The Opening Match: Swerve Strickland & Willow Nightingale (with Prince Nana) defeated Death Riders (Jon Moxley & Marina Shafir) in a Mixed Tornado Tag Team Match | Pin-Fall | (13:31)

2nd Match: Toni Storm (with Luther) defeated Penelope Ford in a Singles Match | Pin-Fall | (08:13)

3rd Match: The Learning Tree (Big Bill & Bryan Keith) defeated CJ Esparza & Gaige Noonan in a Tag Team Match | Pin-Fall | (01:23)

4th Match: Kevin Knight & Will Ospreay defeated Blake Christian & Lee Johnson in a Tag Team Match | Pin-Fall | (09:17)

Thoughts on the April 2nd | Edition of Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite on TBS:

Thoughts: An okay go-home show before Dynasty. I felt like this episode peaked after the opening match. The rest of the matches were okay on the show. The main highlight for me had to be the brief Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page segment where Swerve Strickland acknowledged his house should've been burnt down by Hangman Page.

The Opening Match: Swerve Strickland & Willow Nightingale (with Prince Nana) vs. Death Riders (Jon Moxley & Marina Shafir) in a Mixed Tornado Tag Team Match | Match Rating: **** | A very solid opener. I thought this was a well-done mixed-tag team match. The bumps everyone took in this match were very wicked. Overall, it's great stuff. Jon Moxley did something by hurting Willow Nightingale. Swerve Strickland has made it his goal to take what Jon Moxley has, and at AEW Dynasty, we'll see if he does it.

2nd Match: Toni Storm (with Luther) vs. Penelope Ford in a Singles Match | Match Rating: **.75 | A very average match. I get why they did this because Penelope Ford has some alliance with Toni Storm's challenger at AEW Dynasty in Megan Bayne. But Toni Storm got the win, and Megan Bayne came out to be face-to-face from a distance.

3rd Match: The Learning Tree (Big Bill & Bryan Keith) vs. CJ Esparza & Gaige Noonan in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: N/A | A squash match for The Learning Tree as they did quick work of the local talent. They have their sights on the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

4th Match: Kevin Knight & Will Ospreay vs. Blake Christian & Lee Johnson in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: ***.50 | A fun tag team match. Very fast pace. Kevin Knight has been booked well since arriving at AEW, and this Sunday, he's facing Will Ospreay in the Owen Hart Tournament. Blake Christian & Lee Johnson have been on AEW TV a lot as of late and can be a solid addition to the tag scene as they are always in ROH.

5th Match: Brody King vs. Lance Archer in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ***.25 | Two heavyweights dishing it out in the ring. I'm very glad Brody King got the win he needed a win as he's a solo act now since the departure of Malakai Black. But this was a solid filler match for this show.

The Main Event Match: Cope vs. Claudio Castagnoli in a Singles Match | Match Rating: **.25 | Claudio looks so defeated. I don't remember when the last time he had a great match. It's the same thing since returning from his leg injury; he has been horrid in the ring. I think this main event was very below average. I don't think this was the right place to slot this match should've been in the middle of the show. But Adam Copeland got the win and helped gain momentum before the Trios Match at Dyansty against The Death Riders.

The April 2nd | Edition of Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite on TBS | Episode Grade: 6/10 (C) | An okay go-home show before Dynasty. I felt like this episode peaked after the opening match.
