My Thoughts on the September 26th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown:

My Thoughts: The best way I can describe this episode is: What the hell did I just watch? Aside from Je’Von Evans and Sami Zayn stealing the show, the episode had numerous glaring issues, and that wasn’t all. We also saw a controversial Main Event with many boos, which highlights the problem—when Road Dogg is writing the show, things rarely turn out well. That’s unfortunate. The only positive thing I can find in the Drew McIntyre versus Jacob Fatu feud is that it keeps me somewhat interested as SmackDown continues into 2025.

The September 26th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown — The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) vs. Melo Don’t Miz (Carmelo Hayes & The Miz) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: *** — This wasn't a bad match by any means. I didn't even know this was a Number One Contenders Match. But the Street Profits' story of the slow burn for the pending breakup has been a highlight for me on SmackDown, as there ain't many highlights from a weekly SmackDown in the storyline department. But Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford, as of late, have had issues, and those issues have been getting furthered because of Bo Dallas, fka Uncle Howdy, but in this match, they looked fine and didn't seem to get at each other. Carmelo Hayes, since February, has been in an alliance with The Miz, as his year jas been very uneventful, and as many expected, a breakout year we have had poor booking and inconsistency on the Carmelo Hayes character. But in this match, we saw the slow seeds being planted for the babyface turn as he didn't save the Miz from breaking up a pin-fall as he stared and looked. The Miz has been trying to steal Carmelo Hayes' highlights and moments, and he has had enough. Once he wraps up his feud with The Miz, I expect Carmelo Hayes to be booked as the next star of the future for this company, as he's one of the best overlooked talents on the WWE roster.

The 2nd Match: Giulia & Kiana James vs. B-Fab & Michin in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: **.25 — This match was very average, but at least Giulia was wrestling a little bit. As of late, her booking for her run as the WWE Women's United States Champion has been poorly booked. Road Dogg doesn't know how to book anything, so knowing how he books, I knew her run wasn't going to be eventful as she feuded with Zelina Vega, and now Michin, and it seems like they are going to go after the WWE WOmen's Tag Team Titl; es/ Why couldn't she be booked how Roxanne Perez, and Stephanie Vaquer being booked on Monday Night's? Now, for B-Fab and Michin, they were okay; they have been a tag team and mainly featured as of late on SmackDown, but this feud for Giulia isn't going to do anything if she isn't a focus on SmackDown. The women should have some importance, and it seems like they don't. Now, RAW and NXT, the Women rock those shows and add amazing value for SmackDown; it's like they don't care unless you are Tiffany Stratton or Nia Jax. But sooner or later, we will get a Giulia and Michin rematch, it seems, and as I say once again, the day Road Dogg is out of Creative for SmackDown, the show will be enjoyable again.

The 3rd Match: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Je’Von Evans in a WWE United States Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — What an amazing showing for the best young talent in wrestling. Je'Von Evans answered the challenge and competed for his first piece of Main Roster Gold as he went up against the WWE United States Champion Sami Zayn. If you recall, at NXT Homecoming, Sami Zayn gave some advice to Je'Von Evans and told him how he's the future. As SmackDown was live from Orlando and noting NXT is nearby, Je'Von Evans had his second Main Roster Match, and it didn't disappoint at all. This kid was flying around like he was a rocket. The height he catches on his aerial moves is insane. Sami Zayn has been one of the highlights of SmackDown since moving to the brand in mid-August. These WWE United States Open Challenges were a show that was lacking at times. It shows how having a fighting champion who is also an incredible wrestler can make the shows enjoyable. Je'Von Evans had a chance to win the title, but a near-fall happened, and he got caught in a Helluva Kick as Sami Zayn retained and praised Je'Von Evans, raising his hand in respect, noting he's the future. It's like a throwback moment, similar to when John Cena brought energy to Sami Zayn in 2015, shocking everyone and announcing himself as part of the NXT Roster. Je'Von Evans did the same, and I can't wait for this young OG to join the Main Roster in the future. He's a diamond WWE is lucky to have because he might become one of my all-time favorites when all is said and done.

The Main Event Match: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill vs. Nia Jax in a WWE Women’s Title Triple Threat Match | The Match Rating: DUD — One of the Worst Matches in Wrestling from 2025. This was terrible, absolutely awful. Nia Jax, I take back everything I said. She botched so many moments and hurt Jade Cargill severely as she was busted open, as you can see the gash on her eyebrow. Tiffany Stratton has had one of the worst title reigns in wrestling this year. It has been very boring with no notable moments in her reign. Now she is going to WWE Crown Jewel to face the WWE Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer. But back to this match, the missed three-count isn't on the referee; so much was going on, and I feel for her, as the crowd was chanting "Ref You Suck," and miscommunication happened, but Nia Jax had horrible moments, and this was one of them. Jade Cargill needs stitches, and I hope the build for Stephanie Vaquer and Tiffany Stratton has a decent build because Tiffany Stratton is actually solid in the ring; it's just she isn't a believable babyface. But I hope Jade Cargill is okay. I feel like this was just a clusterfuck of a match. Terrible Main Event, but I'll say this Jade Cargill is a badass. She had her face exposed open, and she hit a Big Boss Man Slam like a beast.

The September 26th WWE Friday Night SmackDown  The Match of the Night: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Je’Von Evans in a WWE United States Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.50

The September 26th Episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown — The Episode Grade: 4.50/10 (D+) — The best way I can put this episode is What the hell did I watch? Outside of Je’Von Evans and Sami Zayn stealing the show, this episode had a lot of glaring holes, and this wasn’t all we had. We had a controversial Main Event with a lot of hisps, but this just shows that when you have Road Dogg writing the show, it’s never going to go well. Which is unfortunate. The only bright side I’ll say is that the Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu feud is something that’ll have me somewhat interested as SmackDown continues in 2025.
