climbing the ranks in the First Round she defeated Skye Blue as she made it to the Semi-Final Round against Athena the ROH Women's World Champion in one of the most shocking defeats in AEW History Maya World defeated Athena to go onto AEW Forbidden Door where she'll be facing one of the greatest women's in-ring wrestler of this generation and of all-time in Mercedes Moné in the Final Round of the Women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. What can be one of the biggest tournament upsets of all time? Will Maya World shock the world and defeat Mercedes Moné? Or will Mercedes Moné become a 2x Women's Owen Hart Tournament Winner, then go on AEW ALL IN in Wembley to have another chance at getting the AEW Women's World Championship?

  • Kenny Omega is one of the greatest to ever lace a pair of wrestling boots. Kenny Omega 2026 has been very eventful, and it is just getting more eventful as one of the best Technical Wrestlers of this generation, Zack Sabre Jr., will be facing Kenny Omega at AEW Forbidden Door. We were made aware of the news of this match, and everyone was shocked but excited as two of the best wrestlers in the world would go to blows. On the June 17th Episode of AEW Dynamite, we saw that after Kenny Omega's Match against Tony Nese, TMDK came out to confront, and The Elite came out to be on Kenny Omega's side. This match is between two men who dominated NJPW and will come to blows in California. We're in for a treat as Kenny Omega and Zack Sabre Jr. will shake the stadium, and who'll come out on top tonight at AEW Forbidden Door?

  • Team Mark Briscoe consists of Darby Allin, Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle O'Reilly, Mark Briscoe & Orange Cassidy. As for Team MJF, it consists of Andrade El Idolo, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada, Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher & MJF. Mark Briscoe and MJF have a long history, as last year they feuded for a couple of months, trading wins. But this match will be inside a Steel Cage Structure, as this match can be drama-filled, as MJF is teaming with members who are eyeing his AEW World Title, and at the same everyone needs to be on the same page. This match can be chaotic with Mark Briscoe and Darby Allin being on the same team, and we could see possibly career-ending moves. So much can occur in this match. Which team will come out victorious, and can Team MJF be on the same page, or will someone stab MJF in the back?

  • Shota Umino, the IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion, will be defending his title against the Bastard PAC of the Death Riders. Shota Umino was once Jon Moxley’s protege, not anymore, as he looks to prove himself in this match, a match where Jon Moxley will be watching his stablemate PAC wrestling as he hopes he can come away with the IWGP Global Heavyweight Title. This match can be a sleeper match of the entire event, as Shota Umino is representing NJPW in this match, as is the case for PAC he is representing AEW, but also at the same time I don't think PAC cares, he just wants the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship but will he manage to come back with a title for the Death Rider's or will Shota Umino pull it off tonight at AEW Forbidden Door and stick it to his former mentor Jon Moxley.

  • Adam Copeland and Christian Cage did what we thought we wouldn't see again, and that's them being AEW World Tag Team Champions on the night they celebrated, about to hit the Five-Second Pose for the Millions Watching all over. The Dogs thought it would be nice to interrupt and attack the two legends, laying them out and sending a message all around the AEW Universe. The Dogs’ Clark Connors and David Finlay want to end this little nostalgia run before it even started as they aim to become AEW World Tag Team Champions tonight. But for Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, they weren't pleased by The Dogs as they gave them a receipt and a message before their match at AEW Forbidden Door. With the AEW World Tag Team Titles on the line, and this being the 1st Title Defense for Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, will they start this reign off strong, or will it finish with The Dogs coming out being the next AEW World Tag Team Champions?

  • Thekla has had an amazing AEW Women's World Title Reign as she beat so many of the favorites, but now she has someone who is coming at a full head of steam, whom she is familiar with. As I introduce you to Starlight Kid. Only 24 years old, she has made a lot of waves at STARDOM as she was the Wonder Of Stardom Champion, and had amazing matches with the likes of AZM, Giulia, Mayu Iwatani, and Rina. She is one of the best talents from STARDOM, and Thekla should not take this match too lightly, as Starlight Kid is very much a person who can take that AEW Women's World Championship from her. Thekla and Starlight Kid have fought back in STARDOM, but these two are very much different from the times they fought against each other, as we are in for a treat. As of tonight, with the AEW Women's World Title on the line, can we see Starlight Kid win the AEW Women's World Title to bring it back to STARDOM, or will Thekla continue her impressive reign as the AEW Women's World Champion? Find out tonight LIVE from San Jose, California.

