My Thoughts on the February 2nd Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW:

My Thoughts: What a way to kick off the Road to WrestleMania. Before anything else, we saw an unleashed Bron Breakker start Monday Night RAW by tearing apart the arena, voicing his displeasure, and insisting there’s a conspiracy against him planted by RAW General Manager Adam Pearce. This was some solid stuff, and to add even more to it, we saw LA Knight take out members of The Vision. That leads me to think he’s doing a “Vision Hunter” storyline, which is going to be very fun in my opinion if he manages to defeat all four members of The Vision. Je’Von Evans and El Grande Americano had a very fun opening match, which was the Match of the Night for me. There were a lot of great high-flying moments and drama, especially when the original El Grande Americano came out and disrupted the match, helping Je’Von Evans secure the victory. What I really liked about this match is that we finally saw Je’Von Evans in a longer, more structured match where he was allowed to fully showcase himself. Now that this feud is over, I hope he’s in one of the Elimination Chamber qualifying matches and ends up in the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match at this year’s event in Chicago, Illinois. Gunther mocking AJ Styles by coming out to his music was great heel work, and now he’s calling himself the “Career Killer,” which is a strong nickname. What made me even happier was seeing Dragon Lee getting a major mini-feud. He came out to defend his former tag team partner, with whom he won the WWE World Tag Team Titles last year, and started putting a beating on Gunther before Gunther dismantled him and choked him out. This is a good mini-feud for both sides, and I think Dragon Lee has been doing major things. I expect that to continue even after his program with Gunther. Oba Femi finally arrived on Monday Night RAW and destroyed The Viking Raiders. The match didn’t even start; he just went in and dismantled both Erik and Ivar, and the crowd popped big. I hope he stays on Monday nights because he’d be a great addition to the show. The Bella Twins are back, and they made it known they want to chase the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, which doesn’t surprise me at all. I kind of expected that when Brie Bella returned. What confused me is how Nikki Bella is suddenly back to being a full-on babyface again feels like creative malpractice, but we move. Penta secured a major victory over Bronson Reed thanks to the help of LA Knight, the self-proclaimed Vision Hunter. Penta got the win by count-out, which makes sense because it protects Bronson Reed. The main event was a disaster in my eyes. It was very underwhelming and didn’t connect with the crowd, who seemed not care about the match at all. It was filled with botches and unfortunate situations that weren’t the wrestlers’ fault. This isn’t the first time Raquel Rodriguez and Stephanie Vaquer have had a title match that turned out poorly; the in-ring chemistry just isn’t there, and it was obvious again that nothing was really flowing. The producers for this match should have done a much better job, and that table spot where it barely broke was tough to watch. Liv Morgan came out but was told by Raquel Rodriguez not to get involved, and ultimately, she cost Raquel the match and her chance at becoming WWE Women’s World Champion. Now that that feud is over, Stephanie Vaquer has to worry about Liv Morgan, who made it very clear she wants the WWE Women’s World Title at WrestleMania this year. But the other question is: what does Raquel Rodriguez do now? She got screwed out of the Royal Rumble Match by Liv Morgan and then screwed out of her WWE Women’s World Title Match by her as well. The tension is obviously building toward a split down the line. I just wish Creative had given Stephanie Vaquer better opponents. Her title run has mainly been Nikki Bella and Raquel Rodriguez; that’s it. That’s a horrendous booking for one of the most talented wrestlers in the world. With Liv Morgan, this will be the first semi-legitimate in-ring opponent she’s feuding with during this reign. I’m not counting IYO SKY and Tiffany Stratton because those feuds didn’t feel serious enough. WWE needs to fix this habit of giving title shots to people who don’t deserve them or who have had too many opportunities. Raquel Rodriguez has had three title matches in three months and lost every single time. They need to give performers like Ivy Nile, Kairi Sane, and Roxanne Perez chances at the WWE Women’s World Title because they can go in the ring and give Stephanie Vaquer a genuinely good match. The booking needs to be fixed. The main event segment blew me away, as CM Punk, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, came face-to-face with the Men’s Royal Rumble winner, Roman Reigns. This made me so happy because we’re finally getting a pure professional wrestling feud, not some cinematic, overproduced story. This is going to be amazing and has the ceiling of being a generational feud. Now that the match is official for WrestleMania, I can’t wait to see the rest of the build. Overall, it was a decent episode of Monday Night RAW, and I can’t wait for next week’s show as we officially kick off the Road to the Elimination Chamber.

