The Thoughts on the January 27th Edition of WWE Monday Night RAW on Netflix Show:
Thoughts: The past three episodes of Monday Night RAW on Netflix has been very fun television. This 2.5 Hour per episode duration is great, and I love it. The start of the show was very solid as Seth Rollins opened the show but later Gunther, and Logan Paul came out. Logan Paul declared for the WWE Royal Rumble also stated that he's targeting the World Championship but Gunther pleaded that he hopes Seth Rollins wins the Royal Rumble so he can make a lesson out of him at WrestleMania in Las Vegas. The War Raiders retained there WWE World Tag Team Championships against the B-Team of The Judgement Day in a very fun title defense I really enjoy the tag team of Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh they just really mesh with each other. At one point I thought they had it won but Erik made the save. Rey Mysterio racks up another win against Xavier Woods. Now he's 2-0 against The New Day. The women had a great tag team match as Liv Morgan got the upset pin on 1/2 of the WWE Women's Champion Naomi. Now maybe down the line they can maybe get a shot at the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. I didn't think the Jey Uso segment was needed but after we saw Paul Heyman reveal that Roman Reigns is the Cover Athlete of WWE 2K25 but then was confronted by Drew McIntyre. Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre had a very solid main event match but now Drew McIntyre is 11-0 against Sami Zayn. Afterwards Drew McIntyre started to ram away on Sami Zayn which led to Cody Rhodes come and make the much-needed save. But by accident Sami Zayn connected with a Helluva Kick to the face of Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens nodded the approval of that even tho he knew Sami Zayn didn't mean to connect that to Cody Rhodes he intended to connect it on Drew McIntyre. The ending of the show had one of the best promo segments in recent memory with Cody Rhodes and CM Punk trading back and forth barbs. CM Punk was telling the reality of being a champion and how you can lose friends and lose yourself in the process he stated he was Cody Rhodes real friend but still wants to take what's his which is the WWE Championship. I loved this segment added many layers to a pending feud between these two in the future and with the Royal Rumble coming this Saturday this is a highly unpredictable PPV because we don't know who's winning any of the matches and I'm very excited for it love the unpredictability aspect.
The January 27th, Edition of WWE Monday Night RAW on Netflix Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) (c) vs. The Judgement Day (Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh) in a Tag Team Match for the WWE World Tag Team Championships - Match Rating: ***.75 - A very fun opener I loved the B-Team of Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh of The Judgement Day anytime these two tag together they always have a solid and fun tag team match and that was shown in this match. The War Raiders looked very good in this match they were delivering left and right and it’s great to see them being booked how they always should’ve been booked on the Main Roster. At one point in this match I thought that The Judgement Day had the match won but the pin was broken up by Erik. Later on while Dominik Mysterio was setting up Ivar for the 619 Erik tagged himself in which led to The War Raiders retaining. The Judgement Day hasn’t had a great start to 2025 with Liv Morgan losing her WWE Women’s World Championship to Rhea Ripley, Finn Balor losing to Damian Priest in a very fun Street Fight and hasn’t been seen since, to now Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh failed to become WWE World Tag Team Champions. A lot of issues in The Judgement Day and I don’t things will get any better anytime soon. But I’m very interested in who’s next for The War Raiders as I expect them to have a very good 2025 and lead the RAW Tag Division to great heights.
2nd Match: Rey Mysterio (with Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde, and Zelina Vega) vs. Xavier Woods (with Kofi Kingston) in a Singles Match - Match Rating: ***.50 - This was a very entertaining match to say the least. I liked how Xavier Woods family and Lil Yachty revealed they were wearing a New Day Sucks T-Shirt that was pretty neat. But the match itself was very fun Rey Mysterio has already fought in three matches and all of them have been very fun to watch. I like the fact that Rey Mysterio has been on the winning side of them so far outside of the Kevin Owens Match. I think this feud between him and The New Day isn’t over yet. Also to note Zelina Vega will depart from the LWO as she has been moved to SmackDown.
3rd Match: The Judgement Day (Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez) vs. Bianca Belair & Naomi in a Tag Team Match - Match Rating: ***.50 - A very solid Women’s Tag Team Match. Bianca Belair and Naomi had a very solid showing in this match. Liv Morgan looked pretty decent she had a lot of time in this match and even got the upset win by pinning Naomi. So possibly down the line if Bianca Belair and Naomi can retain against Meta-Four Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson we might see another match between these teams with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on the line.
The Main Event Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn in a Singles Match - Match Rating: **** - This was a solid main event. These two always have good matches against each other the only downside is… Drew McIntyre is 11-0 against Sami Zayn. I did enjoy the back and forth I thought this was the match we were going to see Sami Zayn finally get the win but he was handed a lost. Afterwards he was getting beaten up by Drew McIntyre again which led to Cody Rhodes to come and make the much needed save. Kevin Owens appeared to take out Cody Rhodes. Sami Zayn was getting ready to hit a Helluva Kick on Drew McIntyre but he ducked out the way which led to Sami Zayn connecting it on Cody Rhodes. A very crazy way to end out the night I thought this added more layers to the story being told for Sami Zayn as a lot of people are doubting him and with Karrion Kross in his ear kinda causing him to overthink it’s causing issues within himself which needs to be resolved.
