Thoughts on the April 11th Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Episode:
Thoughts: This was a very solid episode of SmackDown. The show kicked off with Randy Orton, but we kinda see who he might face at WrestleMania in Solo Sikoa. The Women's Gauntlet match was very fun as Bayley & Lyra Valkyria lasted everyone and managed to secure a title match at WrestleMania against The Judgement Day's own Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez. Rey Fenix's 2nd Match in WWE took place as he faced Berto in the best match of the night, and afterward, Santos Escobar shook his hand. Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre had an awesome brawl the build for their match was one of the best builds for WrestleMania these two men have so much history, and they added the Sin City Street Fight stipulation to make this match even better stuff here. Zelina Vega won in a minute against the WWE Women's United States Champion, Chelsea Green, as she was counted out now Zelina Vega has a victory over the champion, and a pending title match is in the books. Tiffany Stratton and Roxanne Perez had a very solid match after the match, Charlotte Flair attacked Tiffany Stratton and was dragged away by security and other personnel. The Main Event Match was okay, as LA Knight & Randy Orton defeated Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga. After the match, Jacob Fatu took out his opponent at WrestleMania in LA Knight. Overall a very solid episode. SmackDown has been getting better as of late but they need to use more people and not cycle the same people every week.

The Opening Match: Bayley & Lyra Valkyria vs. Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark vs. Katana Chance & Kayden Carter vs. B-Fab & Michin vs. Maxxine Dupri & Natalya vs. The Secret Hervice (Alba Frye & Piper Niven) in a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Number One Contenders Gauntlet Match | Match Rating: ***.50 | This was a very fun Gauntlet Match. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria lasted the whole match eliminating everybody to secure their spot at WrestleMania to face the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on The Judgement Day. I thought the chemistry the two had was good as a tag team as this was their first time being a tag team together. But I’m excited for the match at WrestleMania as Bayley & Lyra Valkyria are both elite competitors & Liv Morgan has been one of the most consistent people on the WWE roster in the year 2025.
2nd Match: Rey Fenix vs. Berto (with Santos Escobar) in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ****.25 | This was the match of the night for me. Rey Fenix has looked fantastic since arriving at WWE they have placed him as a high-end player on SmackDown. Berto, on the other hand, is so underrated I hope WWE is finally going to allow Berto and Angel to be set free and thrive in the single realm of WWE as they have very good potential to thrive and are very underrated in the ring. This match was such a fast-paced and fun match that the crowd even enjoyed it. After the match, Santos Escobar tried to shake the hand of Rey Fenix which left him puzzled. But this was a hoot of a match and I’m enjoying the story being told for Angel & Berto with their mistreatment by Santos Escobar.
3rd Match: Zelina Vega vs. Chelsea Green in a Singles Match | Match Rating: N/A | This match was a quick one as this didn’t even go past a minute. Zelina Vega won after securing the victory by a Count Out. As of late Zelina Vega has been eyeing the WWE Women’s United States Championship and has been making Chelsea Green’s life a living hell now that she got a win over her in the next coming weeks she is expected for a title match opportunity against Chelsea Green.
4th Match: Tiffany Stratton vs. Roxanne Perez in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ***.25 | A very solid match between these two. I like the fact Roxanne Perez got another Main Roster Singles Match opportunity she has been in NXT for way too long and the long-awaited Main Roster call-up is long overdue so I’m very happy she had this match against the Main Women’s Champion of SmackDown. I like how Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair build as of late been getting more heated before SmackDown Charlotte Flair jumped Tiffany Stratton then after her match against against Roxanne Perez, Charlotte Flair jumped her again. Very good stuff overall the build in the beginning was weak but as of late it has started to pick up.
The Main Event Match: LA Knight & Randy Orton vs. Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: **.75 | This match was mediocre. It was cool to see Randy Orton & LA Knight Tag Team Match but against the “New” Bloodline isn’t my cup of tea. I don’t like the fact they teased Randy Orton’s opponent to be Solo Sikoa as not a lot of people have any interest in that. But after the match Jacob Fatu demolished LA Knight as he lifted the United States Title to close the show.
The April 11th | WWE Friday Night SmackDown | Match of the Night: Rey Fenix vs. Berto (with Santos Escobar) in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ****.25
The April 11th | Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown | Episode Grade: 7/10 (B-) | This was a very solid episode of SmackDown. Berto vs. Rey Fenix was excellent for Rey Fenix as he’s slowly climbing the ranks. The segments on the show weren’t bad as well. SmackDown, as of late, has been getting slowly back to where it needs to be, so I’m happy to see the show is starting to become somewhat solid again.
