My Thoughts on the December 19th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown:

My Thoughts: Awful, Garbage, and Putrid. This episode of SmackDown goes to show that Road Dogg is horrible at writing. SmackDown in 2025 is 2019-Pilled WWE. This was terrible. The only saving grace is Lash Legend shining, which I love because that's what you should do with the young talent. The WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes had another great promo, and Carmelo Hayes and the WWE United States Champion Ilja Dragunov had a fun showing against D.I.Y. I have no interest in SmackDown, but because they have some of my favorite talents in wrestling, I tune in to see that. 2026 is a big year for WWE alone. 2025 was filled with chaos, horrendous PR, and terrible shows. They need to focus on the young talent, cut the corny shit, and give us enjoyable wrestling and stories.

The December 19th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown — The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Lash Legend & Nia Jax vs. The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: **.50 — This match did its job in making Lash Legend and Nia Jax another threat in the WWE Women's Tag Team Division as they took down the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions on The Kabuki Warriors. This is actually shocking because they're strapping the rocket on Lash Legend, which I'm super happy about because this is how you establish young talent, quickly have them as a threat, and go after some title. They are doing that, which I'm happy about.

The 2nd Match: Giulia (with Kiana James) vs. Alba Fyre (with Chelsea Green) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — Giulia made quick work of the former NXT UK Women's Champion as Alba Fyre got squashed. Giulia is now aiming at Chelsea Green to regain her WWE Women's United States Title she lost a month ago to Chelsea Green. And now he is looking to get that rematch to regain the title.

The 3rd Match: Carmelo Hayes & Ilja Dragunov vs. DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) (with Candice LeRae) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — This was an enjoyable tag team match. Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov are wrestling soulmates. In my opinion, they are good when against each other and great as a tag team. D.I.Y. did their thing in this match, being the heels. I loved the ending of this match, how Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes traded back and forth to finish off D.I.Y. This was a lot of fun, and Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov are the bright spots on a putrid SmackDown show.

The Main Event Match: The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy) (with Erick Rowan, Nikki Cross & Uncle Howdy) (c) vs. MFT (JC Mateo & Tonga Loa) (with Solo Sikoa, Talla Tonga & Tama Tonga) in a WWE Tag Team Title Match | The Match Rating: * — This was awful. The WWE SmackDown Tag Division was one of the best parts of this company from January to August, then The Wyatt Sicks became the Champions, which killed the value, and have been in this awful feud with the MFT's, which no one wants to see at all. This match did nothing. There was no finish. Solo Sikoa, I have become a fan with as of recently because of his matches with Sami Zayn and Gunther. He can be something similar to Jeff Cobb, who was good in NJPW, and G.O.D. can be good for the RAW Tag Division, but we can't get that because we don't get good booking consistently.

The December 19th WWE Friday Night SmackDown — The Match of the Night: Carmelo Hayes & Ilja Dragunov vs. DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) (with Candice LeRae) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.75

The December 19th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown — The Episode Grade: 3.75/10 (D) — This was one of the worst episodes of SmackDown. This had no sense or enjoyment outside of Cody Rhodes’ fiery promo on Drew McIntyre, and Carmelo Hayes & the WWE United States Champion Ilja Dragunov tearing it down with D.I.Y. in the Match of the Night. No enjoyment watching SmackDown 2022-2024. This show was very passable and fun, but when Road Dogg is the Head Writer, nothing will be fun, so this was a dud of an episode.
