My Thoughts on the February 13th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown:
My Thoughts: This was an all-around very well-written episode of Friday Night SmackDown. I never thought I would see SmackDown being better than RAW in 2026, but here we are. The pacing, storytelling, and in-ring action all came together to create a show that felt important from start to finish. There were plenty of solid matches throughout the night, with each bout serving a clear purpose rather than feeling like simple filler. The rivalries were advanced in meaningful ways, and several performers were given the chance to shine in ways we haven’t seen in a while. On top of that, the backstage segments and promos added an extra layer of intrigue, helping to flesh out the characters and their motivations. We also got some much-needed drama as the stakes continue to rise before WWE Elimination Chamber. The tension between certain superstars is clearly building, and you can feel that everyone is jockeying for position heading into one of the most chaotic and unpredictable events of the year. The show did a great job of making the upcoming premium live event feel like a big deal. Overall, I thought this episode was a lot of fun, with a great balance of wrestling and story progression. The future feels bright and well-produced on SmackDown, with consistent focus and direction behind the product, something that RAW, unfortunately, has been lacking lately.
The February 13th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: RHIYO (IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley) (c) vs. Lash Legend & Nia Jax in a WWE Women’s Tag Team Title | The Match Rating: N/A — Was expecting a banger, but I was kinda upset to see this match ending in a Double Count Out. I guess they're trying to protect both teams in this match, but why make the match then? I did like how Lash Legend was in this match. I'm indeed a huge fan of hers. I hope she manages to break out again this year. RHIYO were doing a good job in this match; they are probably my favorite tag team right now in WWE, and Nia Jax was okay in this match; she was clunky at some moments in this match. But the Double Count Out ruined what could've been a very fun match.
The 2nd Match: MFTs (JC Mateo, Solo Sikoa, Talla Tonga, Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa) vs. Apollo Crews, Carmelo Hayes, Ilja Dragunov, Matt Cardona & Shinsuke Nakamura in a Ten-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — This was a cool way to fit a lot of people into this match. Apollo Crews finally had his first Main Roster Match since his injury last year against Johnny Gargano, and he looked great in this match. I really enjoy watching him wrestle. The babyfaces were getting tired of the MFTs as they tried to take them down. Carmelo Hayes was doing his thing same can be said for Ilja Dragunov in this match as well. The only downside of this match is seeing Carmelo Hayes get pinned by Tama Tonga, who has been having some built-up momentum, but I guess Tama Tonga will get a future shot at the WWE United States Title as the MFTs came out on top in this match.
The 3rd Match: Alexa Bliss (with Charlotte Flair) vs. Giulia (with Kiana James) vs. Zelina in a Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Triple Threat Match | The Match Rating: **.50 — This was okay, I felt like Giulia should've won because I feel like she is more deserving of that Women's Elimination Chamber Match. Alexa Bliss is in some angle with Charlotte Flair. I feel like eventually their team will end. Zelina was in this match to add to the filler role. I didn't expect her to win this match at all. Alexa Bliss got the win and is now the 3rd Entry for the WWE Women's Elimination Chamber Match.
The 4th Match: Trick Williams vs. Rey Fenix in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **** — Probably my favorite match from the show as Trick Williams continues his cocky attitude as he cuts another savage promo on Sami Zayn, and others. I believe Trick Williams should revert to a babyface. The fans love him, and he gets the biggest chants throughout the night. Rey Fenix lost to Trick Williams a month ago, so he wants to avenge his loss. Rey Fenix looked fun in this match. He was flying around everywhere. Trick Willians looked great in this match. He was battling back and forth with Rey Fenix. I think Trick Williams has been booked to perfection, and with him being in the 5th Men's Qualifying Match for the Men's Elimination Chamber Match, we could see him in that match. Still, Trick Williams is now 2-0 against Rey Fenix as he gains more momentum.
The 5th Match: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Jordynne Grace in a WWE Women’s Title Match | The Match Rating: *** — This was pretty fun. Jordynne Grace was an exceptional opponent for Jade Cargill, as Jordynne Grace is probably the best women's in-ring talent on that SmackDown Women's Roster. I thought this was one of Jade Cargill’s top three performances, singles-wise wise in WWE. The AAA Mega Champion and WWE Intercontinental Champion, Dominik Mysterio, with Liv Morgan, were ringside to watch as Liv Morgan still has a choice to make on whom she wants to pick to wrestle at WrestleMania 42 for the WWE Women's Title. Jade Cargill pulled away with the win, and Jordynne Grace now goes to the back of the line.
The Main Event Match: Cody Rhodes vs. Jacob Fatu vs. Sami Zayn in a Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Triple Threat Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — This was an eventful Main Event. I thought this match was a lot of fun, fueled by a lot of drama between all three men as they have a bone to pick with the WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, so all three men want to punch their ticket into the WWE Elimination Chamber Match to get one step closer to Drew McIntyre. Cody Rhodes was gassed towards the end of the match I did think for a brief moment Jacob Fatu was going to win but Drew McIntyre appeared to ruin the plans for everyone as he attacked all the men in this match as he got Cody Rhodes down we all thought this was it for Sami Zayn he was going to be in the Men's Elimination Chamber Match but Cody Rhodes kicked out as an irate Drew McIntyre re-enter the ring as more drama insued. But Cody Rhodes, with a 2nd gasp of air, got Sami Zayn into a Cross Rhodes to get the win as he is the 3rd Man to enter the Men's Elimination Chamber Match. A lot of fans were upset with this decision, as it's now predictable, as we kinda know who Drew McIntyre will be facing at WrestleMania 42.
The February 13th WWE Friday Night SmackDown — The Match of the Night: Trick Williams vs. Rey Fenix in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **** — This was a lot of fun. Yes, I thought this was a lot better than the Main Event Triple Threat Match. It does suck seeing Rey Fenix was never able to be booked like how Penta was, but he still delivers some fun matches, as he did again against Trick Williams, which I thought was a very fun match, better than their first match against each other.
The February 13th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown — The Episode Grade: 7.25/10 (B-) — This was an all-around very well-written episode of Friday Night SmackDown. I never thought I would see SmackDown being better than RAW in 2026, but here we are. There were plenty of solid matches from the show, and we have some much-needed drama as the levels are getting kicked up before WWE Elimination Chamber. But I thought this episode was a lot of fun, and the future is being well-produced on SmackDown, unlike RAW.
