Thoughts on the January 22nd Edition of Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite Show:

Thoughts: I thought this was an average episode of Dynamite where we saw a title change, and story progression. Outside of the fun opening segment nothing else note worthy happened on the show.

The January 22nd, Edition of Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Private Party (Quen & Zay) (c) vs. The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) for the AEW World Tag Team Championships - Match Rating: ***.75 - This was the best match on the show easily. It sucks for Private Party for their reign to end the way it did one of the worst reigns in the company's history and it wasn't their fault. Now with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin as the new champions and now lead the tag division the shift of it feeling important again can happen now which I'm excited about really hoping they get a monster run with the belts have them hold it for many months.

2nd Match: Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) vs. AR Fox in a Singles Match - Match Rating: ***.50 - Good to see AR Fox out of ROH and on an episode of Dynamite. This was an okay match we saw some good offense and the crowd was kinda into it. Ricochet had Prince Nana backstage by scissor point threatening him. But other than that an okay match.

3rd Match: Adam Page vs. Tyler Shoop in a Singles Match - Match Rating: N/A - This was a squash match but this wasn’t the important part. The aftermath events was important because it planted the seeds of the Adam Page face turn. Christopher Daniels had indicated to Hangman Page that because of the Texas Death Match now he has to retire which caused Adam Page to be in disbelief and had some empathy. Great character work and can’t wait for the eventual face turn for Hangman Page.

4th Match: Jamie Hayter vs. Julia Hart in a Singles Match - Match Rating: *** - Jamie Hayter got her win back against Julia Hart which I was happy about. Jamie Hayter needs to be an important angle because she hasn't been in any important stories since returning so soon they need to do something with her because she's a former Women's Champion that needs to be featured heavily.

The Main Event Match: Adam Copeland vs. PAC in a Singles Match - Match Rating: **.50 - Really don't wanna see Edge close out a show in 2025 and be in a 20 minute long match. It was slow and not eventful PAC having a bad match is rare but it wasn't his fault he did everything he can. The chemistry wasn't there between these two men and lastly please end this Death Rider story.

The January 22nd, Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite Match of the Night: Private Party (Quen & Zay) (c) vs. The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) for the AEW World Tag Team Championships - Match Rating: ***.75

The January 22nd, Edition of Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite Show Grade: 5.75/10 (C) - It was an average episode. Outside the hot opening segment, and title change nothing else happened.
