The March 20th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown — The Episode Rundown:
Cody Rhodes was beaten almost to death by Randy Orton in one of the most vicious, sadistic attacks in recent memory, leaving Cody Rhodes bloodied, unconscious, and left in shock as his mentor backstabbed him, unleashing one of the most heinous attacks in the history of WWE. But the Viper is back in his element, and a lot of questions need to be answered about why he did what he did. Why did he attack Cody Rhodes the way he attacked him? Is chasing the 15th World Title Reign that important that he’ll destroy his image just to grasp the title again? So many unanswered questions, but Randy Orton will explain his actions tonight as he will have a microphone in his hand to tell the whole world why he did what he did, what is next in his plans before WrestleMania 42.
Drew McIntyre lost his WWE Undisputed Title thanks to the hands of Jacob Fatu. We thought Drew McIntyre quit WWE, but he didn’t. It was a ploy to come and attack Jacob Fatu to cost him his match against Trick Williams, which worked to his plan. But finally, the long-awaited match between these two is happening tonight as Drew McIntyre takes on Jacob Fatu on SmackDown, a WrestleMania-caliber match taking place in Raleigh, North Carolina, tonight. Who’ll come out on top, and will this be the end of this feud, or will it drive it further?
MFTs will defend their WWE Tag Team Titles against the No. 1 Contenders, the newly formed Tag Team of Damian Priest and R-Truth. This is a major match because MFTs have to worry about the Wyatt Sicks as they are lurking around for their lantern that was taken away from the hands of the MFTs. Can we see brand new WWE Tag Team Champions tonight? Can we see Damian Priest become a 5x WWE Tag Team Champion, same with R-Truth becoming a 3x WWE Tag Team Champion? Or will the MFTs push forward and manage to retain? We’ll see tonight on SmackDown.
The Irresistible Forces will be taking on the Hall of Famers, the Bella Twins, in a WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Match. This will mark the first time the Bella Twins have challenged for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles as they look to add more to their legendary resume. They will try to take away the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles from Lash Legend and Nia Jax tonight on SmackDown. A very huge match which could change the majority of the Women’s Tag Team Division as we lead closer to WrestleMania.
Fraxiom will be taking on one of the greatest tag teams in Motor City Machine Guns in Tag Team Action. Some friction has been brewing between Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. It all started during the Turmoli Match, where Alex Shelley was late on time to break up a pin in which Fraxiom eliminated them. Last week, Chris Sabin asked if Alex Shelley is all about Motor City Machine Guns, but tonight we'll see if he is.
Kit Wilson has a bone to pick with Musical Artist Jelly Roll after what transpired during Miz TV. Kit Wilson will be calling out the Musical Artist tonight on Friday Night SmackDown. We all wonder what Kit Wilson has to say, and if he’s going to even challenge Jelly Roll to a match?
