Thoughts on the August 2nd Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown:
Thoughts: Another week and another solid episode of SmackDown, the opener we saw who Cody Rhodes will defend his championship against at Bash at Berlin and he chose his buddy Kevin Owens. The Tag Division felt super important tonight which I was very happy about because there’s a lot of talent in that division the women didn’t get much spotlight which I wasn’t happy about. They need to give the ladies on SmackDown more time because that SmackDown Women’s Roster is super talented. I wanna see important stories like they doing on RAW with many women, I feel like Bloodline story is making others not get opportunities which has been the case past years. Andrade continues to put on bangers of matches as he gave Santos Escobar his best match in ages and of this year this match was awesome had the crazy spots, Apollo Crews & Baron Corbin came to help Andrade out taking away Angel Garza & Humberto, then we saw Carmelo Hayes cost Andrade a chance to face LA Knight for the WWE United States Championship. But now Santos Escobar has an opportunity to put some gold around his waist as he’s next in line for a chance to win the United States Championship from the newly won champ LA Knight. The Main Event match we say DIY regain an opportunity to get their tag titles back soon as they won the #1 Contenders Match against Pretty Deadly. The OG Chief Return and took out Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa of The Bloodline. Roman Reigns is back and I’m so happy he is the babyface that they wanted him to be from the 2014 - 2020 babyface run. Happy that Roman Reigns finally get the love he deserves. Welcome back Trubal Chief. Overall fun episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

The Opening Match: The Street Profits vs. A - Town Down Under - Match Rating: **.75 - It’s always cool to see The Street Profits win, they need to redirect and get back to chasing the title. Grayson Waller & Austin Theory eventually will spilt the slow burn is still ongoing.
2nd Match: Jade Cargill (with Bianca Belair) vs. Alba Fyre (Isla Dawn) - Match Rating: N/A - Squash Match, but after the match Naomi made the save to align again with Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill.
3rd Match: Santos Escobar (with Legado Del Fantasma) vs. Andrade in a WWE United States Championship #1 Contenders Match - Match Rating: ****.25 - Amazing match, once again Andrade delivers he has been on a hot streak with bangers of matches. So many fun spots and outside activity. Santos Escobar gets the win with help from Carmelo Hayes and we see that Andrade and Carmelo Hayes feud is still ongoing which I’m very happy about so that means more bangers of matches. But now LA Knight gotta focus on Santos Escobar as his first challenger is here.
The Main Event: #DIY vs. Pretty Deadly in a WWE Tag Team Championships #1 Contenders Match - Match Rating: *** - DIY get the win and have a chance to regain the titles they lost to The Bloodline, and also good to see Pretty Deadly being used the tag teams were used a lot tonight and I’m happy hopefully it’s leading to a great direction.
The Shows Match of the Night: Santos Escobar (with Legado Del Fantasma) vs. Andrade in a WWE United States Championship #1 Contenders Match - Match Rating: ****.25
August 9th Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Show Rating: 7.25/10 (B-) - Very solid episode of SmackDown, Andrade once again showing people why he’s one of the best wrestlers in the world giving Santos Escobar his best match in years. Roman Reigns eletric return to SmackDown was amazing he cleaned house and demolished Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa. Overall fun show.
