Thoughts on the April 16th Edition of Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite: Spring Break Thru Episode:

Thoughts: This was an amazing episode. The brief thoughts I have are that this was what professional wrestling is supposed to be: filled with fun matches, solid segments, and chaos weekly. Amazing episode. And just an unforgettable episode of AEW Dynamite.

The April 16th | Edition of Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite: Spring Break Thru | Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Mercedes Moné vs. Athena in the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Semi-Final Match | Match Rating: ****.75 | What an amazing match. Finally, we got the 1st Match between these two, and it didn't disappoint whatsoever. I really enjoyed this match. Mercedes Moné is the best female wrestler in the world today, and Athena is not far behind. This was amazing. I loved how this was the opener for the show; it really set the tone for the whole show tonight. Mercedes Moné advances in the Owen Hart Tournament, but this isn't the last time these two will fight in the ring. I need another match soon because this was exceptional wrestling, my goodness.

2nd Match: Adam Page vs. Josh Alexander in an Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Quarter-Final Match | Match Rating: ****.25 | The debut of Ex-TNA Superstar Josh Alexander. I remember in February, they said he signed with the company, and he was the wild card that went up against Hangman Page. This was a very solid match. I was very happy they protected Josh Alexander in his debut match. After the match, he turned heel and attacked Hangman Page to align himself with the Don Callis Family, which is a very smart move because this will help him be established on TV.

3rd Match: The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin (c) vs. Gates Of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) in a Tag Team Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championships | Match Rating: ***.50 | A very solid tag team match. Realistically, I don't see a single team yet that'll take these titles off of The Hurt Syndicate. But this was a very solid match. MJF being kinda aligned with them has been funny, but I do expect that bad stabbing moment in a few weeks, which will escalate the feud further.

4th Match: Will Ospreay vs. Konosuke Takeshita in the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Semi-Final Match | Match Rating: ***** | This was amazing. I was on the edge of my seat when watching this match. They have amazing chemistry, so many close calls and near falls. Will Ospreay got the win as he advances to the next round, but watching this match, it goes to show the beauty of wrestling because this was so much fun. Konosuke Takeshita can't wait for what's next for him and for Will Ospreay; he's almost close to getting it. A shot at ALL IN: Texas for the AEW World Championship. Amazing stuff by both men, this is professional wrestling, man.

The Main Event Match: Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta) (with Marina Shafir) (c) vs. The Opps (Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs & Samoa Joe in a Trios Match for the AEW World Trios Championship | Match Rating: ****.25 | Finally, the reign of terror is over as The Opps are now the new AEW World Trios Champions. This was a good match, and we saw who will face Jon Moxley next for the AEW World Championship in Samoa Joe. But man, what a way to end this show. Congratulations to AEW for being the longest-running wrestling show in the history of Turner Sports Television.
