Thoughts on the September 20th, Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown:
Thoughts: I thought this was a fun episode from LA Knight vs. Andrade to Kevin Owens being conflicted after seeing Cody Rhodes aligning with the man who caused him hell for the past five years of his career, and to Bayley & Naomi having tension to see who'll be next to face Nia Jax for the WWE Women's Championship. Back-to-back weeks SmackDown felt like a show from how it was on FOX. I personally think on FOX they got lazy, and knew the days were numbered on the network but I've enjoyed the past two weeks, and looking forward to next week where we'll see Carmelo Hayes vs. Andrade in a Best of Seven, they'll be on Match Six of that, and Bayley vs. Naomi for a shot at the Women's Championship at WWE Bad Blood.
The September 20th, Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: LA Knight (c) vs. Andrade for the WWE United States Championship: ***.75 - A very good title defense probably LA Knight best to date. Andrade is just one of the best talents in the world today every match he has must watch because of the moves he puts on, and how he wows you with the unbelievable moments. LA Knight got the upper hand and defeated Andrade in a very good match. Afterwards they shook hands and that was that.
2nd Match: Apollo Crews vs. Giovanni Vinci - N/A - From reports I've seen there some behind the scenes politicking that involves Giovanni Vinci getting squash or beaten in couple seconds or minutes. So, this is some form of punishment which is crazy because he can be used in the WWE United States Championship scene because of how good he's on the mic, and in the ring. But after the match he did beat Apollo Crews to a pulp so I'm assuming that feud isn’t going to be over yet. But sucks that Giovanni Vinci is getting booked because someone is pulling the strings to have him in the position he is in now.
3rd Match: Bayley & Naomi defeats Nia Jax & Tiffany Stratton in a Women’s Tornado Tag Team Match - Match Rating: **.75 - It was an okay women's tornado tag team match, there was some sloppiness that happened. But a lot of controversy happened at the end where Naomi, and Bayley both pinned Nia Jax at the same time which cause some issues because the winner who pinned Nia Jax or Tiffany Stratton will get a shot at Nia Jax Women's Championship so now next week there will be a Number One Contender match to determine who will face Nia Jax at WWE Bad Blood.
The Main Event Match: Kevin Owens & The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) vs. The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa) - Match Rating: ***.50 - This match was fun. It's always a joy to see Kevin Owens & The Street Profits fighting because they're ever entertaining to watch in the ring. But a lot of chaos ensued in this match. This match ended in a no contest, but DIY came out to fight The Bloodline after being blindsided by them backstage. Cody Rhodes came out to help but the interesting factor was Kevin Owens holding a chair and looking to bash it on the back of Cody Rhodes, but he held back and didn't go through with it. So many interesting outcomes came from this match. Very interesting to see where everything goes.
The September 20th, Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Match of the Night: LA Knight (c) vs. Andrade for the WWE United States Championship: ***.75
September 20th, Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Show Grade: 7.50/10 (B-) - A very enjoyable show, I'm really interested to see how Kevin Owens going to be these next months until the eventual turn on Cody Rhodes.
