• WWE Champion John Cena will be at SmackDown as he gives his parting words before his title match against Randy Orton at Backlash in Randy Orton's hometown.

• Before the Fatal-Four Way Match at Backlash, a little tag team is set as Damian Priest and LA Knight will team together to take on the WWE United States Champion in Jacob Fatu, and Solo Sikoa.

• Jade Cargill and Nia Jax will face off to determine who’ll be the next challenger for Tiffany Stratton as they will be in a Number One Contender Match for the WWE Women’s Championship.

• Carmelo Hayes came to the defense of his partner, The Miz, after his defeat against the returning Aleister Black. Now tonight in Aleister Black's 2nd Match back in the company, he takes on the young and rising star in Carmelo Hayes.
