My Thoughts on the WWE Premium Live Event — WWE Clash in Paris:

My Thoughts: This was one of my favorite WWE events of the year. I really enjoyed five out of the six matches, and I’m grateful that there are six matches for each Premium Live Event (PLE) now. With four matches lasting over twenty minutes, the pacing felt just right, giving us a total of two hours of wrestling. I appreciated the crowd and the matches at this event. Despite some negative feedback on social media regarding the match card, I think this event exceeded expectations and stands out as one of WWE’s best PLEs of 2025. As this was the last PLE for the Main Roster on Peacock, we are now entering a new era with PLEs moving to ESPN for the foreseeable future.

WWE Premium Live Event | WWE Clash in Paris — The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed (with Paul Heyman) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — This was a fitting opener to Clash in Paris, featuring Bronson Reed accompanied by Paul Heyman, who donned the Ula Shoe Fala—symbolizing the shoes he took from Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns made his entrance to a huge live reaction, wearing two Ula Fala's in honor of his father and uncle, who recently passed away. The match began slowly, typical of Roman Reigns' singles matches, but there were solid exchanges and back-and-forth action. It was clear that Roman was fully engaged and putting his heart into the match. Despite losing, Bronson Reed had a breakout moment, going toe-to-toe with Roman and not fading like many before him. There were near falls and exciting moments, including Bronson catching Roman in a spectacular powerbomb. Roman executed the rare drive-by move, adding to the match's excitement. Ultimately, Roman secured the win with a spear. Just as it seemed the match was over, Bron Breakker delivered a devastating spear to Roman, sending him crashing through a table. As Roman was attended to, Bron executed his iconic ramp spear, intensifying the situation. Despite attempts to intervene, Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker continued their assault on Roman for about 10-15 minutes. Jey Uso arrived too late and was met with a spear from Bron Breakker. This sequence effectively elevated both Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, while Roman Reigns was stretchered out, marking his official write-off. He is set to film Street Fighter and won't return until WWE heads to San Diego for Survivor Series: WarGames.

The 2nd Match: The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy) (with Erick Rowan, Nikki Cross & Uncle Howdy) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) (with B-Fab) in a WWE Tag Team Title Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — The Street Profits are getting their second consecutive PLE match, as are The Wyatt Sicks, which shows some love for the SmackDown Tag Division. This match was a solid tag team encounter, and I found it better than their first matchup back in July. Early in the match, there was noticeable tension between Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford, hinting at the seeds of the Street Profits' eventual demise. The back-and-forth action was entertaining, but the highlight came in the final moments when chaos broke out outside the ring. Montez Ford executed an impressive dive, leaping over the top rope and ringpost. Ultimately, Uncle Howdy assisted The Wyatt Sicks by delivering Sister Abigail, leading to their victory. This match was very well done, and I'm eager to see what happens this Friday with the Street Profits. It seems The Wyatt Sicks will hold the championships for a while, but when they eventually lose, it will likely be to either Fraxiom or the Motor City Machine Guns.

The 3rd Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Nikki Bella in a WWE Women's Intercontinental Title Match | The Match Rating: ** — Easily the worst match on the card, this encounter should have featured Becky Lynch against Bayley, which would have undoubtedly been a barn burner. Despite Becky Lynch's efforts to make the match passable, it fell flat. Nikki Bella had several sloppy moments, including a memorable botch where she attempted a springboard maneuver while Becky was turned away, unprepared for the spot. While Nikki Bella is a Hall of Famer, I believe that a younger or more established talent like Bayley would have been a better fit for this match. I hope this was merely a filler feud and not a long-term storyline; ideally, this should be a one-and-done match. Toward the end, Becky tried to salvage the situation with her signature moves, but it was to no avail. The crowd, usually engaged, seemed disinterested, reflecting how bland and nonsensical this match was. I had hoped this could be Nikki Bella's best singles match, but it turned out to be a flop, proving that a different opponent for Becky Lynch would have made for a more compelling contest. On a positive note, the elevation of the WWE Women's Intercontinental Title has been a great sight and is one of Triple H's best-booked titles since he took charge creatively.

