Thoughts on the March 14th Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Episode:
Thoughts: This was an entertaining episode of Friday Night SmackDown. I enjoyed this episode from start to finish. This needs to be the norm for SmackDown, and add Andrade to the mix because he's missed weekly. The show started fine with a fun Six-Man Tag Team Match. B-Fab showed out but came up short against Charlotte Flair. Tiffany Stratton came out to brawl with Charlotte Flair after the week, so mind games. The Miz gets laid out by Cody Rhodes to a roar, and Cody Rhodes dishes his final words before seeing John Cena on Monday Night RAW. Damian Priest gets destroyed by Drew McIntyre while in a match against Shinsuke Nakamura. Randy Orton and Carmelo Hayes were really fun I want this year to be Carmelo Hayes's break-out and have him win the WWE United States Championship. Axiom made his 2nd Main Roster Match against the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther in his hometown. This was the Match of the Night what a match! Please give weekly Gunther Matches. These matches are worth watching. The Street Profits became 3x WWE Tag Team Champions in a very fun Tag Team Title Main Event Match. This was a very fun episode, and we saw vignettes of Rey Fenix and Aleister Black those two gonna add a lot of depth to SmackDown. Please Road Dogg give more matches and less comedy-filled juiceless segments.
The March 14th | Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown | Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Braun Strowman, Jimmy Uso & LA Knight vs. Jacob Fatu, Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga in a Six-Man Tag Team Match | Match Rating: ***.25 | A fun opener for the crazy crowd. A lot of fun action in this match. Braun Strowman helped his team get the win as he got Tama Tonga into a power slam. Afterward, a huge brawl ensued as LA Knight and Solo Sikoa fought into the crowd. Jacob Fatu kicked Jimmy Uso's head off, and Jacob Fatu demolished Braun Strowman multiple times. An overall fun match and a fun after-match brawl.
2nd Match: Charlotte Flair vs. B-Fab in a Singles Match | Match Rating: **.50 | B-Fab is the best performance in WWE to date. She has been improving a lot and working with Tyson Kidd & Natalya. Charlotte Flair was a good matchup for her as a very experienced multiple-time champion she can prove herself against. The match wasn't that bad. Charlotte got the win. Tiffany Stratton came out to start a brawl with Charlotte, which was dragged into the backstage area.
3rd Match: Damian Priest vs. Shinsuke Nakamura in a Singles Match | Match Rating: N/A | The lowest-rated match for me from this show was Shinsuke Nakamura and Damian Priest didn't have the best chemistry during this match. Damian Priest was looking to get more added momentum, but that was taken away from Drew McIntyre as he attacked him during the match. This feud is slowly growing on me as Drew McIntyre's motives make a lot of sense being screwed out time and time again, he just reached his breaking point. I do expect this match to be very solid during the middle of the show during WrestleMania.
4th Match: Randy Orton vs. Carmelo Hayes in a Singles Match | Match Rating: **** | This was a solid match, a lot better than their first match back last year, I think, when they faced off in the King of the Ring Tournament. Randy Orton and Carmelo Hayes did have chemistry. Carmelo Hayes needs to get a belt soon this man is money, great promo work, in-ring ability, and character work. I thought Carmelo Hayes looked great in this match. But we knew Randy Orton was gonna get the win. Afterward, Randy Orton wanted to pay his respects after a good battle against Carmelo Hayes, but Carmelo Hayes declined and was struck with an RKO. Randy Orton stood in the corner lining himself up for a Punt Kick, but Carmelo Hayes was saved by Kevin Owens, and then a fight ensued between Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. Kevin Owens fled the scene through the crowd. SmackDown needs more of these matchups because they add to the show's weekly with matches from Carmelo Hayes.
5th Match: Gunther vs. Axiom in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ****.50 | What an amazingly short time this was. Axiom who's 1/2 of the WWE NXT Tag Team Champions with Nathan Frazer, is having his hometown moment as he has his 2nd ever match on SmackDown against the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. This was such an amazing moment for him as this is truly a big spot for him, and this was just showing how highly WWE Officials view him. The match was so fun and quick pace Gunther was very physical in this match, as for Axiom, he was using his aerial offense to break Gunther down. The best moment of the match was the near fall, where Axiom kicked out, and the crowd went 90s Attitude Era style and roared for him, but Gunther got the victory then afterward put a rear naked choke onto Axiom to make him fade. Please, this is what we want weekly from Gunther as of late, he has had great matches against the likes of Akira Tozawa, Otis, and now Axiom. He's one of the best in the world today, and I hope on Monday he has another style match like this against, I don't know, a returning Tyler Bate to have him be established in the process of the match. But what a great match, and this was just a joy to watch. But we need more weekly Gunther matches because they deliver every single time.
The Main Event Match: #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) (c) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) in a Tag Team Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship | Match Rating: ****.25 | This was such a fun main-event match. The Street Profits did it they became a 3x WWE Tag Team Champions. This match had a hot crowd as they were cheering throughout the match. I didn't even think The Profits were going to do it. But I love the element of a surprise because needs more shocking wins and WWE has been producing that with Iyo Sky winning the belt, Stephanie Vaquer, and now The Street Profits more of that, please. D.I.Y. and MCGM and The Profits seem to be the pending WrestleMania 41 Match it seems like which is gonna be a blast. But man what a fun show and this was a great way to end it.
The March 14th | WWE Friday Night SmackDown | Match of the Night: Gunther vs. Axiom in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ****.50
The March 14th | Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown | Show Grade: 8.50/10 (B+) | I enjoyed this episode of SmackDown a lot. There were four good matches off this show the last three matches all were fun to watch. This is what I need more of weekly not comedy just pure wrestling. Axiom being on SmackDown taking on Gunther was my match of the night, and the crowd was amazing throughout the show.
