Thoughts on the March 7th | Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Episode:
Thoughts: I don't know what happened last week. It was a very solid all-around episode of SmackDown. This whole episode was very flat. There are two passable matches on the show, but what I'm disappointed at is the fact RAW and NXT are killing it weekly, and SmackDown just feels bland. Next week's card looks promising, with a couple of solid matches.

The Opening Match: Tiffany Stratton vs. Piper Niven in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ** | This opener was very underwhelming. After the match, they made Tiffany Stratton look weak in this build against Charlotte Flair. Piper Niven, I wish I had a better booking.
2nd Match: Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) vs. Los Garza (Angel & Berto) vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) in a WWE Tag Team Championship Number One Contenders Triple Threat Tag Team Match | Match Rating: **.75 | This match didn't hit me as well. I don't know what happened the SmackDown Tag side was the hottest thing towards the end of last year now; the matches feel dull, and the story is all over the place. And the roll-up victory wasn't needed. I don't get it, so The Street Profits gets a shot next week, and then Pretty Deadly gets a shot. This whole story doesn't make sense.
3rd Match: Braun Strowman vs. Solo Sikoa in a Singles Match | Match Rating: DUD | This match just didn't hit me. Jacob Fatu got demolished by Braun Strowman after the match. Solo Sikoa's interest from the fans has evaporated as The Bloodline Civil War story didn't elevate him and made him look weak. This match wasn't needed. I could have slotted Andrade in here and let him have a fun match against someone on the SmackDown roster or moved Andrade to RAW.
4th Match: Chelsea Green (with Piper Niven) (c) vs. Michin in a Street Fight for the WWE Women’s United States Championship | Match Rating: ***.50 | This was a decent street fight match. I thought Michin was finally going to conquer Chelsea Green but the woman in a jacket denied it and came to be revealed Alba Frye had joined Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. She helped Chelsea Green retain her WWE Women's United States Championship. I like that she joined them because it's giving her something to do and she's very talented hope this is the start of her being a player on the weekly television SmackDown.
5th Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Jimmy Uso in a Singles Match | Match Rating: *.25 | This is the 3rd time this year on SmackDown they have faced off. Drew McIntyre's run on SmackDown has been disappointing the booking hasn't been good, and the match quality hasn't been good. Jimmy Uso suffered the loss. Afterward, Damian Priest came out to attack Drew McIntyre, as both men have been trying to make each other life a living hell. This all started at the Royal Rumble event when Damian Priest eliminated Drew McIntyre and at the Elimination Chamber event when Drew McIntyre got eliminated by Damian Priest then Drew McIntyre proceeded to Claymore Damian Priest to get him eliminated. The story is brewing, and I do expect a very good match at WrestleMania between the two.
The Main Event Match: Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. LA Knight in a Singles Match for the WWE United States Championship | Match Rating: ***.25 | A very passable main-event match. We saw the reign of Shinsuke Nakamura end by the end of LA Knight as he became a 2x WWE United States Champion. Now, the mid-card can have a huge reset as in LA Knight's first run with the belt, he was restoring the prestige of the title and was a workhorse champion now, with him back, I expect the division to heat up with good matches, and feuds before WrestleMania.

The March 7th | Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown | Show Grade: 3/10 (D-) | This was a very lackluster show with a lot of rematches and repeats of the same things. I hope change happens fast because SmackDown at this moment isn’t enjoyable.
