My Official Thoughts on the June 15th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW:
My Official Thoughts: The Bloodline ruined this episode for me. From the constant reheating of the same old segments from years ago to Jacob Fatu now feeling like a joke, it all fell flat. He’s not presented as a man on a mission anymore; he’s just a guy doing Roman Reigns’ dirty work. On top of that, Jey Uso is awful in every aspect of wrestling. The whole show was dragged down by WWE Creative trying to give The Bloodline their own nWo ’99-style reunion. If you look at what happened with the nWo in 1999, they were brought back because WCW had no idea how to create something new and magical, so they leaned on what once made them successful, and it failed. The Bloodline has been awful in a similar way, which only proves that Roman Reigns can’t carry anything on his own without The Bloodline propping him up. As for the rest of the episode, it was very mediocre, with only one genuinely good match on the entire show. The only other things that entertained me were Je’Von Evans hinting at a feud with The Vision and Oba Femi destroying Dominik Mysterio. Overall, it was just a disappointing episode. On paper, you’d think it would deliver like the last two Monday Night RAW episodes, but this is WWE—they’re allergic to consistency. Also, can we please have Roxanne Perez break away from The Judgment Day and let her stand on her own? This whole Judgment Day stuff isn’t good either.
My Official Match Ratings for the June 15th WWE Monday Night RAW Episode:
The Opening Match: IYO SKY vs. Raquel Rodriguez in a Queen Of The Ring Semi-Final Round Match | The Match Rating: *** — It was okay, very happy with the outcome, as IYO SKY is heading to the Queen of the Ring Final Round, as she'll either face Charlotte Flair or the WWE Women's World Champion Liv Morgan. Raquel Rodriguez, I had a fear she would win in this match, and knowing WWE, they have Liv Morgan vs. Raquel Rodriguez Final Round, but luckily, they didn't go that route. ITYO SKY is my pick to win the Queen of the Ring Tournament. I feel like it's time for IYO SKY to get her 3rd Reign as the WWE Women's World Champion. But this was decent, and very happy to see IYO SKY back on top, and inching closer to the WWE Women's World Champion.
The 2nd Match: Chad Gable vs. Rusev (with Ethan Page) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — The only good match from this episode of Monday Night RAW as Chad Gable had his first match back as himself since last year in June as he took on Rusev with Ethan Page by his side, and if I can add I have been enjoying those two together a have good heel tandam. The match was very fun, mainly because Chad Gable is one of the most complete in-ring wrestlers in all of WWE, but with Rusev, he was decent in this match, and he did his part well. Chad Gable was doing everything in his power to make Rusev tap. The crowd was so behind Chad Gable as he won them back over, hoping WWE does right by him, and has him have a big program for a title of sorts. But in the end, Chad Gable came away with the win, but was jumped after by Ethan Page as Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio came and made the save for Chad Gable, showing the respect back to him, after what he did for them last week on Monday Night RAW.
The 3rd Match: Charlotte Flair (with Alexa Bliss) vs. Roxanne Perez (with Liv Morgan) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: *.75 — I was very disappointed in this match. When I saw the graphic for this match, I said, Okay, they've never fought each other in a singles match. This could have been a very good match, but it was below average. Knowing how talented Charlotte Flair and Roxanne Perez are, they'll have another match down the line, and it'll be much better. But this match was basically Liv Morgan trying to help Roxanne Perez, and it didn't work. Liv Morgan basically cost Roxanne Perez the match. I know WWE is going to have Roxanne Perez turn on Liv Morgan eventually. It's brewing toward that, but can we have a match with these two, Charlotte Flair and Roxanne Perez, with a clean, proper finish? Charlotte Flair gets the win via submission. As for Friday, she'll be taking on the WWE Women's World Champion Liv Morgan in the semi-final of the Queen of the Ring Tournament, in which the winner will take on IYO SKY at Night of Champions in the final round of the Queen of the Ring Tournament. I expect Charlotte Flair to win this coming Friday on Friday Night SmackDown.