The February 2nd Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Je’Von Evans vs. El Grande Americano (with Bravo Americano & Rayo Americano) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — This was a very electric opening for this episode of Monday Night RAW, and I'm glad this match was able to have some decent amount of minutes as the match between before ended with an untimely injurt to Je'Von Evans which cause the referee to call off the match and seemingly give the win to El Grande Americano. Je'Von Evans is coming off an impressive performance at the Royal Rumble, as he lasted the longest in the Men's Royal Rumble, being labeled as the Iron Man. You can't say the same to El Grande Americano, but onto the match, it started quickly with Je'Von Evans using his high-flying offense with Bravo Americano, and Rayo Americano tried to disrupt the match using outside tactics. There were a few instances where I thought El Grande Americano was going to get the win, but I'm very glad he didn't because Je'Von Evans needs it more than anything to have a sweep against all members of Los Americanos and end his first feud on the Main Roster on a high note. Je'Von Evans hits a crazy Coast to Coast Swanton Bomb, which I didn't think was possible. But El Grande Americano still trying to find ways to win and Rayo Americano was giving him the metal plate to seemingly end the match but thanks from the Orginal El Grande Americano coming out to cost Je'Von Evans the Young OG manage to get the win in the Rematch against El Grande Americano and have his first feud close with a major boost, and now for El Grande Americano he has to face against the Original El Grande Americano as those two will go toe-to-toe in the near future. But very happy for Je'Von Evans because he needed this more than anything. I'm interested to see what's next for him on Monday Night RAW.

The 2nd Match: Penta vs. Bronson Reed (with Austin Theory, Paul Heyman & Logan Paul) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — This match wasn’t bad by any means. I thought this match was going to be Penta putting together a gutsy performance to try to take down The Vision’s Bronson Reed, in which he kinda did, but with some help on the side. Bronson Reed is someone I wish they could’ve captizlixed off his momentum when he defeated Roman Reigns, but it seems like he’s very cold at the moment, like the rest of The Vision, unless your name is Bron Breakker. But this match did its job in terms of having Penta have a big victory over the man who defeated Roman Reigns, and Kazuchika Okada back in New Japan. But I’m digging the LA Knight Vision Hunter storyline because I would like to see LA Knight taking out every member and beating them one by one and having major momentum. But I did also like the fact that they did protect Bronson Reed, having him lose in Count Out fashion. But great win for Penta, it helps him a lot in the long run, and now LA Knight has four men looking for him as The Vision hunter isn’t stopping until all the members of The Vision are dealt with.

The Main Event Match: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Raquel Rodriguez in a WWE Women’s World Title Philadelphia Street Fight | The Match Rating: *.75 — This was very underwhelming and didn’t fall well with the crowd as they seemed to not even care about this match whatsoever. This match was filled with botches and unfortunate situations that weren’t the wrestlers ‘ fault. This isn’t the first time Raquel Rodriguez and Stephanie Vaquer had a Title Match where it was very poor and the in-ring chemistry just isn’t there, and it was evident again that nothing was flowing right. The producers of this match should’ve been a lot better, and man, that table spot where it barely broke was a tough scene to watch. Liv Morgan came out but was instructed by Raquel Rodriguez not to, and cost Raquel Rodriguez the match and her chance of being WWE Women’s World Champion. Now that that feud is over, Stephanie Vaquer has to worry about Liv Morgan, as she made it very clear she wants her WWE Women’s World Title at WrestleMania this year. But the other question is what’s Raquel Rodriguez going to do? She got screwed out of the Royal Rumble Match by Liv Morgan and her WWE Women’s World Title Match by Liv Morgan. The tension is obviously growing toward a split in the future. But I just wish the creative gave better opponents for Stephan, i.e., Vaquer, her title run has been Nikki Bella, and Raquel Rodriguez, that’s it. Horrendous booking for one of the most talented wrestlers in the world. Now with Liv Morgan, this would be the first semi-good wrestler she’ll be feuding with, and I’m not counting IYO SKY and Tiffany Stratton because they weren’t serious enough. But WWE needs to fix this thing where they give title shots to people who don’t deserve them or have had many title opportunities. Raquel Rodriguez had three title matches in a span of three months and loss every single time they need to give performers like Ivy Nile, Kairi Sane, and Roxanne Perez chances at the WWE Women’s World Title because they can go in the ring and can give a good match for Stepahnie Vaquer. Booking needs to be fixed.

The February 2nd Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW  The Match of the Night: Je’Von Evans vs. El Grande Americano (with Bravo Americano & Rayo Americano) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — Je’Von Evans is someone who I can see become a major babyface and I’m very glad he got his first feud over with as he standed tall over the Los Americanos. Now he’s on to bigger things, and now El Grande Americano has issues with the Original El Grande Americano, which is going to be interesting how they settle that feud out.

The February 2nd Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Episode Grade: 6.75/10 (C+) — Wasn’t the best episode of Monday Night RAW as it felt flat, and only three matches is ridiculous for a wrestling show. The few bright spots from this episode were Bron Breakker’s rampage, El Grande Americano & Je’Von Evans having a very fun match, Oba Femi dismantling The Viking Raiders, in which the crowd enjoyed and even chanted “OBA” throughout the whole thing. Also, Dragon Lee getting a big spot as he avenge hids friend AJ Styles in attacking Gunther, but it backfired as Gunther dismantled Dragon Lee. The Main Event Segment, where the WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk & Roman Reigns, produced some good quality stuff. I think next week will be a lot better with the WWE Elimination Chamber Qualifying Matches beginning, and hopefully, we get some quality matches with some good in-ring work. But overall very semi-decent episode of Monday Night RAW.
