My Thoughts on the August 11th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW:
My Thoughts: This episode of Monday Night RAW was a lot better than last week's episode, as we had three solid matches on the show, and some freshness was added to the show. I think also having IYO SKY, one of the faces of the show, is great as she is in a million storielines at this moment in time, which is quite exciting, and I want to see how all of them play out. Naomi, I give my prayers too because something has been going on with her, and I pray she is okay.
The August 11th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Dominik Mysterio & El Grande Americano II vs. AJ Styles & Dragon Lee in a Tag Team Match| The Match Rating: ***.75 — This was a good opener as AJ Styles tagged alongside with Dragon Lee, and this was a team I didn't know I needed. But this match picked up towards the 7-8 minute mark. I think what this match had was a lot of heel tactics by Dominik Mysterio and Ludwig Kaiser, who's playing El Grande Americano II. Dominik Mysterio was playing chicken, trying to make sure AJ Styles didn't get in, but there was a moment in the match that was pretty cool, which was when Dragon Lee monkey flipped Dominik Mysterio into AJ Styles, as he caught him into a Styles Clash. But El Grande Americanio II wants to play spoiler. He got his metal plate, but AJ Styles kicked him back to the outside. Dominik Mysterio got the metal plate, put his mask on, and got AJ Styles with the metal plate. Oc, El Grande Americano II got the roll-up win and stands victorious. Funny thing is, at TripleMania, Dominik Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and El Grande Americano II will all face off for the AAA Mega Championship.
2nd Match: Sami Zayn vs. Rusev in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This match could've been so good if there hadn't been a screwy finish, but in Montreal, we got a typical Sami Zayn ovation as the crowd erupted hearing him. The match was very pleasent as we saw a lot of back-and-forth and I thought Rusev was doing a great job against Sami Zayn but before anything Sami Zayn gets attacked by Tonga Loa which proceeds by JC Mateo, and Talla Tonga to join in as the WWE United States Champion Solo Sikoa contiune to berate Sami Zayn and on the other side Sheamus came out and brawled with Rusev which was awesome their rubber matych needs to be Donnybrook Match at Clash at Paris and has some stakes winner faces the WWE World Heavyweight Champion or the Mid-Card Title. But this was fun until the shengianas. Also, I'm upset at the fact that Sami Zayn is back in the Bloodline Vortex.
3rd Match: Roxanne Perez (with Raquel Rodriguez) vs. IYO SKY in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — This was the best match of the night. One of the best wrestlers in the world and in WWE, IYO SKY, having weekly matches, needs to be a stable because she can wrestle a broomstick and make it a classic. I thought this match was fun and something this episode needed. IYO SKY was having a lot of offense as Roxanne Perez did her heel tactics and tried to pull some moves out to get the win. But the ending was awesome as Asuka and Kairi Sane try to help, but cost IYO SKY to get a rare loss against Roxanne Perez, who now has pinned the former 2x Women's World Champion.
4th Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Maxxine Dupri (with Akira Tozawa & Natalya) in a WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title Match | The Title Match Rating: N/A — This was a quick squash match, but I'll say this Maxxine Dupri has improved a lot, and credit to Natalya, because I know Maxxine Dupri wants to get better, and the work shows as she had some offense and a comeback, was it wasn't enough as she tapped out to Becky Lynch, and she retained her title. She attacked Natalya afterwards, which leads me to believe that next week another title match against Nattie. I need that match to be an official a underrated classic involving.
The Main Event Match: CM Punk & LA Knight vs. The Vision (Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed) (with Paul Heyman) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — A very fun tag team match. CM Punk and LA Knight as a tag team were very interesting as they brought a cool dynamic. I think this match should have had a finish. I didn't like the fact that there had been DQ finishes in back-to-back Monday Night RAW Episodes. The Bronsons did their part. I love how Bronson Reed has been portrayed as of late, a straight killer. But at least we had some special announcement at WWE Clash at Paris in a Fatal-Four Way as Seth Rollins will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Title against CM Punk, Jey Uso & LA Knight.
The August 11th | WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match of the Night: Roxanne Perez (with Raquel Rodriguez) vs. IYO SKY in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.25
The August 11th | WWE Monday Night RAW — The Episode Grade: 7/10 (B-) — This episode of Monday Night RAW was much better, with three solid matches and some fresh elements added to the show. I think having IYO SKY, one of the show's main faces, is great since she’s involved in than a million storylines right now, which is quite exciting, and I look forward to seeing how they all unfold. Naomi, I send my prayers too because something has been going on with her, and I hope she’s okay.
