Thoughts on the January 6th Edition of WWE Monday Night RAW: Netflix Premiere, Show:

Thoughts: A very disappointing show. A lot of hype coming into this but the matches didn't deliver outside of the Main Event Match. I thought not highlighting the young talent wasn't good like they should have added two more matches a Gunther Match, and an All - Star Tag Team Match with a bunch of hoopers. The nostalgic acts need to stop because you can't always rely on the legends you need to highlight the young up and coming talent if you want people to continue to watch. The Rock segment left a bad taste in my mouth because he completely squash everything about him as a heel. Just an overall awful episode of RAW and this is shocking because the weekly shows of WWE usually be very solid but this was just a flat out bust. Next week show is looking very good in - ring wise as there are plenty of solid matches and the WWE Debut of Penta which I'm excited about because I enjoyed his work in Lucha Underground, TNA, and in AEW. But hopefully this bad taste can vanish when next week episode delivers because it needs to deliver big time.

The January 6th, Edition of WWE Monday Night RAW: Netflix Premiere Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Roman Reigns (with Paul Heyman) vs. Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat Match - Match Rating: **.50 - This match was something else. It was an average Roman Reigns match slow in the beginning, a referee bump, and The Bloodline appears then back up come then Roman Reigns find a way to win. I thought the match was how I expected it to go just a slow pace match with a lot of heat from the crowd. Roman Reigns reclaim his seat at the Head of the Table. Now that I'm hoping he's done with Solo Sikoa wonder what's next for Roman Reigns.

2nd Match: Liv Morgan (c) (with Dominik Mysterio & Raquel Rodriguez) vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s World Championship - Match Rating: **.75 - I'm very much glad that Rhea Ripley won the belt, and now can focus on giving other women a chance now that she's 100% done with The Judgement Day & Liv Morgan. I thought this match was okay nothing to special. Liv Morgan actually had a decent performance she showed up. Rhea Ripley finally got back something she didn't lost in the first place.

3rd Match: Jey Uso vs. Drew McIntyre in a Singles Match - Match Rating: *.25 - This match wasn't good whatsoever and shouldn't have been on this card. I thought they should of had the Final Round of the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship in this place because I know it would've been a great moment to crown a champion and the match would've been actually fun to watch. I thought everything about this match sucked. Drew McIntyre try to carry but it just didn't work out. I do enjoy both wrestlers but this match was a hard watch.

The Main Event Match: CM Punk vs. Seth “Freakin” Rollins in a Singles Match - Match Rating: ***.75 - I really enjoyed this match. The only thing I didn't really like was the finisher spamming towards the end but this was a good match to end the RAW Premiere on Netflix. It had a big match feel to it I like the fact there was a lot of back and forth. I genuinely don't believe this is gonna be a one off match I do believe a trilogy will be taking place for them and Seth Rollins will get his get back victory the next time they face off. CM Punk got the win after hitting back to back Go To Sleeps on Seth Rollins to close out the show. This was the only match on the show I genuinely enjoyed. I hope next week show goes back to really focusing on the in - ring and not feeling like a cinematic movie. But I liked this match a lot and enjoyed it from start to finish. I'm also very excited to see CM Punk work some RAW Matches this year.

The January 6th, WWE Monday Night RAW: Netflix Premiere, Match of the Night: CM Punk vs. Seth “Freakin” Rollins in a Singles Match - Match Rating: ***.75

The January 6th, Edition of WWE Monday Night RAW: Netflix Premiere Show Grade: 3.75/10 (D) - This wasn’t a good show. What we use to see on Monday Night RAW wasn’t displayed on this episode. I get that they want to go all out and have a nostalgic acts appear. I just wanted to see good wrestling and there was a huge lack of that on the show. The Main Event was the only good match everything else was below average or piss poor. These special episodes in the future need to have the young hooper be on display and not washed up non - popular acts. I’m glad next week the card looks good and will be back to normal but this Netflix Debut was just all hype and didn’t deliver in my eyes.

Next Week WWE Monday Night RAW on Netflix, January 13th, Edition Episode Announced Matches & Segments:

  1. Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser in a Singles Match

  2. Chad Gable vs. Penta in a Singles Match.

  3. Dakota Kai vs. Lyra Valkyria in the Final Round of the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament.

  4. Finn Balor vs. Damian Priest in a Street Fight Match.
