The May 16th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown | The Episode Rundown:
The first qualifying matches have been announced for the Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. For the men's side of things, we have Jimmy Uso, Rey Fenix & Solo Sikoa, who will be in a Triple Threat Match to determine which one will enter the match that has changed a lot of superstars' career trajectories. For the women’s side, we have former Money in the Bank winner Alexa Bliss, Chelsea Green & Michin, who’ll try to secure a spot for the Women’s Money in the Bank Match, which will happen at the Money in the Bank PPV, which is in three weeks in Los Angeles, California.
Tiffany Stratton is set to defend her title for the 2nd time against her rival Nia Jax. Nia Jax made her return to WWE after taking a brief hiatus and attacked her old friend and current WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton. So, potentially, the end of the feud will happen tonight, or will chaos ensue?
Aleister Black has made an immediate impact since returning to WWE. He has defeated The Miz and Carlito Hayes. But tonight again, he’ll face Carmelo Hayes for the second time after getting the win over him with a roll-up. Carmelo Hayes wants to get a rematch because he felt like A.J. Styles didn’t fairly beat him last week. Will Aleister Balck continue his impressive run and be 3-0 since returning, or will Carmelo Hayes ruin his return by giving him his first loss since returning to WWE?
Fraxiom has had an amazing start to their main roster career, having beaten the likes of Los Garzas, Pretty Deadly & the WWE Tag Team Champions in The Street Profits. But tonight they’ll face a team that is 2x WWE Tag Team Champions in DIY. DIY last week ambushed a few teams. So Nick Aldis decided to schedule this match tonight. Can Fraxiom continue their run through the SmackDown Tag Team Division and go 4-0 as a team and continue their track to being WWE Tag Team Champions?
After the shocking moment being Attitude Adjusted through a table at the Press Conference by his childhood hero, John. Cena. R-Truth will have a sit-down interview with Wade Barrett to discuss the actions that transpired after Backlash last Saturday.
