Thoughts on the January 24th Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Show:

Thoughts: It was a decent episode of SmackDown. But what kills the show is the lack of a huge roster and lack of mid - card title being utilized on the show. But I thought this episode of SmackDown had some highs and lows. But next week show is looking to be very solid before the Royal Rumble.

The January 24th, Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) vs. Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) in a Tag Team Match - Match Rating: ***.25 - The Motor City Gun Machines are on a hot streak as they defeated Pretty Deadly. There was a decent enough of back and forth in this match between both teams. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin were having fun I can tell in this match. It's crazy to think to start off the year The Motor City Gun Machine is 3-0-1. Now they'll be facing D.I.Y. at the Royal Rumble in a Best of Two Out of Three Falls Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships. I'm loving the booking of The Motor City Gun Machine they're the best team currently in WWE today and still in the world it amazes me how they can still deliver solid matches on a weekly basis. Great win for them as they add more momentum for their match at the Royal Rumble.

2nd Match: Michin & B - Fab vs. Chelsea Green & Piper Niven in a Tag Team Match - Match Rating: N/A - A momentum win for Michin and B - Fab as they take down Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. I’m enjoying the Chelsea Green and Michin feud I really hope next week Michin wins the belt.

3rd Match: Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Rhea Ripley vs. Candice LeRae, Liv Morgan, and Nia Jax in a Six - Women Tag Team Match - Match Rating: ***.50 - This was a fine little fun six - women tag team match. Bianca Belair was the star of this match she's just amazing a true ring general now really hope she gets another World Title this year. Rhea Ripley looked very solid in this match but at the end Liv Morgan rolled up Bianca Belair for the victory.

4th Match: Apollo Crews vs. Johnny Gargano (with Tommaso Ciampa) in a Singles Match - Match Rating: *** - Apollo Crews get the upset victory over Johnny Gargano with the help from Motor City Gun Machine. Apollo Crews seem to gotten banged up during the match as he rolled out the ring gingerly so hope all is well with him. But the match itself was okay wish it lasted longer.

5th Match: LA Knight vs. Tama Tonga (with Jacob Fatu) in a Singles Match - Match Rating: ***.75 - This was an okay match a lot of back and forth from both men. I thought LA Knight looked decent in this match he had some cool sequences. Tama Tonga had a good showing as well. But LA Knight gets the victory and moves on to focusing on the Royal Rumble Match.

6th Match: Damian Priest vs. Carmelo Hayes in a Singles Match - Match Rating: ****.25 - This was the Match of the Night for me. I'm very happy that Damian Priest has moved to SmackDown this gives him a fresh start with new feuds and can chase after new titles. Carmelo Hayes continues to grow his stock as the cocky rookie. He's one of my favorite parts of SmackDown because he displays that never say die attitude and he always stand on what he says at the end. So I really hope soon Carmelo Hayes starts picking up big time victories so fans can finally get behind him and start to see his rise to the Main Event scene which I believe will happen soon.

The Main Event Match: Kevin Owens vs. Jimmy Uso in a Singles Match - Match Rating: ***.50 - Jimmy Uso since WarGames has been putting together some good matches. This main event on SmackDown delivered I thought it was some good action and a nice back and forth. Also, I like how before the match Carmelo Hayes and Jimmy Uso got into it a good little add to their feud. But overall this was a very solid main event to close out the show in my opinion. Jimmy Uso really is showing people he can go in the ring because he's better than Jey Uso in my opinion in the ring.

The January 24th, WWE Friday Night SmackDown Match of the Night: Damian Priest vs. Carmelo Hayes in a Singles Match - Match Rating: ****.25

The January 24th, Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Show Grade: 6.25/10 (C+) - I thought this was an okay episode not like how it was the past two weeks but passable in my eyes. Next week show is looking stacked so I’m excited for that.