  • Jon Moxley has been holding onto that AEW Continental Title for dear life as he has defeated everyone that step foot near him and his championship, but one man, one cowboy, has the chance to take that away from him. Bandido, who's the current ROH World Champion, will be fighting for the AEW Continental Title as of late. Brodido took on the Death Riders as they came out on top. Bandido is someone whom a lot of people are expecting to be a massive threat to Jon Moxley's AEW Continental Title. Jon Moxley has had moments of shock where he could've lost his title but with him facing Bandiudo he needs to be razor-sharp focus as tonight at AEW Forbidden the Cowboy Bandido will be taking on Jon Moxley the AEW Continental Title, in what could be a shocking change of hands of the AEW Continental Title tonight if Bandido manages to do what everyone been trying to do and that'trs defeat Jon Moxley for the AEW Continental Title, can we see that happen tonight? We'll find out at AEW Forbidden Door.

  • The Young Bucks take on the El Sky Team and Unbound Co. in what will be a fun Three-Way Tag Team Match. The Young Bucks have been doing a lot of side quests as they look to get back in the AEW World Tag Team Title Scene, but with El Sky Team and Unbound Co. being on the opposing sides in this match, it will be a hard task at hand tonight. Who’ll come out on top in this highly stacked three-way Tag Team Match?

My Official Match Predictions for AEW Forbidden Door:

As AEW Forbidden approaches, the card is shaping up to deliver a compelling mix of championship stakes and high-profile clashes. Here are my official predictions for the event:

Final Round of the Owen Hart Men's Tournament: Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) vs. Will Ospreay — Will Ospreay, I think, is going to win this Final Round of the Owen Hart Men's Tournament. It has been long overdue for Will Ospreay to get his hands on the AEW World Title. All of us expect him to finally do it and take down one of his best rivals in AEW, MJF. I think Swerve Strickland will be fine regardless; he is an established act who has been thriving since turning heel. But I have to go with Will Ospreay.

Final Round of the Owen Hart Women's Tournament: Maya World vs. Mercedes Moné — Maya World has been carrying a heavy heart my condolences to her and her family during this tough time, I'm picking Maya World to win I do believe she will be a massive underdog and knowing Mercedes Moné how she loves to help epople get over she can suffer the loss, I would love to see Maya World get her shot at ALL IN in Wemebly she an amazing young talent on the rise, and I do expect a good match biut I would love to see this massive upset happen.

Singles Match: Kenny Omega vs. Zack Sabre Jr. — Kenny Omega is my pick to win this. This is going to be an amazing match. Kenny Omega taking on Zack Sabre Jr. is going to probably be a Match of the Year contender with the ceiling this match has. But in the end, I do see Kenny Omega getting the win, and moving on to maybe Adam Page? I do sense he could be returning as a heel act, which would make for good TV.

12-Man Steel Cage Match: Team Mark Briscoe (Darby Allin, Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle O'Reilly, Mark Briscoe & Orange Cassidy) vs. Team MJF (Andrade El Idolo, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada, Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher & MJF) in a 12-Man Steel Cage Match — This match can go either way. I do expect drama and tension between the Don Callis Family Members and MJF. But I have the Mark Briscoe Team to get this win. The team is coming off a loss on Dynamite, and I expect the Mark Briscoe Team to get the win, and have Mark Briscoe get a future AEW World Title shot against MJF at possibly an AEW Dynamite or at AEW Redemption.

IWGP Global Heavyweight Title Match: Shota Umino (c) vs. PAC — This is going to be amazing match, but I have Shota Umino to retain his IWGP Global Heavyweight Title, and PAC the Bastard getting this match was such a smart choice this is going to be a sleeper match as I expect it to be better than what everyone thinks it's going to end up going to go. But Shota Umino, I think, will secure a major win over PAC of the Death Riders.

AEW World Tag Team Title Match: Adam Copeland & Christian Cage (c) vs. The Dogs (Clark Connors & David Finlay) — Obviously coming off a monumental win at AEW Double or Nothing, I don't expect Adam Copeland and Christian Cage to lose their AEW World Tag Team Titles. The Dogs getting this shot was a solid filler feud for Adam Copeland & Christian Cage. But I do expect Adam Copeland and Christian Cage to retain their titles against The Dogs.

AEW Women's World Title Match: Thekla (c) vs. Starlight Kid — Thekla is going to win against Starlight Kid. But I do think Thekla AEW Women's World Title reign has been great from an in-ring standpoint, but I do think her days as champion are numbered. But this match will be great as I expect it to be.

AEW Continental Title Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Bandido — I know this may seem shocking, but I have Bandido to get this win. Why? Because I think Bandido is getting the AEW Continental Title would reignite the title and division, because it wouldn't be the same formula every match like Jon Moxley has been doing. So I have Bandido getting the win. I think it's time for Jon Moxley to drop the AEW Continental Title.

Three-Way Tag Team Match: The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) vs. El Sky Team (Místico and Máscara Dorada) vs. Unbound Co. (Shingo Takagi and Titán) in a Three-Way Tag Team Match — I have The Young Bucks to get the win in this match, because we are expecting The Young Bucks to chase the AEW World Tag Team Titles soon again, so this win here would help them a lot in the long run, and I do think El Sky Team could have a chance same with Unbound Co. but we have to see tonight at AEW Forbidden Door.