The 4th Match: Rusev vs. Sheamus in a Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook Match | The Match Rating: ****.75 — Banger After Banger! This was the Match of the Night at Clash in Paris. The match was chaotic and physical, filled with car-crash moments. Rusev emerged looking ready to fight, while Sheamus had the enthusiastic support of the Paris crowd. The match kicked off with a brawl, as both wrestlers exchanged punches and blows to weaken each other. Rusev delivered the Beats of the Bodhrán, showing that at age 47, Sheamus still moves like he's in his thirties. His style incorporates elements from NOAH-Pro, AJPW, and NJPW, with hard strikes and powerful punches aimed at Rusev. Rusev went all out, executing a flying spinning kick and delivering Kendo strikes to weaken Sheamus further. The ending sequences were spectacular, culminating in a table crash and Rusev locking in The Accolade for the win. This outcome was fitting, marking Rusev's triumphant return and highlighting the importance of a solid undercard. This six-match PLE was exceptional, showcasing quality undercard matches. Rusev’s victory opens the door for him to pursue the WWE Intercontinental Title, and I hope to see Sheamus do the same. I genuinely don't want this feud to end, as it has been one of my favorite TV feuds of 2025 in wrestling.

The 5th Match: John Cena vs. Logan Paul in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **** — Since John Cena returned as the red-hot babyface, his matches with Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul have been incredibly entertaining. Logan Paul showcased his skills by pulling off the Zig-Zag and other finishers, while Cena paid tribute to his training roots by executing Baron Corbin's End of Days, Christopher Daniels' Angel's Wings, and AJ Styles' Styles Clash. Despite my personal feelings about Logan Paul, I can't deny his talent in the ring; he impressed everyone with his agility, even getting the crowd to react to his Five-Knuckle Shuffle. Cena delivered numerous Attitude Adjustments, although it seemed a bit surprising that Logan managed to kick out of so many. Ultimately, Cena secured the victory with two final Attitude Adjustments, marking his 99th PLE win—just one away from achieving 100 PLE wins in WWE, a milestone that would place him among a legendary class of wrestlers. While he may be the greatest, I can't help but feel nostalgic for Super Cena. I'm glad he won, but with only eight more dates left, I’m going to miss one of the most influential wrestlers of all time.

The Main Event Match: Seth Rollins (with Paul Heyman) (c) vs. CM Punk vs. LA Knight vs. Jey Uso in a WWE World Heavyweight Title Fatal-Four Way Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — Seth Rollins faced daunting odds in this match, as he was up against Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman, who was at the hospital attending to Roman Reigns’ injuries. Breakker and Reed were ejected for their brutal attack on Reigns, who was stretchered out, leaving Rollins to fend for himself. The match itself was quite enjoyable. CM Punk looked solid, and I loved how Jey Uso and LA Knight teamed up to take down Seth, taking turns to wear him down. The MVP of the match was undoubtedly LA Knight; he was everywhere and delivered an impressive performance. That table spot was brutal, showing he’s willing to put his body on the line for high-action moments that fans crave. The ending was wild as Becky Lynch helped her husband, Seth Rollins, retain his WWE World Heavyweight Title. She delivered a low blow to CM Punk while he was set up for the GTS, allowing Seth to hit the Curb Stomp and secure the victory. This left some fans shocked, as it opens up the possibility of an AJ Lee return. However, I’m growing tired of the CM Punk and Seth Rollins feud; it really needs to wrap up by Bad Blood. Overall, it was a fun main event with every competitor playing their part well. Now, Becky Lynch joins the Vision stable as the fourth member, bringing the WWE Women's Intercontinental Title to the group and becoming the second-ever Paul Heyman Girl.

WWE Premium Live Event | WWE Clash in Paris —  The Match of the Night: Rusev vs. Sheamus in a Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook Match | The Match Rating: ****.75

WWE Premium Live Event | WWE Clash in Paris— The Event Grade: 8.75/10 (A-) — This was one of the best WWE Events this year for me. In terms of the in-ring quality, I liked five out of the six matches. Thank goodness six matches are for each PLE nowadays because you can see they had four matches over twenty minutes, so it’s possible the pacing was well and we got two total hours worth of wrestling. What I liked about this event was the crowd and the matches. This event, in my eyes, did overachieve as a lot of people on social media weren’t fond of the Match Card. But this was easily one of WWE’s better PLEs of 2025. Now that this was the final PLE for the Main Roster on Peacock, a new era starts as PLE will be on ESPN for the foreseeable future.
