Thoughts on the August 5th Edition of Monday Night RAW:
Thoughts: This was an excellent episode of RAW, I really enjoyed everything and there was the much needed reset. We got new feuds, new arrivals, and new feuds on the horizon. This is what we need every week for both shows on RAW & SmackDown.
The August 5th, Monday Night RAW Shows Match Rating:
The Opening Match: Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser – Match Rating: ****.25 – This was a hot opener for RAW. Very hard – hitting, crowd was hot for this match, and Pete Dunne made an apperence, but his cheap shot didn’t work. Every time Sheamus & Ludwig Kaiser have a match it’s always a banger, and this match was a banger. Great opener, and great win for Sheamus.
2nd Match: Lyra Valkyria vs. Shayna Baszler (with Sonya Deville & Zoey Stark) – Match Rating: N/A – Nothing much, a DQ happened and Damage CTRL, came out and attack Sonya Deville group. I really wanted this match to be long, but it was just made so they can further the ongoing feuds with Sonya Deville group.
3rd Match: The New Day vs. The Authors of Pain (with The Final Testament) – Match Rating: *.75 – Nothing much happened during the match but after we finally saw the arrival of Odyssey Jones, and he has aligned himself with The New Day too help them with their ongoing feud with The Final Testament.
4th Match: A – Town Down Under vs. The Awesome Truth – Match Rating: **.25 – There’s so many talented unused teams on RAW and we were subjected to The Awesome Truth, and A – Town Down Under, the match wasn’t good whatsoever. Just an unneeded match.
5th Match: Damian Priest vs. JD McDonagh (with Carlito) – Match Rating: ***.75 – This match was sick; I enjoyed the hell out of this bout. JD McDonagh was bumping the shit out of everything, it was hard – hitting, such a fun match and the crowd was super-hot for Damian Priest. Afterwards The “New” Judgement Day came and attacked Damian Priest, but Rhea Ripley came out for the save.
6th Match: Iyo Sky (with Kairi Sane) vs. Sonya Deville (with Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark) – Match Rating: **.50 – Sonya Deville made Iyo Sky have a bad match how? I don’t know. She couldn’t keep up with Iyo Sky she had moments of sloppy techniques. The sickest moment of the match was when Iyo Sky, and Kairi Sane did the double high – flying move. But yeah, this match didn’t do anything.
The Main Event: The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis, Erick Rowan, & Joe Gacy) vs. American Made (Brutus Creed, Chad Gable, & Julius Creed) – Match Rating: **** - A great main event, and a great in – ring debut of the group The Wyatt Sicks. They had chemistry, and the crowd loved it.
The Shows Match of the Night: Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser – Match Rating: ****.25
August 5th Edition of WWE Monday Night RAW Show Grade: 9.25/10 (A-) – What a damn episode of Monday Night RAW. This felt like a much needed reset we have new feuds, new people involved for example Odyssey Jones, and we saw Bronson Reed get his breakout moment after attacking Seth “Freakin” Rollins to the point he couldn’t even breathe and was coughing up blood. And we saw the highly anticipated in – ring debut of the stable known as The Wyatt Sicks. Overall amazing show, this is what we need every week.
