My Official Thoughts on the June 8th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW:
My Official Thoughts: A very strong episode once again in-ring-wise. Back-to-back weeks with quality in-ring work on Monday Night RAW, which is funny because April-August RAW is fine, then once SummerSlam comes, the celebrities reappear, and the laziness rises even more. I did really enjoy this episode, and the crowd made it much better to watch for me. Next week we have some Semi-Finals Matches, and it looks like a very fun show.
My Official Match Ratings for the June 8th WWE Monday Night RAW Episode:
The Opening Match: Liv Morgan vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch vs. Chelsea Green in a Queen of the Ring First-Round Fatal Four-Way Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — This was a decent match still don't get how WWE Creative doesn't have anything for Liv Morgan. It's lazy that they are waiting for Stephanie Vaquer when they could just have a filler feud with someone as they wait for Stephanie Vaquer to get better. But this match was decent. Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch & Chelsea Green are all looking to get into the Semi-Finals, but it simply couldn't happen as Liv Morgan, the WWE Women's World Champion, got the win and is advancing to the Semi-Finals of the Queen of the Ring Tournament, which makes zero sense, but that’s WWE Creative for you.
The 2nd Match: Sol Ruca (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria in a WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title Match | The Match Rating: **** — Awesome first title defense for Sol Ruca as she took on the former WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria in what I have to say is one of the best TV Matches on the Women's Side this year. A very entertaining match involving two of the big future pieces of WWE. I do have a sense that Lyra Valkyrie is going to turn heel. I don't know why her vibe just gives me that these past weeks. But this match rocked, the Sol Snatcher was very much sick as Sol Ruca retained and had her first successful defense against Lyra Valkyria.
The 3rd Match: Penta (c) vs. Rey Mysterio in a WWE Intercontinental Title Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — Simply watching two of the best Luchadors of all time, Pentagon Jr. took on Rey Mysterio as the WWE Intercontinental Title was on the line, and this match rocked throughout Paris, France. Rey Mysterio is over 50, and he moves like himself from WCW. Penta was awesome, the aerial offense, and electric high-octane moves were awesome to see. Rey Mysterio, I knew he wasn't going to win, but this match was such a delight to watch as Penta retained his WWE Intercontinental Title. Ethan Page & Rusev attacked Penta & Rey Mysterio afterwards, as Rusev ripped Rey Mysterio's mask. Dragon Lee tried to make the save, but he was attacked, and Chad Gable came out as the crowd exploded and saved all the men. This was the best moment of the episode. Chad Gable is the most over person on the main roster. They’d better give this man a proper push.
The Main Event Match: Je’Von Evans vs. Ricky Saints vs. Seth Rollins vs. Talla Tonga in a King of the Ring First-Round Fatal Four-Way Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — What an amazing Main Event Match. This was awesome, probably the best First Round King of the Ring Match of this tournament so far. Seth Rollins & Ricky Saints, from the few moments they wrestled each other, I would like them to fight in the future. Talla Tonga had his best performance in WWE thus far, and as someone who isn't a fan of him, he did look decent in this match. Now the MVP of this match, Je'Von Evans, was flying around and making highlight reels in this match. After hearing the rumor that Seth Rollins is the planned King of the Ring Winner, I was shocked to see him lose, but Bron Breakker’s spear to Seth Rollins was awesome. Je'Von Evans moves on to the Semi-Finals now. I want Je'Von Evans vs. Oba Femi in the Finals of the King of the Ring Tournament, the easiest decision ever. It can start the story of Je'Von Evans & Oba Femi on the Main Roster, but a very fun match.
My Official Match of the Night for the June 8th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW: Je’Von Evans vs. Ricky Saints vs. Seth Rollins vs. Talla Tonga in a King of the Ring First-Round Fatal Four-Way Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — What an incredible Main Event Match! This was fantastic, likely the best First Round King of the Ring Match in this tournament so far. I hope Seth Rollins and Ricky Saints face each other again in the future, given the brief moments they wrestled. Talla Tonga had his best WWE performance yet; although I’m not usually a fan, he looked quite decent here. The standout star was Je’Von Evans, who was flying around and creating highlight-reel moments. I was surprised to see Seth Rollins lose, especially since rumors had him as the planned King of the Ring winner, but Bron Breakker’s spear to Seth was impressive. Je’Von Evans advances to the Semi-Finals. I’d love to see Je’Von Evans vs. Oba Femi in the Finals—an obvious choice. It could kickstart a compelling story for both on the main roster, and it would be a very exciting match.
My June 8th Official Episode Grade for WWE Monday Night RAW: 8.25/10 (B+) — Great Episode of Monday Night RAW from an in-ring standpoint. I did enjoy Oba FGemi’s and LA Knight’s Segments. Monday Night RAW feels more of a complete wrestling show than SmackDown is, and it is a night and day difference.
