My Thoughts on the January 14th Episode of AEW Maximum Carnage:

My Thoughts: A very fun, all-around episode of AEW Dynamite. I liked the opener with Darby Allin and PAC; it was very hard-hitting and had some crazy bumps. Kenny Omega stepping into the ring with Adam Page and Swerve Strickland to remind them he’s coming after the AEW World Title made for a strong segment. Davis and Doyle made a huge impact and now have a future shot at the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Triangles of Madness took down the AEW Women’s World Champion, the AEW TBS Champion, and the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions in a big, statement-making win. The main event delivered in a big way, as MJF and Bandido had a great showdown. Next week’s AEW Dynamite card is stacked, and I can’t wait.

The January 14th Episode of AEW Maximum Carnage — The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Darby Allin vs. PAC in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **** — This was a hell of an opener as both men were trying to end each other. That stairs spot was such a hard watch; that was brutal. But Darby Allin got the win against The Death Riders’ own PAC. But this was such a fun opening match.

The 2nd Match: Adam Page vs. Bryan Keith (with Big Bill) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **.75 — This was a fine match. Anytime Adam Page wrestles, I'm always entertained. But Bryan Keith had Big Bill at ringside and tried to intervene, but thanks to Swerve Strickland saving the day, he did nothing. But the match was solid, and afterwards, Kenny Omega came out and told Adam Page and Swerve Strickland that he's coming for the AEW World Title, and he doesn't care who he has to go through, which was a solid ending segment.

The 3rd Match: Brody King vs. Jon Cruz in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This was a squash match, but I do expect a major year for Brody King. He needs to be introduced to the World Title scene. But this was cool to at least see Brody King destroying someone.

The 4th Match: Davis And Doyle (Jake Doyle & Mark Davis) vs. GOA (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) vs. JetSpeed (Kevin Knight & Mike Bailey) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) in an AEW World Tag Team Title Number One Contendership Four-Way Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — Davis and Doyle got the massive win as they have a future AEW World Tag Team Title against FTR, which is major, as Jake Somthing, who changed to Jake Doyle, now already has a title shot since joining Mark Davis as a tag team. JetSpeed, GOA, and The Young Bucks were solid in this match. The AEW Tag Division has been on a high right now, and I don't see it slowing down as I'm excited for Mark Davis and Jake Doyle against FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Maybe we can see a title change happen?

The 5th Match: Triangle Of Madness (Julia Hart, Skye Blue & Thekla) vs. Babes Of Wrath (Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale) & Kris Statlander in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: **.50 — Massive statement win for Triangle of Madness. I know Thekla is going after Kris Statlander and wants the AEW Women's World Title, but this loss also gives a future shot at the AEW Women's World Tag Team Titles, as they also were involved in this match. I do like the mega babyface unit of Kris Statlander, Harley Cameron, and Willow Nightingale. I wonder how the future Kris Statlander and Thekla match will go, but we'll see if it blows me away. Other than that, big win for the Triangle of Madness, and they are catching some steam.

The Main Event Match: MJF (c) vs. Bandido in an AEW World Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.75 — This was a hell of a fight. Bandido was my pick for wrestler of the year in 2025, and his getting a World Title shot was awesome. MJF’s first title defense was against the ROH World Champion, and this match didn't disappoint. I do think eventually Bandido will become AEW World Champion at some point just not now but I do like the ending where MJF was praising him then attacked but something to keep a eye on is Brody King maybe he might go after MJF that would be a hell of a match up and something fresh for the AEW World Title picture but overall hell of a match kudos to both guys and I would like them to run it back at some point again.

The January 14th Episode of AEW Maximum Carnage — The Match of the Night: MJF (c) vs. Bandido in an AEW World Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.75

The January 14th Edition of AEW Maximum Carnage — The Episode Grade: 8/10 (B+) — A very fun all-around episode of AEW Dynamite. I liked the opener with Darby Allin and PAC very hard-hitting and had some crazy bumps. Saw Kenny Omega in the ring with Adam Page and Swerve Strickland reminding them who's going after the AEW World Title which was a good segment. Davis and Doyle made a huge impact as they have a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Titles in the future. Triangles of Madness took down the AEW Women's World Champion, AEW TBS Champion, and the AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions in a big statement making win. The Main Event delievered big-time as MJF and Bandido had a great showdown. Next week AEW Dynamite Card is stacked and I can't wait for it.
