My Thoughts on the April 23rd Edition of Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite Episode:

My Thoughts: This was such an amazing episode, in-ring-wise. I generally love how Dynamite has been this year, and the matches on display every week are a joy. But this show started with Mark Briscoe going toe-to-toe with Ricochet in a very fun opener. Ricochet as a heel has been great. This revival of his career has been great, as he has been booked very strongly and is a threat to others in AEW. The Young Bucks easily had there best match in years and I'm not counting the Revolution Match from 2024 but this was great we saw Ricochet come out and try to get at Kevin Knight which kinda worked as The Young Bucks captilaized on it and you see Ricochety in the back laughing after what he did which was a good touch to how much of a piece of shit heel he is. The Hurt Syndicate and MJF stuff was okay. MJF is kissing Bobby Lashley ass to get his approval which didn't work as even giving him a Corvette he still gave a thumbs down. But after MJF ran into Hangman Page, and man, this right here got me excited seeing MJF in his element, and Hangman Page looking to rip his head off was a great bit here as it added more layers to the lack of respect they have for each other. The Don Callis Family got the upper hand as they defeated Brody King and Will Ospreay. Jamie Hayter in the Main Event had a good one with Kris Statlander, as it was very intense and fun. But Jamie Hayter came out on top, moments after the opponent she'll be facing next round of the Owen Hart Tournament, Mercedes Moné appeared in a good closing moment of the show. This is what AEW is: a great promotion that delivers amazing matches. This was a great episode of Dynamite.

The April 23rd | Edition of Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite | Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Mark Briscoe vs. Ricochet in a Singles Match | Match Rating: **** | A very good opener to set the tone of the entire show. Ricochet losing caught me by surprise, but I enjoy Mark Briscoe, so I didn't care. I was glad he won because he has been losing a lot lately, and this win was needed. Ricochet was protected in this loss, which is good as it didn't take a hit on his stock.

2nd Match: The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) vs. Kevin Knight & Mike Bailey in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: ****.50 | The best Young Bucks match in years. I thought this was great, you saw they were in their element in this match. Kevin Knight has been awesome since arriving at All Elite. He looked great, as well as Mike Bailey. Ricochet caused some issues, which allowed the Bucks to secure the win.

3rd Match: The Don Callis Family (Josh Alexander & Konosuke Takeshita) (with Lance Archer) vs. Brody King & Will Ospreay in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: **** | A very solid all-around tag team match. Brody King being the pin-eater in this match sucks as I wish he can be more of the monster he is. But they made Josh Alexander look great, and Konosuke Takeshita had a fun showing. But I want Will Ospreay soon to officially fade away from this Don Callis drama.

The Main Event Match: Jamie Hayter vs. Kris Statlander in the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Semi-Final Match | Match Rating: **** | What a sick match! This was a great main event. These two are two of the best in that company, and they left it all out in this match. I'm glad Jamie Hayter won this as she has been in a weird direction since her return last year, so having to face Mercedes Moné in the next round is great because that is a potenial MOTY candidate if it goes well. But great match and glad Jamie Hayter got the much-needed victory.

The April 23rd | Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite | Match of the Night: The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) vs. Kevin Knight & Mike Bailey in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: ****.50
