Thoughts on the September 6th, Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown:
Thoughts: This was the final episode with SmackDown being on FOX programming, and I'm glad this era is over. SmackDown had it ups and downs but in the FOX Era there was more moments that fans want to forget like Kofi Kingston losing in nine seconds and moving back to the tag division, Roman Reigns dog food segment, with a dog dressing up as Roman Reigns, the Roman Reigns, and Baron Corbin storyline, and lastly because I can't list everything but Cody Rhodes giving up his Royal Rumble win to The Rock which was one of the worst moments which led to backlash, and to WWE pivoting the plans again for WrestleMania because of the fan outrage. But now onto the episode all the five matches were mediocre at best. Bayley vs. Tiffany Stratton was probably the match of the night, then we saw Giovanni Vinci get beaten in three seconds to Apollo Crews which led to fans being mad on social media, and reports were made that even WWE Creative were displeased by the booking of Giovanni Vinci re - debut back on WWE Television after weeks of hyping him up. The Triple Threat Match involving Kevin Owens, and A - Town Down Under was okay the crowd was hot for this match, and tension still growing between partners Austin Theory, and Grayson Waller but Kevin Owens got the victory. Chelsea Green got a shocking victory over Michin from the help of Piper Niven. The Main Event we saw The Bloodline reign supreme beating DIY, and The Street Profits in an Eight - Man Tag Team Match. Next week on SmackDown on USA Network it's looking pretty solid with Carmelo Hayes vs. Andrade for the fifth time as the series is tied at 2 - 2, Kevin Owens & a mystery partner take on A - Town Down Under in a Tag Team Match, and Cody Rhodes is defending his WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa in a Steel Cage Match. I really hope now with WWE on FOX is over we can see SmackDown finally be an enjoyable weekly show like how RAW, and NXT is.
The September 6th, Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Bayley vs. Tiffany Stratton - Match Rating: ***.25 - Solid opener, I thought this was the best match of the night, Bayley gets the victory after returning last week to help Michin. I assume Bayley gonna get her rematch against Nia Jax for the championship. But solid opener only good match on the show in my opinion.
2nd Match: Apollo Crews vs. Giovanni Vinci - Match Rating: DUD - I have no words for this, I was honestly so shocked, and upset because back in NXT Apollo Crews, and Giovanni Vinci faced off against each other and put on a very good match, and that’s what I was expecting here but this was just a shocking lost because Giovanni Vinci in his debut lost in couple seconds and made to be a joke. I hope they actually push this guy as he can be a good piece for the WWE Mid - Card side of things has the look, persona, can talk on the mic, and can wrestle but I don’t know what Triple H was thinking maybe it’s some type of punishment who knows but this was terrible, and people online were displeased by this. On the bright side Apollo Crews was 0-19 this year and got his victory of 2024. This was just terrible 0/10.
3rd Match: Kevin Owens vs. Austin Theory vs. Grayson Waller in a Triple Threat Match - Match Rating: *** - This was an okay triple threat match, I popped for Kevin Owens as he was destroying both men. We saw more tension between Austin Theory & Grayson Waller, but at the end the Prizefighter gets the victory. And next week faces A - Town Down Under and has a to wait until next week to find out who his opponent is.
4th Match: Chelsea Green vs. Michin - Match Rating: N/A - Chelsea Green actually won a match, and defeated Michin with the help from Piper Niven, now if we have a Michin vs. Chelsea Green, and Piper Niven feud I’m totally down for that because they would give us solid matches if given a lot of time in the square circle.
The Main Event Match: The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Lia, and Solo Sikoa) defeats #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) in a Eight - Man Tag Team Match - Match Rating: **.75 - Kind of a let down of a match I thought this match was gonna be fun, outside of Tommaso Ciampa suplex to the outside the match was predictable as The Bloodline got the victory.

September 6th, Edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown Show Grade: 4.25/10 (C) - It was a very poor finale as this was the final episode on FOX for SmackDown as next week they move to the USA Network. The matches were meh, and the Debut of Giovanni Vinci on SmackDown was a flop. Overall poor episode after having a string of solid episodes the past few weeks.
