Thoughts on the February 7th Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown:

Thoughts: This was a way better episode than last week. But now I'm starting to see why two hours was always perfect for SmackDown. The show feels like it drags mid-way which isn't good. The matches on the show tonight weren't eye-popping there were some decent ones but what I'm trying to say is that SmackDown could be a lot better. The lack of fresh challengers for Cody Rhodes is ridiculous when you can easily have Andrade, Carmelo Hayes, LA Knight, Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre, and Jacob Fatu challenge him for the belt but they keep on recycling the same challengers. A lot of people are frustrated that Solo Sikoa is challenging Cody Rhodes again because we want something new for Cody Rhodes, not something that has been done and wasn't as well perceived. But the match of the night for me was the triple threat match I enjoyed that match a lot, and Carmelo Hayes vs. Akira Tozawa was a fun match as well as Carmelo Hayes finally racking up a win since last year. But this show could've been a lot better and Triple H needs to do a better job because he has been booking RAW perfectly but SmackDown I don't know why he can't book it right when it's an easy lay-up when the Main Event scene now is loaded with numerous great talent. But I guess they want a filler feud before Cody Rhodes takes on John Cena at WrestleMania 41 for the World Title.

The February 7th | Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown | Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Bianca Belair vs. Piper Niven in a Singles Match in a Women's Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match | Match Rating: *** | an excellent opener. I thought for a second they would've done a swerve and have Piper Niven punch her ticket into the Women's Elimination Chamber match but it didn't happen because Bianca Belair instead punched her ticket into the match to inch a little closer to challenge for a Women's World Title if she proceeds to win that match.

2nd Match: Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) vs. D.I.Y. (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) in a Non-Title Tag Team Match | Match Rating: N/A | A very shocking upset. Now Pretty Deadly has an opportunity in the future to face D.I.Y. for the WWE Tag Team Championships.

3rd Match: Drew McIntyre vs. LA Knight vs. Jimmy Uso in a Triple Threat Match in a Men's Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match | Match Rating: ***.75 | This was a highly fun triple threat match. I like that Jimmy Uso is on his own, carving out his name, as he had a great performance in this match. Before the match, there was a promo battle between all three men, throwing jabs at each other. The match itself featured a lot of cool spots and exciting back-and-forth action. Ultimately, Drew McIntyre won, securing his spot as the third entry in the Men's Elimination Chamber Match.

4th Match: Carmelo Hayes vs. Akira Tozawa in a Singles Match | Match Rating: N/A | I thought this was a very fun back-and-forth match. Akira Tozawa got some minutes on TV which I was happy about because he can go if you watch his Dragon-Gate stuff. Carmelo Hayes finally got a win after having a long losing streak for the past couple of weeks. But now I hope this is the start of a confident Carmelo Hayes who starts to rack up wins and continue to climb the ranks.

5th Match: Alexa Bliss vs. Candice LeRae in a Singles Match in a Women's Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match | Match Rating: *** | This was a fine return match for Alexa Bliss. The beginning of the match was kind of slow, but the pace picked up towards the end with a nice back-and-forth between the two. Also, a little bit of Wyatt Sicks glitch appeared on the screen as she was wrestling, so the teases have officially started.

The Main Event Match: Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso vs. Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: ***.50 | This was a fine Main Event to close out the show. Jacob Fatu needs to be World Champion by the end of this year he's the complete package. We saw the return of Solo Sikoa after the match as he took out the WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as the show closed out.

The February 7th | WWE Friday Night SmackDown | Match of the Night: Drew McIntyre vs. LA Knight vs. Jimmy Uso in a Triple Threat Match in a Men's Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match | Match Rating: ***.75

The February 7th | Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown | Show Grade: 6.25/10 (C) | A very okay episode of Friday Night SmackDown. This was highlighted by the return of Solo Sikoa taking out Cody Rhodes at the end of the show.
