Thoughts on the January 17th Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Show:
Thoughts: This was a very fun show. I like the opener with Rey Mysterio and Kevin Owens it was very enjoyable and it's always good to see Rey Mysterio on TV. The matches on this show were very good. I didn't think any match was bad. Next week show has to deliver they already got two solid bouts announced but I want other superstars to be displayed on SmackDown and I'm assuming Apollo Crews will have a match next week. But solid show overall in my opinion.
The January 17th, Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Bianca Belair & Naomi vs.Candice LeRae & Nia Jax in a Non Title Tag Team Match - Match Rating: *** - This was a solid opener for SmackDown. The ladies were doing their thing. Nia Jax & Candice LeRae pairing I have been enjoying I like that LeRae has a key place on SmackDown and is on TV weekly. But Bianca Belair and Naomi got the win. Solid opener to open the show.
2nd Match: Carmelo Hayes vs. Jimmy Uso in a Singles Match - Match Rating: ***.25 - Big Jim was hooping in this match. Jimmy Uso since WarGames has been on a mission as he has been putting on very solid performances his in - ring ability has improved because he looked good in this match. The cocky Carmelo Hayes was hooping as per usual. I really was enjoying this match until Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu appeared and attacked Jimmy Uso. I like how Carmelo Hayes try to join along but got clotheslines by Jacob Fatu.
3rd Match: The Motor City Machines Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) vs. Los Garza (Angel & Berto) (with Elektra Lopez) in a Tag Team Match - Match Rating: ***.50 - Motor City Gun Machines has been the best tag team in WWE and they constantly have banger of tag team matches and they had another one with Los Garzas. Both teams looked great I love the fact they are really using Los Garzas as both talents are highly underrated. I enjoyed the action in this match the Tag Division on SmackDown has been so entertaining and I really love the effort Triple H has been showing in the booking of the tag teams on RAW and SmackDown. Now Motor City Gun Machine will face Pretty Deadly next week assuming they'll win but I'm glad they been booked as the team of WWE because they're one of the greatest tag teams in wrestling history.
4th Match: Piper Niven (with Chelsea Green) vs. B-Fab in a Singles Match - Match Rating: N/A - This was a quick squash match but I sense a future tag team with B - Fab tagging with Michin will happen in the future to take on Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. On a side note B - Fab has improved so much I really wanna see more matches for her in the future.
5th Match: Kevin Owens vs. Rey Mysterio in a Singles Match - Match Rating: **** - This was a very fun match. Rey Mysterio is 50 years of age, and continues to move like he's in his early 20s. I thought Kevin Owens had a great performance as usual and I really like the back and forth action by both men. I like the false finishes in this match but at the end with a pop - up power bomb Kevin Owens get the win. A very solid match.
The Main Event Match: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Bayley in a WWE Women’s Championship Match - Match Rating: ****.25 - What an amazing first title defense for Tiffany Stratton and Bayley was the best opponent for her to go up against for her first title defense. I like the fact this match went for twenty minutes because that was a great amount of time to give. Based off this match I have a feeling Tiffany Stratton will indeed have a very good reign and continue to build her stock and maybe sooner than later she'll be one of the best in WWE. Great main event match to end the show.

The January 17th, Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Show Grade: 7.75/10 (B) - A very solid show all around. I really enjoyed the display of women matches as there was three, and the SmackDown Tag Division is still on fire.
