My Official Thoughts on the April 10th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown:
My Official Thoughts: The only positive aspect of this show was Royce Keyes’ debut, which actually brought a smile to my face. Unfortunately, about 99.1% of the show was terrible and nearly unwatchable. They need to do a WWE Draft; the rosters on both brands have clearly run their course. For the love of God, change these rosters. There’s nothing more refreshing than swapping titles and wrestlers to create a new, exciting mix. Also, the Pat McAfee segment was one of the worst segments of the 2020s.
The April 10th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown — My Official Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Alexa Bliss (with Charlotte Flair) vs. Bayley (with Lyra Valkyria) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ** — This was actually a passable match, Alexa Bliss and Bayley was an medicore match, but I can give it a passing grade. Bayley came off beating Lash Legend on RAW, but now she lost to Alexa Bliss on SmackDown. This whole build for the Women's Tag Team Title could've been so much better if they managed it better, but it's WWE, what do I expect? They can't even get the Main Event Programs correct, but sadly, a lot of the builds towards WrestleMania haven't been well besides Brock Lesnar & Oba Femi. Sami Zayn & Trick Williams as well. Two good builds out of thirteen matches. What a shame.
The 2nd Match: Royce Keys vs. Berto (with Angel) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This was the only match I liked from this show. Royce Keys had a good reception in his home state, a solid presentation, and we know what his first feud will be with the MFTs. Overall, this was awesome. I loved Powerhouse Hobbs in AEW, and now in WWE, I pray he gets booked to his maximum potenial because he has World Title Potenial. Also, shout out to Berto, he deserves better, but he had a fun showing in this match, one of the most underrated workers in wrestling.
The 3rd Match: Jacob Fatu vs. Tama Tonga in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: *.75 — This was very random, but I'm always happy to see Jacob Fatu go in the ring. This match was very slow, the chemistry wasn't there, and what is this story of Tama Tonga? Like he's being pushed better right now than Carmelo Hayes is, because he has some importance to the show, but Carmelo Hayes has a kayfabe knee injury, and will miss WrestleMania. Makes no sense, the after-match brawl of Drew McIntyre & Jacob Fatu was very fun to see, that was good, but man, this match wasn't good.
The 4th Match: Trick Williams (with Lil Yachty) vs. Matt Cardona in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: *.50 — I had no interest in seeing Matt Cardona fighting again, I would've liked Trick Williams to face someone like Axiom or Nathan Frazer, someone that can give Trick Williams a fun match, we knew this match was going to be a little clunky, don't get me wrong I like Matt Cardona, but he is a guy where he's a lower card guy in my opinion. Trick Williams already faced him and beat him back in January. But this match was very below average, and did nothing for me. But at least Sami Zayn kicked Lil Yachty, which was awesome, but that's the only good point of this match.
The 5th Match: Danhausen vs. Kit Wilson (with The Miz) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — I’m not into comedy wrestling, but this was a good laugh, Kit Wilson is an entertainer, he was like this in NXT UK & NXT, I’m glad of his rise as he is a staple now weekly, Danhausen made good use of his powers within. But we got Danhausen’s WWE Debut. If he is like this, beating lower-card guys, I don’t mind it, but if he wins a Tag Team Title, I’ll be very upset, but he has been a money-machine for this company, and one of the now popular acts within WWE.
The Main Event Match: Jade Cargill vs. IYO SKY in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: *.25 — IYO SKY, who's one of the greatest wrestlers on this god-green earth, is being treated as a baby. She has been a sidekick, not the main character. This makes no sense. Jade Cargill was okay, but this was not a good match. Nothing on SmackDown was good outside of Royce Keys. But man, this was very tough to watch. I never felt dejected since the 2019 WWE of watching wrestling. Well, this is all I have to say because WWE, you guys know how to ruin everything.
The April 10th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown — My Match of the Night: Royce Keys vs. Berto (with Angel) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This was Royce Key’s debut, someone I’ve been a fan of since AEW. I’m praying he gets everything he desires from the WWE brass. I’m tired of people wasting Powerhouse Hobbs because he can be more than what people think. Los Garza, please push them. Why does WWE give matches to people who can’t wrestle but squash the ones that can? WWE is confused.
The April 10th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown — My Official Episode Grade: 0.25/10 (F) — Only postive of this show was Royce Keys debut, as it actually brought a smile to my face, but 99.1% of the show was awful and unwatchable. Do a WWE Draft; these rosters on both brands ran their course. For the love of God, change these rosters. There is nothing fresher than swapping the titles and wrestlers to create a new, fresh patch of rosters. Also, the Pat McAfee Segment was one of the worst segments of the 2020s.
