Thoughts on the February 21st Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Episode:
Thoughts: This was easily one of the most disappointing Smackdowns in recent memory. The creative team on Friday nights is extremely disappointing and can’t utilize anyone to their fullest potential. When you have Andrade doing nothing, and Carmelo Hayes paired with The Miz in a Tag Team, that’s a major problem. And where was Chelsea Green? Meanwhile, you see RAW and NXT, which are solid weekly shows with great storylines and good matches. SmackDown lacks a cohesive storyline, and the matches are terrible every week. Road Dogg’s return to the writing team has brought this show down to the level of SmackDown in 2018-2019, a time when I stopped watching WWE due to how dreadful and unappealing those episodes were. I believe they need to hit the reset button immediately. I know the Draft is coming in April, and that reset is going to make the show fresh again. But please stop giving airtime to The Miz and R-Truth, and start utilizing someone like Andrade, who can perform in the ring. But that’s just how I feel about SmackDown; it’s simply an awful show.
The February 21st | Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown | Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Jimmy Uso vs. Drew McIntyre in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ** | This match made no sense why have Drew McIntyre lose before his Elimination Chamber Match next week? Then have him brutalize Jimmy Uso afterward? This match wasn't good and it was a rough one as this didn't help either man even if the creative staff think they did why are you having Drew McIntyre lose to Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso this year?
2nd Match: Carmelo Hayes & The Miz vs. LA Knight & R-Truth in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: *.50 | This match just made no sense. Why in 2025 are we having R-Truth and The Miz over the likes of Andrade, Kevin Owens, Angel, Berto, Michin, Piper Niven, and many more? It's ridiculous this match happened with so many botches by The Miz and Shinsuke Nakamura who has been a terrible WWE United States Champion.
3rd Match: Tiffany Stratton vs. Candice LeRae (with Nia Jax) in a Singles Match | Match Rating: *.75 | Another poor match on the show. That has been the case this whole episode every match was horrid and had no suspense I thought this match would be solid because both women are great in-ring talents, especially Candice LeRae but nope this match wasn't all that either.
4th Match: D.I.Y. (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) (c) vs. Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) in a Tag Team Match for the WWE Tag Team Champion | Match Rating: DUD | Worst Match of the Night. This was the match I was excited for but this match didn't even get to any gears before the whole tag division came and attacked each other. Another horrible back-to-back match was that DIY and Pretty Deadly had stinkers.
The Main Event Match: Braun Strowman & Damian Priest vs. Jacob Fati & Solo Sikoa (with Tama Tonga) in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: ***.25 | At least this match was pleasant to watch. A very solid tag team match. I thought Damian Priest being the crowd favorite is nice because he has been shining since being on SmackDown. Jacob Fatu by accident super-kicked Solo Sikoa which led Damian Priest and Braun Strowman to get the win. Jacob Fatu didn't feel any remorse about what he did so the fractures are building up. But very solid main event, and the only positive from this abysmal episode of SmackDown.

The February 21st | Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown | Show Grade: 1.25/10 (D-) | This was a highly disappointing episode of Friday Night SmackDown. I was excited about this episode but the only bright spot of the show was Cody Rhodes and The Rock other than that nothing else was delivered. There needs to be a change in the creative department of SmackDown.