The 4th Match: Je’Von Evans vs. Austin Theory (with Logan Paul) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — Je'Von Evans, before the match, was cutting a very solid promo. I thought he was serious, and really getting to the chase as he faces Jey Uso in the Semi-Final of the King of the Ring Tournament, which that match is going to happen on SmackDown. But this promo was solid. But seeing The Vision trying to get Je'Von Evans to join, just for it to backfire, was okay. But if this means that we can get Bron Breakker vs. Je'Von Evans in the future, sign me up. Je'Von Evans’ match against Austin Theory was probably the weakest of his Main Roster Run, and this wasn't because of Je'Von Evans; it was mainly because Austin Theory isn't that good of a wrestler. The match ended with Bron Breakker hitting a vicious spear to Je'Von Evans mid-air as The Street Profits made the save, as Angelo Dawkins returned from injury.
The Main Event Match: Oba Femi vs. Dominik Mysterio (with JD McDonagh) in a King Of The Ring Semi-Final Round Match | The Match Rating: N/A — Now this was a very fun match because Dominik Mysterio played his role really well of someone who didn’t want to really get into it with Oba Femi but was finding any dirty tactic to take him down. Dominik Mysterio used JD McDonagh as a distraction to get a hammer. Then he low-blowed Oba Femi to hit many 619s and a Frog-Splash, just for Oba Femi to kick out at one, as it couldn’t get any worse for Dominik Mysterio; he and JD McDonagh were getting running forearms to the corners of the ring, then chokeslamming both men. The finish happened as now Oba Femi is heading to Night of Champions in the Final Round of the King of the Ring Tournament as he’ll face either his long-time rival Je’Von Evans or Jey Uso as their match is this Friday. But this was a lot of fun, really enjoyed this match even though it went under five minutes long.
My Official Match of the Night for the June 15th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW: Chad Gable vs. Rusev (with Ethan Page) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — The only real highlight from this episode of Monday Night RAW was Chad Gable’s first match back under his own name since last June, as he faced Rusev with Ethan Page in his corner. I’ve really been enjoying Gable and Page together; they make a strong heel tandem. The match itself was a lot of fun, largely because Chad Gable is one of the most complete in-ring performers in WWE. Rusev held up his end and did well too. Gable spent most of the match trying everything he could to make Rusev tap out. The crowd was firmly behind him, and he clearly won them back over. Hopefully, WWE rewards that reaction with a major title program for Gable. In the end, Chad Gable picked up the win, but Ethan Page attacked him afterward, only for Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio to run in and make the save, returning the respect Gable had shown them the previous week on RAW.
My June 15th Official Episode Grade for WWE Monday Night RAW: 4.75/10 (D+) — The Bloodline has ruined this episode for me, the countless reheating of the same old segments from years back to Jacob Fatu becoming a joke now becauuse he’s not a guy on a mission just a guy who does Roman Reigns dirty work, mixed in with the fact Jey Uso is awful at every aspect of wrestling. This episode was weighed down by the WWE Creative wanting The Bloodline to have their nWo ’99 reunion. Now, if you look up what happened with the nWo in 1999, they were brought back as WCW had no idea how to create magic, so they brought back something that made them successful, and guess what? It failed. The Bloodline has been awful, which goes to show Roman Reigns can’t do anything on his own without the involvement of The Bloodline. Now for the rest of the episode, it was very mediocre, with only one good match on the show. The only other thing that had me entertained was Je’Von Evans hinting at a feud with The Vision and Oba Femi destroying Dominik Mysterio. It was just an all-around disappointing episode. Which one paper you would’ve thought it was going to deliver like the last two Monday Night RAW episodes, but it’s WWE; they are allegoric to consistently. Also, can we have Roxanne Perez break away from The Judgement Day and have her be on her own? This whole Judgement Day stuff is not good as well.
