My Thoughts on the December 8th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW:
My Thoughts: This was definitely a filler episode, but in a good way, like they planted some future stories and future matches. So I think in hindsight this episode was okay. The matches slated on this show, I enjoyed two of the four. The first two matches were quite fun. Gunther cut a cutthroat and very straightforward to the point promo, and he promises he would make Cena tap in which I doubt happens, but a good challenge to set for yourself. The RAW Tag Division is starting to have a fresh breath of air with the Usos being back and adding starpower to it, and LA Knight is out and got written off by the Vision. The Women's Tag Division is continuing to be a spotlight on WWE TV, and I think this was a good balance show. RAW has been one of the few bright spots in a horrendous year for WWE, not only for TV and PLE, but behind the scenes, 2026, they need to have younger talent established, more good matches, and stop with these wanting moments and not doing anything outside of that. Next year is Triple H’s put up or shut up year because this year he regressed behind the pen.
The December 8th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: IYO SKY (with Rhea Ripley) vs. Kairi Sane (with Asuka) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — This was a fun little opener between IYO SKY and 1/2 of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, Kairi Sane. Both have a lot of history, and I like how this WWE Women's Tag Team Division feels so important, as they have so many heavy hitters in this division now. But this match could've been a lot better, knowing they had had good battles, but we also saw Asuka interfering and causing some havoc, but luckily, Rhea Ripley was there to shut a lot of it down. IYO SKY got the win, and the drama in the WWE Women's Tag Team Division continues to rise, and it has been exciting to see.
The 2nd Match: AJ Styles & Dragon Lee (c) vs. The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) in a WWE World Tag Title Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — Outside of a couple of botches, this was a very fun Tag Team Title defense. AJ Styles and Dragon Lee are restoring this Tag Division that has been gone unattended to by creative, being a spot on a good weekly RAW show that didn't get enough showcase. But this was a lot of fun, very clunky at times, but man, The War Raiders are such a sick tag team, and AJ Styles and Dragon Lee pairing has done wonders for RAW. They've been one of the better tag teams in WWE this year. The match ended with AJ Styles hitting the Phenomenal Forearm, and now they shift focus to Saturday as they take on the rising stars of the industry in Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater at Saturday Night Main Event for John Cena's Final Career Match. After the match, we saw The Usos reinsert themselves back into the Tag Division, and this was much needed as they provide depth and star-power alongside The New Day. I think this is going to be fun, but my gut also feels like Jey Uso is going to turn on Jimmy Uso. We might not have seen the last of the Singles Run from Jey Uso, but great stuff all around, and excited for the RAW Tag Division future.
The 3rd Match: Roxanne Perez (with Liv Morgan) vs. Lyra Valkyria (with Bayley) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: *** — This wasn't bad but this could've been a lot better they have had great matches in the past this was a letdown for me but I know wjere this is going as we know the WWE Women's Tag Divison is heating up. Lyra Valkyria, since SummerSlam has been very cold in my opinion. I hope she has a strong 2026, and the same goes for Bayley. And for Roxanne Perez, she has been one of the breakout stars of RAW and has been positioned well. This match ended with Roxanne Perez getting the win, and The Judgement Day continues to run on hot fumes with how everything has been going with the stable over the past weeks.
The Main Event Match: LA Knight vs. Logan Paul (with Paul Heyman) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **.25 — Funny enough, their SummerSlam 2024 Match was very good, but this match just didn't work well. I don't know, Logan Paul just didn't gel with LA Knight in this match whatsoever. This match was basically okay. We're going to write off LA Knight for some time, and he gets destroyed by the four members, and yes, four. We all know the masked man is part of the stable and soon will be revealed. I probably say my best bet is January 5th when CM Punk takes on Bron Breakker for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. But this match didn't do it for me, but what did was the after-match stuff with Bron Breakker cutting another good promo and the write-off for LA Knight, but Logan Paul shouldn't Main Event, and we know he and Rey Mysterio are going to have a match after what he did earlier in the night. But the Vision, as of late, has been producing some good stuff because of Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Paul Heyman, and the Masked Man.
The December 8th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match of the Night: AJ Styles & Dragon Lee (c) vs. The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) in a WWE World Tag Title Match | The Match Rating: ***.75
The December 8th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Episode Grade: 6.75/10 (C+) — This felt like a huge filler episode of RAW, but they actually laid out some future stories and matches, which I don’t mind. I thought at times this episode was enjoyable. But I really hope leading into 2026, the young talent takeover on RAW and SmackDown need a reset for rosters and have exciting talent and matches to clean out the nasty 2025 year.
