My Thoughts on the May 21st Episode of Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite:
My Thoughts: Surprised by the three matches on the card as it wasn't much star-power outside of one, but overall the episode did its job as the go-home show for the AEW Double or Nothing Event. I like the segments as I thought they were well-done and furthered the point, and I think the matches for the event were sold to the fans well. Very excited for Double or Nothing and see who'll win and go on to ALL IN for the titles.
The May 21st | Episode of Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite | The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Swerve Strickland & The Opps (Powerhouse Hobbs & Samoa Joe) (with Prince Nana) vs. Jon Moxley & The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) (with Marina Shafir) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match | Match Rating: ***.75 | A very fun Six-Man Tag Team Match. The team of Swerve Strickland and The Opps was a fun one, doing everything they could to stop the Young Buck matches lately have been very good; they add more of an element, as every man in the match wants to rip each other's heads off. The Young Bucks have looked so sharp in this feud, and in general, it feels like some sort of reset has happened, and they've been killing it ever since Jon Moxley. The multi-man since. But Swerve Strickland and The Opps got the win and more of the upper hand, leading to their Anchary in an Arena Match against The Death Riders and The Young Bucks.
2nd Match: Ricochet vs. Anthony Bowens (with Billy Gunn) in a Singles Match | Match Rating: *** | This was a passable TV Match. Anthony Bowens suffered his first singles loss of this year at the hands of Ricochet, who has been riding a hot hand and gets. A good win, taking down an undefeated man to give him some confidence going into his stretcher match at the AEW Double or Nothing Event. Anthony Bowens, I'm enjoying his singles run. He will add a lot of depth to the mid-card. Maybe down the line, he could challenge for the TNT Title, which I think personally would be perfect for him.
The Main Event Match: Mina Shirakawa vs. Julia Hart in a Singles Match | Match Rating: **.75 | This match was decent, but it had many sloppy moments. Julia Hart still has areas to improve in her wrestling skills; however, Mina Shirakawa showcased her talents well and has been effectively utilized since joining All Elite Wrestling. Now, she can direct her attention towards Toni Storm, as they are set to compete for the AEW Women's World Championship at the AEW Double or Nothing event.

The May 21st | Edition of Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite | The Episode Grade: 7.25/10 (B) | This was a solid go-home episode of Dynamite. This episode didn’t focus on the matches, but more on the final pieces of the build towards AEW Double or Nothing. But the segments on the show were very solid and well put together, and I’m excited for the Double or Nothing Event this Sunday.
